help question Freeshipper Handling Fee - What have I done wrong?

I'm selling virtual products using the FREE SHIPPING!/freeshipper module with a Handling Fee of 25˘ - but for some reason the Handling Fee isn't being added to the order total. Any ideas or is this a bug ZC v.1.3.7?

Downloads are NOT Virtual Products ...

Downloads are NOT Always Free Shipping ...

When setup correctly ... Downloads do not even go to the checkout_shipping page ...

So there is not a way to add a shipping handling fee to a download ...

Are your products physical and downloads?

Are your products both downloads and physical at the same time? This means that each product ordered would send a physical product to the customer AND have a download attached to it ...

    Thanks for the reply!

The site is selling mp3 downloads - no physical product (NO CDs etc.). The reason for "Always Free Shipping = Special, Product/Download Combo" was to plan ahead should the store decide to sell physical products (shirts, etc.) alongside the downloadable mp3s in the future - is this the incorrect setting to use?

The hope with the 'handling fee' was to add a per order charge that would help cover merchant service fees. Is this done better with a different shipping module? Flat Rate module?

Since the store does not require a shipping address (currently only downloadable mp3s) - it's preferred to skip the "shipping page" and just go to checkout with the additional fee tagged on to the order to cover merchant service fees.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks again!

Add the cost to the product for whatever you feel you need to charge ...

Or, if you think that will make the price appear to high add another attribute called: we charge you more with a value of 1.00 or whatever you want to call this ...

The flag for Always Free Shipping could be added later ... but really has no meaning ...

Or ... add a weight greater than 0 to all products and use flat for the fee ... but then you are back to a checkout_shipping page showing ...

Meanwhile, downloads are not meant to be marked as Virtual or Always Free Shipping ...

NOTE: if you do sell T-Shirts tomorrow ... these downloads are still not Virtual nor Always Free Shipping nor are they Combos ... combos is like a CD and Download where the customer gets both when they buy the Product so that there is a shipping charge on a download ...

Could you elaborate a bit on this option? Wouldn't the attribute be added to each product (in my case each album)? If I've misinterpreted this option, or if there is a way to implement the flat fee per order via attribute please clarify and let me know. Thanks!

Downloads do not use shipping ...

To use shipping there would need to be weight ...

Once there is weight you can use many methods for shipping ...

However, I think it is going to be really confusing to customers downloading files that there is a shiipping address and a shipping module ...

If you want to make an extra charge then make a new Option Name:

    Option Name Manager ...
    Option Name: Extra Charges
    Option Type: Radio

    Option Value Manager ...
    Option Name: Extra Charges
    Option Value Name: something here

    Attributes Controller ...
    Option Name: Extra Charge
    Option Value: something here
    Price Prefix: +
    Price: XX.XX
    Default: YES

Now the charge is added as a preselected attribute to the product and will show up on all orders ...

With this method won't the charge be added per product/item purchased? ie. purchasing a shirt and hat the customer will be charged the additional 'attribute fee' twice - correct?

    Thanks again.
