New upgrade not showing in admin - version

Hi,

I have just completed the upgrade but its not showing in my admin so I still have this:

Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Database Patch Level: 1.3.9c
v1.3.9c [2010-05-19 11:09:57] (Version Update 1.3.8->1.3.9c)
v1.3.8 [2010-05-19 11:09:57] (Version Update 1.3.7->1.3.8)
v1.3.7 [2007-11-24 11:47:18] (Fresh Installation)

Instead of Zen Cart 1.3.9c

What have I done wrong? :dontgetit

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

That's only showing that you've upgraded your database ... and confirms that you've not properly upgraded all your PHP files to the site yet.

I have been through the whole site now...

I am guessing its just an issue with the two configure files?
Could this be the case?

Thanks

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

Here are snippets from the admin configure file, just want to check I have done this right...site is at /demo2

  define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.ampmgraphics.com');

  define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.ampmgraphics.com');

  define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/adminfoldername/');
  define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/ampmgraphics.com/demo2/adminfoldername/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/ampmgraphics.com/demo2');

  define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/home/sites/ampmgraphics.com/public_html/demo2/adminfoldername/');
  define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/sites/ampmgraphics.com/public_html/demo2');

  define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home/sites/ampmgraphics.com/public_html/demo2/cache');

Rob

Sorry not sure what you mean...here are snippets from the other configure file- includes/configure.php

  define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.ampmgraphics.com/');
  define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://web41.secure-secure.co.uk');

  define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/demo2/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/ampmgraphics.com/demo2');

  define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/sites/ampmgraphics.com/public_html/demo2/');

  define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home/sites/ampmgraphics.com/public/demo2/cache');

Have I done a bit wrong?

Or is this not the issue?

Thanks

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

i dont think it's your configure file, i think you may have not copied the newer files from the the includes folder from your downloaded fileset

have a look for a folder called includes on your downloaded files, you will see a directory called includes and inside is a load of folders, but below all the folders are a number of files, these also need to be transferred across

/includes/application_bottom.php
/includes/application_top.php
/includes/autoload_func.php

all of them

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

one of these, is where i think it gets its version info from, and the lack of your version, in my opinion must mean these files havent been copied accross

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

Since changing my configure files..I can no longer get to the login page..so I guess this may well have something to do with it...

I guess I have a wrong bit or bits in one or both of those files..

Any ideas which bits are wrong?

Thanks

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

Your configure.php files are unlikely to have anything to do with the version number (non-database number) showing an old version.
Instead, the version information comes from PHP files. And, thus, if you've not uploaded the new .php files from the new version, then your site is going to report that it's still on the old version.

Rob,
There are no database changes from v1.3.9a to v1.3.9b or v1.3.9c
Thus you will not see the Database Patch Level get updated.
The fact that it shows for you as 1.3.9b simply reveals that you skipped v1.3.9a when upgrading to the v1.3.9 series. You've done nothing wrong.

Sorry, my communication skills are not that good when trying to explain things :)

I was trying to point out that his version numbers don't add up as you (as far as i was aware) you cant have a database patch level of 1.3.9c as he had put in his original post, i have PMd him i and found he has more than one installation on the server, and his files were upto date, i am pretty sure his configuration file is point to another installation

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

If your fresh install (or your first upgrade from pre-1.3.9) is v1.3.9b, then your Database Patch Level will be v1.3.9b.
That's completely separate from your PHP files being at v1.3.9c level.

As to his installation being pointed to another database, I guess that's possible if he's set different database details in separate configure.php files. I'm not sure why one would do that, but that info definitely needs to match between the storefront and the admin.

This doesn't make sense though as I placed the whole of the new folder within /demo2?

Also my configure files can't be right as I can't login to admin.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

This is still not solved...I noticed my configure files were not correct and so I have altered them to point to the correct admin folder (I have more than one shop on the same domain as this is an upgrade demo)...now when I go to the login page I just get a blank white page..

What have I done wrong?

Thanks

Re: New upgrade not showing in admin - version

Just to update/add:

The whole site works fine here

Since updating my configure files to point to /demo2 instead of my older site (I could login fine then) I can no longer log in to admin and just get a blank white page.

I have checked my two configure files to check all databases / passwords / admin folders etc are correct and all looks fine. I have allowed the files to be copied over (permissions) but I can't login. Rob has kindly looked at the configure files but still doesn't work.

Any idea what this might be?

Thanks
