Adding subcategories and removing the display.

I'm using 1.5.6c on my site https://discontinuedautoparts.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=33/

What i'm having an issue with is the Category>Sub Category:

I want to keep the links on the left column, but remove all the displays in the home page as it looks a complete mess, if this isn't doable, do any of you have a suggestion how i can display Category>Sub Category in a clean user friendly manner?

I had to fight with the link as it doesn't work. When I took out the extra http// (sic), I got

(none)

I was only able to get the main page up. I'm running 150Mbps down and 100Mbps up. Your site times out with a 504.

Your store-bought template may be part of the problem as it has five JavaScript vulnerabilities reported.
