Default Canada Post Module, not sending shipping to paypal.

I am using v1.3.9h of ZenCart, and have the Canada Post shipping mudole and Paypal Express Checkout.

The issue I am seeing is that when a user does "checkout with paypal" without being registered on my site, it doesn't send the shipping info, even if they do estimate it.

Should/Could I somehow make them registere to make purchases? I really would like for them to be able to pay without being registered, but if it works out that I cannot, I'll be fine with that for now.

    Thanks for any help.

    That is standard ZenCart code

If you have added some code to allow purchase without an account remove it

I didn't add anything other than the PayPal API. If the user clicks the checkout with paypal button, it goes right to PayPal and asks for the credit card info. I am supposing, based on more digging through the forums, that it would be coming back to the site for shipping once the info is filled in. I can't confirm this, however, and am going to be calling PayPal tech support for some assistance.

I will post back their response to this.

    thanks for the help.

What happens if you set in the PP module config > Express Checkout: Skip Payment Page to "No"??

I set it to "no" and it didn't seem to make a difference. I wonder if that's something else. not sure.

I called them and they said that it goes to their site, the user fills in the card and address info, then it goes back for the shipping info, then they process the order.

"can't confirm this"? So, you're saying that everything you've posted is hearsay, and that you've not actually gone through checkout yourself to understand how it works?

Zen Cart passes shipping info to PayPal *only* when it has that information to do so. If the customer goes directly to PayPal without an account on your store, then Zen Cart cannot magically pass info it doesn't have. However, when the customer returns to your store to choose a shipping method, the shipping address is shared with Zen Cart by PayPal, and that address is then stored both in Zen Cart and PayPal when the order is completed.
If PayPal isn't sharing the address with PayPal's shipping systems, then it would seem there's something wrong on the PayPal end.

Nothing there is hersay. I didn't follow the process trough because I was unsure if it would process, and didn't know about a testing account until I called about this. Good job on being condesending though. You must get tired of people aking simple questions huh?

I did discover that paypal would redirect back to get the shipping info after getting the payment info, including the address. The order of this seemed a bit off to me until I thought about how it works on other sites that have online purchases.

Anyhow, I do thank you for the help on this guys.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound condescending. But, if you're putting up a site that's supposed to sell something, and YOU don't actually go through the checkout process YOURSELF to know how it works, aren't you doing yourself and your customers a disservice?

No need for a "testing account". Just make a real purchase. You should do that anyway before making your store "live", so you can be sure that the money flows all the way back through to your bank as required. Isn't that a reasonable step to take?
