Meta tag setup

I just noticed something I've never seen before. On the page to set up meta tags for a product, there is a yes or no check box for "defined constant SITE_TAGLINE". I don't find anything in the documentation about it. Which do I choose? and why?

Re: Meta tag setup

In the file includes/languages/english/your_template/lang.meta_tags.php find SITE_TAGLINE

The value defined between the quotes

'SITE_TAGLINE' => 'This is my tagline',

The switch that you found can be investigated here (https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/admin_pages/catalog/products_meta_tags_editor/)

For example switch on Product Name & defined constant "SITE_TAGLINE" will make your product pages title in the catalog display like so.

<title>Product Name : TITLE SITE_TAGLINE</title>

These settings can be changed globally for all products in Product Types > Layout Settings >> select product type

Then

Product page <title> tag - default: use Title Additional Text
Product page <title> tag - default: use Product Name
Product page <title> tag - default: use Product Model
Product page <title> tag - default: use Product Price
Product page <title> tag - default: use SITE_TAGLINE

Re: Meta tag setup

So, if I set it to no - it will use the meta tag for that product. If I set it to yes - it will use the meta tag for the site?

Re: Meta tag setup

Under Configuration >> Product Info you can set these bits globally, for all products.

In Catalog >> Product Types >> Layout Setting you can set these by product type globally.

In each product's Edit Meta Tags button you can set these individually at a product level.

Not setting any of these will make your cart use the default configuration.
