Estimated Shipping

I just purchased an online store and getting familiar with the admin section. The one thing I have not figured out is why the shipping estimater is not working. It has a black background. Can someone please tell me how I can get this to work properly? I cannot find it in the dropdown menu in thge admin section of my site. Please bear with me, I am a novice at this, but learning. :blink: I will probably need step by step instructions. :smile: I have check the forum, but have not found an answer. (One that I can understand :blush:)

Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Estimated Shipping

dont delete this button. It will help increase sales.

did you buy a working/ live site?
are the shipping modules installed? ( just a thought, its probably not the cause)
is your store zip code set up in admin?
to install shipping mods, go to admin>modules> shipping and install atleast one.

can we see your site to help you better?

Ok, I looked at your site.

Its working just fine. All the text is there.

The problem is that the color of the text is black on black background : )

just change the color of the background to white, or something lighter!

Re: Estimated Shipping

If you don't know how to change the background color:

  1. find the file called stylesheet_main.css
  2. look for code that looks like this

#popupShippingEstimator {background:#000000; text-align:left;}

and change to this:

#popupShippingEstimator {background:#FFFFFF; text-align:left;}

Re: Estimated Shipping

Thank you. One more thing though, I have looked everywhere in the Admin section and unable to locate where the style sheets are. can you advise me where it would be? Or is it in the Control Panel. If so where do i look. Sorry about my lack of knowledge in this area. You have been great and patient with me. Can you help me find where to find the area though?

Thanks

E

Re: Estimated Shipping

OK I found it in the FTP file and changed it, to what you said. But is still showing a black color. What else can I do to correct this, short of letting you do it for me. lol

Re: Estimated Shipping

Since you are pretty new to all this.

You need to do two thing first and foremost.

  1. Create a site back and keep that copy on your PC.
  2. Learn to use a FTP program.

Call your host and they can help you with both.

For now, to quickly do this... in you control panel file manager, go to

Includes/templates/your_ template/CSS/ stylesheet_main.css.
And edit what i told u to earlier.

I don't know. I changed what you said, and uploaded it back to the server, but it still has a blackground. And it shows it was changed to FFFFFF, but it still has a black background. Sorry I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. if I see you online, I will PM you, if I can figure out how to do that. lol
