Does an Affiliate program have SEO benefits?

Hi - aside from the potential of increasing sales does an affiliate program have SEO benefits? When an affiliate advertises my products does that bring SEO benefits to my site?

cheers,
Mike

Re: Does an Affiliate program have SEO benefits?

Actually, mostly opposite. Affiliates tend to duplicate content, use lame, small and meaningless content which is then linked to your sites pages for more of a downward and less trusted effect.

To get the sales and not the problems, create an affiliate store on another domain.
