Show Item is FREE shipping in the CART.

Hello Ajeh, :-)

Might there be a way to SHOW an item has FREE shipping ?

What is happening is a cx is purchasing FOOD "free shipping"

the cart is set for the Item to have free shipping so NO RESULTS from
the UPS sever "EMPTY ESTIMATE and Item weight"

Can I have the Item in the cart SHOW it is set for FREE SHIPPING
just like it would if some other attribute was set for that item,
like if it were a shirt and "RED" was selected.

I would just like it to so the Item has FREE shipping associated with it
as I am getting emailed that people think we do not ship to their area" but is NOT saying that
just a cx assumption as NO shipping is showing.

How have you marked a Product to be Free Shipping?

If a Product is Free shipping to everyone, then you can mark it as:

Always Free Shipping: **Yes, Always Free Shipping **

Then, install the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module ...

When only Always Free Shipping Products are in the cart, then only the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper module will show and the others will be disabled ...

When there is a Mixed cart of Always Free Shipping and regular Products in the Cart the Always Free Shipping Product will not count towards shipping ...

Right, that is how it is set, with the free shipping and free shipping options
and in a mixed cart it does ONLY show for the NON food Item.

but when it is ALL food, people are emailing me thinking we will not ship to them
as the shipping estimator is blank "as it should be but they do not know that"

so I just wanted to SHOW FREE SHIPPING under the Item in the cart just as some
attribute would if one was selected for the Item, this way they can SEE IT IS FREE
and not worry about it.

if you like, to see what I mean, please go to http://efpsupply.com and click on
EMERGENCY MEALS on the left and add any one of them. you will see it is not
showing the items as free, but ARE set in the items setup.

O, man..

Ya' need to take OFF the ALWAYS FREE SHPPING in the Items setup
and set the free shipping zone to USA,

but then how do I tell it the differance between FOOD and NOT FOOD
so UPS will appear for NON food even in the USA ? as if I set free shipping mod
to USA then it will let free shipping to ALL ITEMS, not JUST FOOD ?

getting a bit lost on how to get it to tell the differance in food and non
and to canada always pays for shipping EVEN FOOD..

Why are you also using Free Shipping Options freeoptions?

If you go to the Catalog ... Product Types ... and click on EDIT LAYOUT ... you have a choice to display Free Shipping icon on the Product _info and Listings ...

I am not seeing a blank on the Shipping Estimator I see the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper in the Shipping Estimator ...

If I add a Product with shipping, I see the Free Shipping Options freeoptions and UPS shipping for the Product that is not Free Shipping ...

because I am lost :-(
sitting here messing with it, trying to get FOOD FREE in USA only
and shipping on all else and EVERY ITEM shipping to canada.

It there a way to MASS chage Items to take OFF the "always free shipping" in the items setup pages ?

Image is set to on, but does not show, must be the template I guess.

but IF I turn OFF the FREE SHIPPING now in the items setup page the free shipping no loger shows.

geez this is tough.. might there be a way to set the food shipped in USA to FREE
and normal shipping for other items and always shipping to canada ?

cause, it works fine if in the US, it will do free shipping on the Items set to ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING and I
can do that per item, the issue is the ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING is INCLUDING CANADA, can it be EXCLUDED
when the ALWAY FREE SHIPPING is selected in the item setup ?

Everything works until CANADA, can there be a way to hard code out canada from my always free shipping ?

You would need to customize the code for the shipping class and change it to:```

Then in the shipping modules such as USPS you would need to recheck the cart to ignore the block on Always Free Shipping:

}

// bof: allow for Canada

Then, add weight to the Product like all you usually would so Canada can calculate shipping ... Mark the Product as Always Free Shipping ...

NOTE: this assumes you are only shipping to the US and Canada by setting Zones on the Shipping Module for the US and Canada ...

You could customize your templates and overrides for the:
/includes/templates/your_templates_dir/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

and change the line around 85 to read:

I just use notepad or word pad

I found the spot, if you add an item you will see TEST under it,
but the code you gave displays the entire Item again,
I just need it to reconize that the ITem is set to free shipping
and if it is then show, ITEM HAS FREE SHIPPING or something.

The line I gave you is the original line plus, what is in RED is the new code to display the Free Shipping icon ...
