HI Guys. Is there a way to completely remove the Column Layout Grid Mod. I installed it just as the instruction but my products dont show anymore. The link to my site is https://www.mirrors4home.co.uk. As you will see there are products in my cart but they dont display when you select one. very wierd.

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

Did you get this fixed? I don't see anything out of place or missing.
Removing the Column Grid files will completely remove it in the frontend. To remove the admin switches, you would need to reverse the sql install query. I wouldn't try this unless you are comfortable with MySQL; the switches won't hurt anything sitting there.

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

Heres what i have.

I have "product_listings.php" in my "includes/templates/custom" folder.

I have "tpl_modules_product_listing.php" in my "includes/templates/custom/templates" folder

I have columns switched on in admin > configuration > product listings

I have columns set to 4 in admin > configuration > product listings

Is that correct?

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

product_listing.php goes in your /includes/modules/custom/ folder, not /includes/templates/custom/.
Otherwise, it sounds correct.

The faulty output I see could be a result of the mod's product_listing.php not being found in the right location.

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

Eureka. Thanks very much. I checked it against the instructions file after reading your post and I cant believe I missed it. I must have read it 6 times. It just goes to show that after 12 hours of looking at the monitor, a fresh pair of eyes with a lot of experience can sort things out. Right, off to look for another post about spacing the products out. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

The site's looking really nice! Very professional, clean, stylish... You're doing a great job!

If you want to find a quick way to create a full set of custom hyperlink buttons, then look at:

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

Thanks very much. The link you provided is great. Makes things a lot easier. It only took me about 2 hrs to find out where to put the bg image in the ezpagesnav. LOL. Lesson learned.

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

Is there a way in the admin or other WAY to dictate the order of the product layout in the Column Layout Grid Mod. Here is the link to the page: http://mirrors4home.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2

You can see that the price of the product is to the right of the image and I would like it below the image. What I would actually like is;

TITLE
IMAGE
PRICE
DESCRIPTION
MORE INFO

What do you think?

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

I'm just wondering if all that extra data is necessary at this display level.

We have a column layout on one of our sites, and have:

IMAGE
TITLE
PRICE
ADD TO CART

http://www.edutrade.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=98_99

(Whether you display these bits of data or not depends on your settings in configuration>>>Product Listing ...

... By giving the components a numerical value exceeding "1", you get them to display - "0" renders display inactive. Also, if you increment the numerical value, you can change the sort order, which is what you asked above).

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

In "product Listings" i set;

Page Name - 1
Product Image - 2
Display Product Listing Default Sort Order - 3

As you will see the I can not get the price to drop under the image. Any ideas?

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

OK I didnt get it quite like I wanted it but I think it look ok as it is now. I changed the css alto for the .listingPrice but thought I would revert the position css of it as I dont yet know if the boss will be adding a sale price and what the effects would have been. I may re address this later on.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

We can't help if we can't see your site, to at least have a start on diagnosis.

The "Display Product Listing Default Sort Order" is not about the price, it is the order products appear in the page. What you want to set here is

Display Product Price/Add to Cart

Re: Column Layout grid Mod

Sometimes the internet just doesn't let a connection through. Works for me now.
Your output does cut off exactly at the point where the product_listing.php output should be starting. Have you double-checked the location of both files?

I see in view source that you actually have the flexible product listing version. When did you get it? There were some bugs I fixed after the first posting, and one I haven't found yet that breaks when using the rows setting.
