No Sales Tax charged, One State

Hi All:

I'm hoping you can help me...A client of mine says that an order came in and it was from their home state (AZ), but for some reason, that order didn't get charged sales tax.

However, all other orders (from anywhere else) got charged the sales tax correctly.

Do you all know of what could be causing this? I've checked that all the products are using the sales tax option, I've checked and the tax is set to be charged for ship to, and I've went through my setting for setting up the taxes several times to make sure all is correct.

I'm thinking Zen doesn't charge tax to it's own state (AZ), but I'm pretty lost. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

What are the tax settings for the zone for AZ?

What are the Details? US and AZ?

What is the shop set to on how tax is managed?

Basis of Product Tax
On what basis is Product Tax calculated. Options are
Shipping - Based on customers Shipping Address
Billing Based on customers Billing address
Store - Based on Store address if Billing/Shipping Zone equals Store zone

Basis of Shipping Tax
On what basis is Shipping Tax calculated. Options are
Shipping - Based on customers Shipping Address
Billing Based on customers Billing address
Store - Based on Store address if Billing/Shipping Zone equals Store zone - Can be overriden by correctly written Shipping Module

Sorry for jumping the gun. I was on the right track but took the wrong trail. I have looked carefully now to be sure the other tables and order admin agrees with what I have found.

This is the query that should be ran.

SELECT *
FROM `orders`
WHERE order_tax = 0.0
AND delivery_state
IN (

'TX', 'Texas'
)

Not This Query
SELECT *
FROM `orders`
WHERE order_tax is null
AND delivery_state
IN (

'TX', 'Texas'
)

I have at least 25 orders since 8/8/2006 that sales tax was not collected on but should have with the last issue occurring 2/2/2007. My site shows I upgraded to 1.3.7 1/17/2007. This hasn't happened in a while now so maybe it was fixed in 1.3.7 and maybe I didn't move to that version until after 2/2 (I installed fresh and then built the mods in... doing INSERT SELECTS when it was time to moveover)?

I collect taxes based on Shipping Address.

These issues happened with delivery state in (TX and Texas) most also have customer_state of (TX or Texas) and billing_state also.
Payment modules of authorizenet_aim, paypal

If it happens again I will write it up.... otherwise if you haven't upgraded yet here is a good reason!
