Having trouble with new template.

Please excuse my ignorance. I'm new to zencart...

So I bought and "intalled" this template. Unfortunately, everything seems elongated and unclean. Some images overlap others. I must be doing something wrong here. Here is my website: http://brillarmory.com/

Here is the template demo: http://templates.entheosweb.com/template_number/live_demo.asp?TemplateID=42335

So I suppose my question is, how do I get my site to look like the template?

Thanks.

Re: Having trouble with new template.

Hi, please excuse my ignorance... I'm new to zencart and ecommerce in general.

So I bought and installed this template: http://templates.entheosweb.com/template_number/live_demo.asp?TemplateID=42335

And my site looks like this: http://brillarmory.com/

As you can tell, everything looks stretched out. Images are overlapping and a lot of the buttons are missing. My question is this: how do I get my site to look like the template in the demo?

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You should get support on your template from the vendor you bought it from.

If I do that, it may cost $50...

Re: Having trouble with new template.

Is there a reason why I can't edit or delete my posts??

Anyway, I am thinking of reinstalling zen cart and installing the template a second time. Think this might work?

Re: Having trouble with new template.

At least part of your problem may be your admin settings for the left sidebox column width. It may need to be increased in Admin - Configuration - Layout Settings. Get that right and we'll see about the rest.

You can only edit a post for seven minutes after you create it, and you can't delete one.

Re: Having trouble with new template.

Looks just the same to me. Try setting both left sidebox column widths to 200px.

Re: Having trouble with new template.

Also, I don't have any buttons on top of my page like the standard template does. No fading images either

Not sure what you mean by this. Your site looks similar to the template demo.

You have to understand that the template demo is of a complete Zencart site. The buttons at the top are EZ page links. You will need to create actual EZ pages before that will appear on your site.

Mine is too large and some images and text look pixelated.

Sorry, I'm not seeing this in Firefox.

The circled areas are images Zencart uses for those links. I'm guessing that Template Monster selected CSS buttons in (again) Layout Settings. Was there a SQL statement included with your template files you neglected to run ?

Yeah the website looks bloated in Chrome, but looks trim and neat in Firefox. I wonder why that is.

Not sure about the SQL statements. I'll check them out.

Re: Having trouble with new template.

I've made a tremendous amount of progress on the site, thanks to your help and my research.

I'm almost done. I've just encountered a small problem with text. For some reason, when a customer logs in, the text changes. Anyone know how to fix this?

Re: Having trouble with new template.

Also, the fields (where customers enter their information) is very faint and hard to see. Anyone know how I can make these a little easier to see?

Re: Having trouble with new template.

I don't know what you mean by 'the text changes'. I created an account, and don't see any changes.

You could add something like this to your stylesheet:

#loginDefault input {border: 1px solid:}
