Zencart Forum Activity

This is sort of off topic but I am still wondering why.

For some odd reason, I was looking at my profile the other day. I have been a member of this forum for over 10 years! Man, time can really fly. However, I also noticed a distinct falloff in forum posts. I remember logging in almost every day for a while and there would be so many new posts that I could never read them all. Now, its way down. Any thoughts as to what is going on? I know than ZC is not for everyone has you have to have a serious technical bent to work with it. But, it is still not super hard to do for basic installs ESPECIALLY with the newer plugins that are fully override driven. Any thoughts?

I was worried that I would fill the Pub up before someone would respond or post their own thread.

It appears we lose people when their business starts to pick up and they then make the move to a paid cart. (Which in a way happened to me but 3D Cart didn't work as advertised :censored:).... And we lose people when their business dies.... Maybe it
might be a good idea for ZC to have a paid version where most mods are installed and users do not have to worry about upgrades? They can get some host to commit to doing this and then offer this as an option.... get them some higher priority assistance with bugs (no mods) or allow them to pay for new features in the existing. When I see most ZC Helpers wanting $1000 to upgrade the system I can understand why people would be happy to pay $50/month to not have to worry about the yearly upgrade.... and maybe have a prettier store....

2.0 has been shelved and I don't know if it will ever be brought back to life.... I am not sure that a road plan exists other than to keep what is running running. It would be great to hear something.

It has become more quiet here also because a lot of the high contributors have died.... :no: or left to greener pastures....

I have all these ideas for ZC .... I wish I could have them for my business :(

I am sad to see this quite frankly. I love this group and the service that they provide. With the cost of reliable hosting going up each day and the cost of store "help", I could not get my wife's new company off the ground if it were not for ZC.

For all you that continue to work on this project, Thank You! I know that probably does not get said enough. It really upsets me when I see someone here trying to help and the OP gets ugly...oh how I want to respond to that. You guys are great!
