[Fixed 1.6.0] ez pages toc links not displaying any more

My shop has been working fine for ages....now my ez pages toc's are only showing the parent link. I have moved server recently, but all settings are ok, the ezpage setup seems ok, so what might cause this behaviour? The parent pages are set to appear in the LH box, with children only showing as links in the parent page itself. Only the parent link shows..... Any help appreciated. The source code in the browser verifies that the system is not sending the links in the delivered page.

The items 'sling essentials', 'sling benefits' and 'how to carry' have a number of other pages in their chapters....now I can only access these child pages if I enable the back and next navigation....which I normally have set to off....

What happens if you make a new page for a chapter? What happens if you make a whole new chapter with main and child pages?

I just loaded up ZC.1.5.1 - and am having the SAME PROBLEM...

Now I do know a bit about EZpages, so I doubt whether I anything doing anything incorrectly. (Over the years, I must have set up HUNDREDS of chapters...)

This is on a FRESH install 1.5.1... no changes to core.

I get the FIRST (parent) link... eg: CH 1 sort order 1, but CH1 sort order 2, CH1 sort order 3, CH1 sort order 4 ... nothing shows in the TOC menu.

Stumped...

I just checked my v1.5.1 test site, and see the same issue. The page with the lowest active sort order in the chapter's TOC displays, none of the rest do.
It is independent of any other settings or factors.

Can we escalate this as a bug... ? I really need this feature.

Looking at /includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_page_default.php, nothing seems to have changed. The code only builds a TOC when there is more than one item in $pages_listing, but then it only shows the first item, as if there were only one (reaches EOF).
/includes/modules/pages/page/header_php.php, where $pages_listing is built, has not changed since 2006.

It certainly seems to be a bug... the question is, what could have changed to make it malfunction now when it used to work fine? Some default behavior of PHP?? Doesn't seem likely...

I have put it in bug reports...

A var_dump() of $pages_listing right after it is created shows only records for one page, when it ought to show multiple pages worth. Unfortunately, I don't have test sites for v1.3.9h or v1.5.0 any more to compare.

I have an earlier version of my site on another server...same setup exactly zen cart wise, which was working fine. I just visited this old one, which has sat quiet for about three months, and it is not working now. That hosting company (Justhosts) informed me a couple of months ago that they were upgrading their servers. Worked before the upgrade. Exactly the same toc problem now.

Here's a very quick fix.

in includes/modules/pages/page/header_php.php

find the lines

$pages_ordering = $db->execute($pages_order_query);

$pages_listing = $db->execute($pages_order_query);

while (!$pages_ordering->EOF) {
  $vert_links[] = $pages_ordering->fields['pages_id'];
  $pages_ordering->MoveNext();
}

and change to

$pages_ordering = $db->execute($pages_order_query);

while (!$pages_ordering->EOF) {
  $vert_links[] = $pages_ordering->fields['pages_id'];
  $pages_ordering->MoveNext();
}

$pages_listing = $db->execute($pages_order_query);

It's a weird bug related to some object cloning/mysql resource weirdness !!
Still investigating further.

For those having problems with v139h, can I ask if you have data_diggers queryCache installed.

Hi Wilt...no query cache installed for me..have asked justhost to let me know what upgrades they did on the server...should hear soon

I did add recommended caching to my .htaccess file a couple of weeks ago on my current site....but my legacy site on justhost has none....the behaviour on both is the same

Not sure what you mean by 'recommended caching'

Do you have any other sql caching enabled.
e.g.
define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'file');
or
define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'database');

in your configure.php

both config defines are as follows
define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'none');
define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/var/www/vhosts/us_big number.dynamiccloudserver.info/httpdocs/cache');

Although it still leaves me a bit stumped as to the cause.

On my local machine, I get the error in v1.5.1, but not v139h or v150.

Can I just double confirm some stuff.

Firstly this is definitley a 139h site.
Secondly, you do not have datadiggers query cache installed
thirdly, do you have any other plugins installed that might alter the core queryFactory code.

sorry if I have asked those questions before, but just trying to eliminate some stuff, and find some commonality between those experiencing the problem.

And finally, on the fix that I posted. I'm glad it works for people, but at the moment I have no idea why it works :blink:
and that makes me sad :(
