Next Step after new Install with Demo Data

Using Zencart 2.2.1, PHP 8.4, phpMyAdmin 1.5.3, and an empty database, I did a new install with no issues on my Wamp server. I chose to update to 2.2.1 rather than doing an intermediate update to 1.5.8. Next step of course is to bring the database from my version 1.57d, PHP 7.4, phpMyAdmin 1.5.2 into this new build. I am confused as to the steps necessary: Do I use the existing 1.57d database with no mods, or do I import the tables from the existing 1.57d database into the database that was created with this new build? I’m a SQL novice, and if the choice is to use the database from the new build, how does one go about removing the demo data along with any tables that won’t be used with my live data?
Thanks in advance

Re: Next Step after new Install with Demo Data

  • Backup 1.5.7 database
  • Point your configure files to the 1.5.7 database
  • Run zc_install. This will upgrade your 1.5.7 database to 2.2.
