install zen 1.3 database does not exist???

Am trying to install zen 1.3.9h on my 1and1 server. After a previous positive installation where i could not add for some reason a new theme i reinstalled uploaded and created a new database. When now trying to introduce the database info i get "Database does not exist Access denied for user 'dbo....' to database 'zen...'
Any ideas? advice?

If you're seeing that during installation, I'd guess you're entering the wrong database name. On most shared servers, you have to prepend your control panel user name to the database name, so: username_databasename

zc_install/index.php - have copy pasted database host and username so cant be the problem that am inserting wrong data

no to iniciate the shop i have to put in the info database host, database user and pass so i did that from the info i have from my data base...

For starters -->Can you access the database using PHPmyAdmin?
A MySQL account is identified by both a username and a hostname, which are found in the User and Host columns of the mysql.user table
this will provide you with the information stored in the database as a reference check point.

yes i can get into phpmyadmin and the db info (name, user name, host) coincides with the info i put into the zen installation page - have created a few databases to test but get same problem with each one

What are you entering as the database name ?

Check your user priviledges. The FILE privilege gives you permission to read and write files on the Mysql server

am not entering database name as the installation asks for
Database Host which is - Host name db2883.perfora.net
Database Username which is - User name dbo362302534
Database password - which i put in and database name which i put in

What name are you entering ? Zencart installation requires that you enter the name of the database.

The error message you're getting is saying that the database with the name you specified doesn't exist.

You might also try localhost as the Database Host.

check the permissions you mean? have checked and they are all green in the checklist before u install. Or do u mean something else? where can i find how to do this?

mysql priviledges. in your Web control panel. did the host give you the username ?

almost sounds like a firewall is blocking port 3306 ?

i have about 7 databases and they are working fine on my other sites using the same port 3306 - just cant figure out what is wrong plus in my control panel PHPMySQL config cant do much but set up databases

in the configure .php files under 'define our database connection' you say everything is identical in the two configure files? ( store side and admin side )
how many characters in the password?

MYsql -If you cannot figure out why you get Access denied, remove from the user table all entries that have Host values containing wildcards (entries that contain '%' or '_' characters). A very common error is to insert a new entry with Host='%' and User='some_user', thinking that this enables you to specify localhost to connect from the same machine. The reason that this does not work is that the default privileges include an entry with Host='localhost' and User=''. Because that entry has a Host value 'localhost' that is more specific than '%', it is used in preference to the new entry when connecting from localhost!
