Large Images not opening in Firefox

I've just discovered a problem on my website - don't know how long it's been a problem (under 2 weeks I'm guessing) or what has caused it? When in Firefox my large (_LRG) product images won't load. I'm using lightbox but the screen darkens as if it will load the image - but the image does not appear. The site appears to work fine in Opera and IE, but not Firefox (version 4.0.1).

I am still running 1.3.8 zen cart (although am nearly ready to do my upgrade). I've done no site updates that I'm aware of that should have caused this problem (I haven't done any site updates since it was last working correctly). The only thing that I know that's different is my version of Firefox which recently updated itself.

Any help much appreciated.

Update - the images seem to load correctly in Firefox version 3.6.17 but not in my new version. Has anyone got a suggestion on how to resolve this?

I noticed the same, large images open fine with older versions but when I tried Firefox 4.0.1 just white area appeared (the same size as image). I'm using Zen Lightbox.

Solved the problem, updated Zen Lightbox from version 1.5 to 1.6.2 and now large images work in Firefox 4.0.1, too.

hey,there are the same problem in this cosplay costuems website: http://www.cosplaystore.biz/.The version of the zen lightbox is 1.5 and zen cart version is 1.3.8.I wonder whether zen light box 1.5 update to 1.6.2 can be success without any error.

How large are the images? Some browsers won't display them if they're over a certain size. I believe there's a limit on both dimensions and file size. Maybe modern browsers don't do this, but I know older ones had this problem. As long as images aren't excessively large, it shouldn't be a problem. Also, Photoshop will warn you if you try to save for web using an image that's too large.

Did I help, or just mindlessly rant? :P

Update Zen Lightbox 1.58 to 1.6.2 can fix the problem and it is easy without any trouble.

In both IE and Firefox your images open fine for me. However, they are not using Zen Lightbox.

In both IE8 and Firefox 3.6.23 the hover works on the primary image, but the large is not working in either. It doesn't open the image at all, but instead goes to the Toys Prams and Cribs category. The secondary images load like regular Zen Cart without an image handling mod.

Zen Lightbox is another image handler. Lightweight and easy to install. You can see it in action here:

I installed 7 recently and it was a dog, so I dumped it. Does the large image open for the primary image? The secondary images do open fine.

I just checked it in the latest version of Chrome and it produces the same behavior I described above.

I get 5 large images ... so it seems to work fine ...

Im running IE 9 and Firefox 7.0.1

In IE the large image & everything else opens fine.
In Firefox the hover images work fine but when I click on the image on the product info page to show the large image it just opens a tiny pop up window about 1 inch square. The image is there but I cant see it untill I stretch the pop up box.

Ive since tried it on another computer in both IE and Firefox and it works fine in both.

Im thinking the problem may be with my Firefox :unsure: ?

I love the way Zen Lightbox works now Ive seen it in action. I dont suppose I can just uninstall Image Handler and install Zen Lightbox without a lot of extra work, can I?

I am also going to try and add Ultimate Fade-In Slidehow tomorrow on my home page. Do you think this will be compatable with Image Handler? Zen Lightbox?

Fascinating problem. Different results in different browsers, and different results with the same browsers on different systems.

I have exactly the same problem. I don't have lightbox or other image handler installed.

When I click the image in Product Info page, the _LRG image is displayed in a pop-up box. It works correctly with IE8, IE8 in compatibility mode, Opera 11.11, Safari 5.1.1 and Chrome 14.

However, all Firefox 7.0.1 displays is a tiny pop-up (see picture attached). If you drag the corner to enlarge the pop-up, the large image is there and displays properly.

As I always test my site with all 5 browsers listed above, I'm sure that the problem is with Firefox, otherwise I would have noticed it before. It's only a couple of weeks since I upgraded to Firefox 7.0.1 and was prompted to test when I saw this post in the forum.

Despite what most tech people recommend, I personally hate Firefox and only use it for the Web Developer add-on which is very useful.

Any ideas? You may try it yourself on any product but this happens with Firefox 7.0.1 only, at least on my computer.

Thanks for your reply. That's exactly the problem: it works with older versions of Firefox but not with 7.0.1 and I too wonder if Firefox knows about this. I don't think they would care though!
