Missing images??

Hi,

Not sure what has happened. I am just setting up a test site here:

https://www.ampmgraphics.com/demo

I want to to be the same as this site https://www.ampmgraphicsprint.com

As you will see there are background images missing and side images.

Can't figiure out what I have done wrong/not yet done ????

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Re: Missing images??

connect via FTP.

The file path you have for images state that there is no such image in this folder:

ampmgraphics.com/demo/images/banner_specials.gif

The file path on the workign image site is:

ampmgraphicsprint.com/images/banner_specials.gif

I think you will see the issue is your file path. Correct that and all will be working.

That wasn't the plan!

Re: Missing images??

Thanks for that. The side images now show. Is it ok that they are in that file?

Still no background images though (In the middle section)??

Re: Missing images??

You don't want to artificially point to the main shop location; you want to copy the image files to your test location. There are also custom language files missing, as evidenced by the stock define_main_page content and the HOME_PAGE_TITLE in the window header.

How did you originally create the test installation?

Re: Missing images??

I didn't think I was doing that?? eeek

I set up the newest version of zen cart and added the custom folders from my original. I am trying to do it more logically this time ensuring I do the over-ride system.

So what bits are missing??

Just checking out the category Dressing  I presume it would be possible to achieve the look of the side categories on this page http://www.ampmgraphics.com/ within zencart using this???

Sorry for the extra question

Re: Missing images??

You can copy the homepage center content into /includes/languages/english/html_includes/YOUR_TEMPLATE/define_main_page.php. Template image and background files should go in /includes/templates/your_template/images/.

The categories menu can easily be done with Categories Dressing.

Re: Missing images??

Really baffled....Still no background

Basically I am having trouble seeing where bits are from my original site so I don't know what bits I need to copy over. I would just copy the whole site over but as I said I want to make sure its tidier this time

Who knows what I've done and where anything is!? hm :dontgetit

Re: Missing images??

If you can't find some image files in your new installation, copy them over from the original installation. The files not being in the folder where they were supposed to be is not a dead end, it is the problem and the solution revealed.

Re: Missing images??

Thanks for that...I've look and copied over all the images...no change...still nothing showing...

..I know I will have done something daft but just don't know what!!

If I wanted to change the background image of the main bit (where it is currently white)...what would I do?

(I have tired to do this as well but that didn'w work..so I guess I didn't do it right!)

Re: Missing images??

This is just a question of directory PATH referencing, as Glenn points out.

Call up the problem page. Look at the HTML source of that page. examine the path(s) to the images not being displayed. Correct or ammend your server's directory/file structure to match the paths being referenced in the HTML.

In instances where the image is called through a stylesheet declaration from a CUSTOM template, look at your headers in the HTML source and see where the stylesheet css folder is sitting.

Your images folder (containing logos and background images) should be at the same LEVEL as that css folder... and your css declaration calling the background image for the BODY, should look like this:

background-image: url(../images/YOUR-IMAGE.jpg) ; (or GIF, or PNG or whatever image type)

Re: Missing images??

Other possible issues are corrupted image files - did you ftp your image file in BINARY mode?

I have done what has already been sugested (follow the image path etc) but still not sorted.

Sorry I don't know what you mean by BINARY mode

I uploaded all files the same way using Filezilla. I've never had any problems. :(

Re: Missing images??

Your "easy to order" image is being called from /shop/images/home_easytoorder.gif```html

<div id="indexDefaultMainContent" class="content"></br> <img src="/shop/images/home_easytoorder.gif" alt="Easy to order"></br> ``` which when added to the base ```html <base href="http://www.ampmgraphics.com/demo/" /> ```gives <http://www> .ampmgraphics.com/demo//shop/images/home_easytoorder.gif

You can see the multiple problems here.

Going to http://www .ampmgraphics.com/demo/images/home_easytoorder.gif shows that the image is where it ought to be for this installation; you are pointing to the wrong place.
