When creating new code and mod existing

I wish to stay complaint with Zen licensing standards and coding practices.

When I create my own files, what information should be placed at the top of the code in each file?

If I create new files based on existing Zen files, what should I add to the top?

Would this be any different if I wish to offer as a contrib or just for private use?

Lastly,

What version control tools do the Zen development team use (recommend for windows)? Is this what creates the $id string in the files?

Thank you for helping me with my questions :smile:

Credits that exist and add ZenCart to those

See above

These are entered manually.

$id strings are automatically updated if you use SVN (which I believe the dev team is using).

I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

They are using subversion or a flavor of it at least :). It's the only way to effectively collaborate on coding such huge project

Plus all these info:

/**

  • products_all header_php.php
  • @package page
  • @copyright Copyright 2003-2007 Zen Cart Development Team
  • @copyright Portions Copyright 2003 osCommerce
  • @license http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt GNU Public License V2.0
  • @version $Id: header_php.php 6912 2007-09-02 02:23:45Z drbyte $
    */

Suggesting they are using it. Everytime you update and commit, the id is modified to update who, when,...modified the file etc. Pretty useful.
