    Hi,

"What if the uploaded images are the exact size for the large images?
Will IM move them to the large folder as no resizing needs to be done."

That makes no difference for you. If too large, IM will reduce the size, if not, it won't. But beware: if the original is too small, you won't be able to create a large size image from it.
In that case the (not yet published) link for uploading a new (properly sized) image for the product, will become handy.

"Once i have a small, medium and large image for my product, can i delete the original? or is that still needed?"

Actually you upload a very oversized small image. After the copy actions to medium/large you click the link to reduce it to the size that is set in the config settings of Zen-Cart.
Of course it's wise to keep the most original file (the one you uploaded from) on your local computer.

And don't worry about the # of questions.... there's no limit

    Hi,
    and thanks for the information.
Will i have to install IM on both my local server and live server?

If i install IM on my local server and sort out all the images, the small ,medium and large, will i have to upload the original large to the remote server with the other images?
    I hope that makes sense?

    many thanks

Hi, the local server is my laptop, i do all my work there first then upload it to my remote site (live site).
I have a duplicate site on my laptop. I would add the new products on my local server, back up the database, upload the images for the new products to my live server then import the backup from my local server into my live server.

    Would IM work this methodology?

    many thanks

Yes. You can use IM on your local server to prepare/create all images for the products. After that you can upload the images folders to the live server, where nothing more remains to be done. Theoretically you won't need IM on your live server, as nothing needs to be managed on the images anymore.

We have Image Manager installed and over 24,000 images that have already been copied and shrunk. We would like to add a watermark and have created the png in root of the images/large folder to match the size of the largest image.

The watermark is not working - did I miss something?

I searched the forum and did not find much about watermarking other than the fact that is an optional part of the copy/shrink process. I hope this does not mean that if the pictures are already processed there is no way to add a watermark.

    Best Wishes,
    Emily

Hi, i finally found time to install this module to a test site. I dont know where i have gone wrong but i dont think it is working, or i know how to use it. lol

I installed the files to my root, applied the SQL statement. There were no errors returned and i can see
    Admin>Configuration> Image Manager
    no problem.

But when I change the settings nothing happens????
I uploaded a .png to the large folder to give watermake but no watermark appears

I created a test product and upload a large image but no resized versions of this image have appeared.

And i have no idea about the following

    2. Management of images, not attached to products
Image Manager will provide a list of all files, that are present in the image folder and subfolders. Both main image files
and additional images of products will be excluded from the list. The additional files are recognised following the naming
    instructions in the Zen-Cart Tutorials/FAQ (see https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=58).
It excludes some folders that are known to have other uses.
The option to show a link or a thumbnail, or show the thumbnail of the file when hovering the mouse over the filename,
    is also functional here.
A link is provided to delete the file
Also, each image has a checkbox to select for multiple delete. After clicking 'Send' you will be asked for confirmation,
and the removal will be done.

Can some please help me learn where or what is going wrong??

    Hi Emily,

The bad news is: yes, the watermarking is part of the shrinking process.
The good news is: you can persuade me to add an option to watermark an already ok-size image

I will see what I can do on short term. It will be a simple fix, which doesn't check if the image already has been watermarked.

    Best regards,
    Boudewijn
