Re-Selling?

I'm building a new affiliate system / shopping cart and am considering building upon ZenCart's existing functionality.

My question is, am I legally allowed to resell my new software if it is a modified version of ZenCart?

The way that I understand the GPL license is that you are allowed to add/modify and resell as your new software.

Original copyrights must be retained and attributed. You can't just take that out.

However, as it is based on a GPL license, your modification also has to be licensed as GPL. This means that I could then purchase a copy of your software and then choose to give it away or, indeed, resell it as well.

Would be good for someone to confirm this though.

If you were to build an add-on to zen cart you can sell it and give it a commerciall license when zen cart is included you can still sell it but with the implications written above.
