why my site is so slow ??

Hi everyone,

I have a site http://www.rolex2u.co.uk in a dedicated server and the front page and category pages seem to load at

an OK speed, but the details page for each product takes about 7.5 seconds to parse and 9-10 seconds to load on my

system.

Could you tell me how many seconds you need to open it? Many thanks!

It does have done some set for speed, if I can do anything to speed it up.

The site is running 1.3.8a

Thanks,

Jason

Re: why my site is so slow ??

You can enable parse time display in your admin > config > Logging > Display The Page Parse Time > set to true
They will be displayed in the footer area of your frontend

Visited...loaded reasonably quickly considering large
sized additional images..does not always have to be server
problem...different isp's have different speeds.

Re: why my site is so slow ??

Load initially to get in cache and then reload 5-10 times and record the parse times and average for a few pages

Re: why my site is so slow ??

A well configured server should be indicating sub-second parse times for the simpler low query pages(500 or less)

Re: why my site is so slow ??

I looked at Product details page and saw the following:

Parse Time: 0.600 - Number of Queries: 462 - Query Time: 0.217467626083

By any Standards of speed, those results are good.

Re: why my site is so slow ??

I would contend that they are "fair" but reasonable - -

Parse Time: 0.600 - Number of Queries: 462 - Query Time: 0.217467626083

We have sites that parse as follows:

Parse Time: 0.698 - Number of Queries: 4285 - Query Time: 0.45834304437256

collin,

I am still waiting for your page to load and if this is normal you need to seek a new host.

Having some issues of my own, so I totally understand some frustration on the issue. I hope next version of ZC will put the query amounts down even though these shops can be fast also with these amounts of queries but sometimes it would definitely help atleast to negoatiate about the server settings when your cart program doesn't look overwhelmingly demanding.

I would anyway look on your site some sideboxes if they are really needed and maybe put down the amounts of scripts (.js) loaded and css, images etc.
Just found this Simple Cache: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=621095#post621095
and I will look if it helps in our won slowness issues.

Re: why my site is so slow ??

I had a google header, it made a big difference when I took that off but the side box makes no difference at all. I also cropped all my images, is there a way to minimize all the images automatically?
