Did an upgrade to 2.2. Computer and Ipad look good. Categories except for one are not showing on mobile

I brought back my database from 2.1
But if I try to upgrade the db to 2.2, the same thing happens.
I want to upgrade to 2.2 to get the plugin for the upgraded paypal payment - restful and I can't do that on2.1
