Sales tax name shows three times on checkout

When the user buys a product the tax shows as:

How do I correct it, to show the tax only ones.

I have run into an interesting issue. On step 2 of 3 on checkout if I have shipping clicked in step 1 of 3 then I get the total to display:

Zone tax name + Zone tax name + Zone tax name: $ tax amount

If I do pickup it works fine or select any other zone for my main shipping info. Any ideas on what I configured wrong?

Any idea why tax descriptions might show up twice?

It seems to be calculating the tax accurately (rather than doubling it) but the tax line looks like this:

check for redundancy in the descriptions entered for the tax definitions in Admin.

No redundancies in the descriptions. I did figure out that the dups only show up when you select "store pick up". Maybe it's confused about whether to use a shipping address or store address?

we have the same issue but appears also when selecting other shipping than storepickup.
Before upgrade from 1.3.7. this worked properly, now the description is from the both VAT types available even if it calculates correctly only the first type for this product type I'm testing with.

Looking the database, both of these are visible in the checkout VAT row (+ in between) but not calculated both, only the 23%:

did you manage to figure this out? I have a similar problem. It is adding two different tax descriptions and sign "+" in between. The calculation is correct though, using only the first tax rate as a reference. But this confuses people a lot. The shop was 1.3.7. before and there was no problem with this, and it appeared like this only when upgrading to 1.3.9h.

Hi, did you get a solution for this? I have a similar issue and crawling through messages of people who have asked the same issue before but nobody seemed to get an answer and this is quite important to have correct tax info in the shop. No matter if in our case the calculation is actually correct, just the description incorrect putting many tax rate names.

So, in the checkout page we get like this:

ALV/VAT 23% + ALV 13% / VAT 13%
the following calculation is anyhow correctly based on the 23% only like it should be with these products in the shopping cart.

Actually now I put only products with the VAT 13% in the shopping cart and it still shows the both descriptions but calculates with the bigger 23% tax still. So, also the calculation goes wrong in this case.

sorry, the above product of 13% was actually not marked correctly as 13% taxated, so the issue remains the original:
calculation is CORRECT but shows for some reason both tax rate descriptions in the checkout.

still having the issue and getting kind of desperate: maybe there would be something directly in the database that I could check if it is not correctly? How could I debug this? Can't get any errors, only the wrong VAT text (and the calculation is correct).

To me it happens with any products and as example I put a product with model number "2101826". (you can find with search exactly)
I tested all the different shipping methods, so that didn't make any difference. In all cases the payment page says
"ALV/VAT + ALV 13% / VAT 13%", so two different VAT taxes. The calculation is correct, using only the VAT 23%.
Storepickup has no tax class set up (0 euro as well), the other shipping methods have 23%.

Let's c if that information would help. I attached a snapshot what I see when I'm on the payment page.

Testing it with different shipping etc, and it looks like to be ok. I haven't noted this kind of switch appearing at all for the system... may be it has been there before but didn't cause any trouble for any other site.
Are there any drawbacks with this setting? It only affects when the other VAT is 0%?

Hi,

The switch has been there for a while, however earlier versions of Zen Cart did have some bugs in that area which may be why you never noticed it.

There should be no problems caused by its use, as the scenario you have is exactly what it was designed for.
