It generates a lot of files in bmz_cache,it cause some problems when more than 1024 files in Godaddy host,What can I do for this issue?![]()
Quick question - I've made a lot of changes to my images (renamed, changed file type <i.e. from .png to .jpg>, optimized for size & load time, moved them around, etc).
Should I delete the image files saved in the various folders inside bmz_cache?
If it generates a LOT of files, theis must mean you have a LOT or product images..
GoDaddy is not a recommended host for any dynamic content application (which Zen Cart is).. You need to consider a host which supports e-commence and other dynamic content better..
Which host to use is a topic for another thread NOT this support thread..
Good luck..

Re:
The reason I ask is because from time to time, some older images are being return on browser reload even though I clear my browser cache after making changes to my store.
This is quite likely a result of my extremely slow internet service rather than a cache issue for IH2. But I'm thinking clearing out the bmz cache folders will help me see my image changes faster and more consistently.
I just want to make sure that before I do this, that nothing else re: IH2 will be affected.

Awesome, thanks!clearing the IH2 image cache does nothing detrimental to your IH2 install..
I was on the phone when I posted my last answer..So here's a FULL response..
Anytime you make LOTS of changes to images, you should clear the image cache just so the changes are captured.. Doesn't hurt anything to clear it at all.. Your originals are safe in the "images" folder.. The image cache is built from your original images..

How Image Handler 2 works with other add-ons, specifically with Swap Images via Mouseover or Click add-on?
