Quantity Discounts for 1.3

Edit Orders does not re-execute Quantity Discounts and has problems of its own. Proceed with caution and verify the calculations as you go; you may need to fix some using phpMyAdmin.

Right now we use Big Spender and Quantity Discounts. Our problem is that Qty Discounts are allowing free shipping when they should not, since shipping is calculated on subtotal rather than final.

For instance: We offer free shipping over $50. DVDs that are $7.99 when bought singly are 10 for $10 with Qty Discounts. So, if someone buys 10, the order total is $79.99, shipping is free, discount of $69.99 is applied, for a final total of $10. We would like shipping rules to apply to the $10 rather than the $79.99 so the get charged shipping. We actually have people buying 20 or 30 DVDs and still getting free shipping! Nice to see the orders, but it's a bit of a stretch.

Can you let us know if any of your free or paid mods allow us to do this, or if you can write a custom thing for it.

Is there a way to use both discount basis per cat and per product?

My goal is to give discount on total items:

category 1 / all products / $count > 2 / $amount = 2.50
category 2 / only product X / $count > 2 / $amount = 2.50

I recently upgraded to 1.3.9d and now my quantity discounts module is giving the maximum discount for all orders, no matter how many items are in the cart. It worked fine with 1.3.7, any idea why this happened?

Oddly enough it seems like an extra input box appeared in the mod settings that has no use, wonder if that's related?

You should note your settings, then do a REMOVE and then an INSTALL in admin->modules->order total->Quantity Discounts.

Thanks for the quick reply, it's calculating correctly now. But here's a funny thing that happened. If the max number of discountable items is placed in the cart (in my instance 5 or more) my sideboxes/banner_box.php which has a custom jpeg in it suddenly changes to a zen-cart promotional jpeg and link. But only when 5 or more items are placed in the cart! Strange... Any thoughts?

Update on last comment, turns out that a sidebox got turned on somehow during the upgrade process. Obviously not related to quantity discounts! Thanks again.

Is there a way to use the marketing text on the main Category page, as a lot of my customers don't need to go to the product page?
