Update on website/admin pages problems

Ok, I have a problem myself and my developer can't seem to figure out. It is happening on both the website and the admin page. It seems to not want to show the updates on the products/folders in the admin. It does it in the item listing, folder names, item tag section, even small updates like renaming a folder. It does it about 60% of the time. On the main website page, it does it when customers are trying to checkout. They add a part, go to the cart to check out, create a profile or login in, and click continue checkout. At that time, it takes them back to the login page, and doesn't let them continue. If by chance they go back to the cart, sometimes it shows their items, sometimes it doesn't. Help! I am at my wits end here...

What version of Zen Cart & PHP? Any plugins?

Off the cuff I would say sounds like a server issue... Did you check logs?

This somewhat reminds me of an issue I had a couple of years ago.

You also haven't mentioned if you've made any recent changes that may have caused this (and this was my scenario - I hadn't) but my zen cart started functioning weirdly all of a sudden. Obviously something had changed on my hosting platform but the solution did bring me into the future.

The latter part of your issue reminds me of this, but not the earlier stuff you mention however.

In your configure.php, do you have HTTP_SERVER set as HTTP or HTTPS? If not make sure both these lines have https on your url and see if that helps?

v1.5.5f. No plugins that I know of, but I am not sure. This has been going on for about a year now. We were trying to update to V1.5.8 but it isn't allowing us to do so.

I will have my developer check. It seems like every time I turn around, I have some kind of nuance problem, with it being hosted on Go Daddy

Server settings are correct. It is a login time out issue. Any idea where/what I have to do to fix that?

Regurgitating what @mprough asked in post #2 of this thread. It sure sounds like your webhost has "pulled the plug" on the PHP version the site's running on.

To check, create a teeny .php file with some obscure file name in the root directory of the site (like xyzzy.php), containing:

<?php
phpinfo();

... and then run that script: https://yoursite.com/xyzzy.php.

That will spit out the current PHP version being used. Report that version back and don't forget to remove the script from your site's root directory.
