Please tell me this is possible w/ZENCART attributes

I am doing really good learning zencart and how to configure, install, and customize it but I think I have run into a brick wall and need someone to help me.

I created a product that has two attributes related to each other like size and quantity. The thing is I want to set it up so that one size directly effects the price of the quantity chosen.

Let's say for instance you were buy posters and there are different size posters and the only way you can buy the posters are in quantites that are increments of 5, so you choose one size like 4x6 and choose a quantity of 5, that would mean that your price would be specific only to that size and quantity, but lets say you choose a size like 3.5x8 and the quantity you choose is still 5 then that price would be different than the 4x6 because it is a different size for the same quantity which is 5.

How do I interconnect attributes so that one attribute like lets say you have two drop down boxes and the size attribute in one and the quantity attribute in another how do you make that size attribute affect the price of the quantity attribute?

Please help I am stumped on this one

If you demand a initial quantiy of 5 and in lots of 5 ie 5, 10 , 15, 20 etc this can be set in attributes.

So all you require is to set the prices for 3.5x8, 4x6 and so forth
Either the price each and zen will calc this against the min qty
or the lot price where the customer needs to know that 5 is the unit and how many units of 5 is the purchase qty

There is anothe way to have a base of 5 and also allow 6, 7, 8 etc

And all of this is in the admin

It is not currently possible to have one attribute dependent on another; however, there is a way to do exactly what you are asking for.

The Attributes Controller in Admin > Catalog has a feature called "Attributes Quantity Price Discount".

For your application, you would make an option named Size in the Option Name Manager, create all possible values for it in the Option Value Manager, and assign values of 3.5x8, 4x6, etc. in the Attributes Controller.

Typically you would enter the price for the option in the "Prices and Weights" section while assigning the value, but instead, enter a code sequence in the "Attributes Qty Price Discount:" box just below it. The code takes the form of #:##,#:##,#:##,...
For your case, say you enter under the 4x6 value 1:10,5:8,10:6. This translates to 1 for $10, 2-5 for $8 each or 6+ for $6 each. Multiples of 5 require an additional setting in the Product Entry page:

    Product Qty Minimum: [ 5 ]
    Product Qty Maximum: [ 0 ] (0 = unlimited)
    Product Qty Units: [ 5 ] (multiples of 5)

So you could then enter 5:10,10:8,15:7,20:6 which would translate to 5 for $10 each, 10 for $8 each, 15 for $7 each, and 20, 25, 30, etc. for $6 each.

You can enter a different set of prices for each size.

In the store display, you will see the attribute "Size:" with a dropdown or radiobuttons as you have chosen in Option Name Manager, and the price for the smallest quantity of each size next to it. There will be a note just below saying something like "Qty discounts are available"; clicking on that brings up a window/popup with a table of the price/quantity levels. When you select a size and a quantity and click "Add to Cart", the shopping cart will show the quantity selected, the price each and the subtotal.
To buy some of a different size, repeat the process; your vart will then have two sets of items in it.

I have only tested this feature, not used it extensively, so I don't guarantee that all details are accurate. There will also be other aspects of product pricing not discussed here that your individual situation may require.
