USPS shipping module first clas intl issue

Hello.

Our site is currently having issues with the USPS shipping module not allowing any international customers to choose the "first class international" rate.

I do know that the US post has changed rates today and assume this is why. I have removed and re-installed and i have the latest version of the usps.php file up. I have also made the changes as outlined here

my debug info is below...and as you see it does not seem to be getting the First class int rates at all.

i assume this is a USPS issue...but maybe on chance they have changed the "name" of those rates and they should be updated in the array?

i'm a bit perplexed...

any help would be MUCH appreciated

ok i see the first class int is there now. but it is not displaying on the site for our customers.

Apparently, USPS has once again changed the code ...

See if changing these lines in the file:
/includes/modules/shipping/usps.php

fixes the problem:

        'First Class Mail Int Lrg Env' => 'First[B]-[/B]Class Mail International Large Envelope',
        'First Class Mail Int Package' => 'First[B]-[/B]Class Mail International Package',
        'First Class Mail Int Letters' => 'First[B]-[/B]Class Mail International Letters',
        'First Class Mail Int Flats' => 'First[B]-[/B]Class Mail International Flats',
        'First Class Mail Int Parcels' => 'First[B]-[/B]Class Mail International Parcels'

It is small ... kinda, sorta ... well ... no biggy ... it just has a lot of updates to it for RateV3 and a few other additions ... plus the changes to work with the January 4, 2010 changes ... :lamo:

Is it really necessary to uninstall/reinstall for the change to work?

I'm asking because it seems just replacing the file seems to fix the issue, but I'm not sure if uninstalling/resintalling does any addtional things.

There are some configuration_keys that really need to be set so it is advised that you do this properly and save your current settings and do the REMOVE, INSTALL and re-configure ...

OK, good to know, I will remove, install and reconfigure right away.

So far I had only replaced the file on all my sites and seemed like all that was needed.

for the digit fix for International based on a new change by USPS for processing only 5 digits on International ...

I am currently having the same issue but have not tried the solutions posted above, for one main reason:

The zen-cart I am admin for is still 1.2.3 for reasons out of my control.

I was wondering if these fixes would work with/for 1.2.3.

Also for future reference: does this happen on every year with usps? Just so i can be prepared heh instead of get pwned :lamo:

It worked for me straight up on a 1.2.6 site. You don't have to take the site down, just make a back up of your existing usps.php file and try it out
