Sefu That Just Works - continued..

This is to kick off the SEFU thread here, as I have an answer to the last poster here:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14132&page=9999

I accidently left the .htaccess file from my package for zen cart 1.2.7. You can now download the full package from the Modhole (link below).

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

Okay, 3 posts in a row.. I think Im talking to myself.. Here is my htaccess info and then my config file.. I am not sure which line to overwrite and what i include.. I dont want to mess it up so can you tell me which things I need to change?

RewriteEngine on

set RewriteBase to DIR_WS_CATALOG

RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^pages-(.+).html index.php/pages-$1 [L]

Uncomment the next three statements if you want to go to the main page in case an URL is entered that requests a non existing file.

#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
#RewriteRule ^(.*) . [R]

Uncomment the next two statements to have http://yourserver.com/ automatically redirected to http://yourserver.com/pages-main/index.html

NOTE: THIS MIGHT ACTUALLY HINDER SITE INDEXING

#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.)/$
#RewriteRule ^(.
) pages-main/index.html [R]

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/1.2.7bugsecurityfix/admin/');
define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/1.2.7bugsecurityfix/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/1.2.7bugsecurityfix/admin/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/1.2.7bugsecurityfix/');

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

I think the instructions provided by Tim Kroeger are pretty straight forward. I personally have only installed it in a store with Zen Cart in the http root directory, so have not needed to change the .htaccess file from default.

Follow the instructions, tool around a while and suprise yourself. If you have any problems, the old SEFU thread (see link at beginning of this thread) is a mile long, and should have the answer to most issues you will encounter.

If you get stuck after following the above, post back here and someone will be able to help I'm sure.

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

This module is Tim Kroeger's baby - http://www.breakmyzencart.com/

I have simply provided a version for 1.2.7 until such time as tim updates SEFU for this version. You would need to check his site for any other version.

Assuming that you want to use Ultimate SEO url proted by Dreamscape, it works great with 1.3 if you use DrByte's version with one minor modification which is posted in the Ultimate SEO url thread.

The only thing to keep in my is the Ultimate SEO url is not well supported. If you can get Tim Kroeger's version that might be better. Tim is excellent when it comes to support and releasing compatible version as new ZC upgrades are released.

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

Im giving up with this one.. I dont know enough about changing things with the htaccess file to get it to work.. I dont know about uncommenting or any of that so the instructions are pretty useless.. I will try the other one I have seen in the posts and see if I can get that one to work instead... Thanks..

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

Hi!!! This mod is amazing, congrats to Tim because of his effort!

I have a little problem, my zc is 1.2.6, so I installed SEFU v0.5-beta2. But for some reason I cannot see "meaningful names", all of my products links end like "pages-productinfo/category-7/product-18/index.html".

In the instructions it says that a switch can be found in Admin->Configuration->My Store, is named 'Render meaningful filenames fur SEFUs', but I dont see that link.

Im sure this is related to the SEFU.sql file, since after uploading it using the "Install SQL patches" I got back this error:

Success 7 statements processed.
Error ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
Error ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
Error ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
Error ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
Warning Note: 4 statements ignored. See "upgrade_exceptions" table for additional details.

Can anyone help me with this?
Regards,
Mike

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

First of all any good tips how to find out which version I'm running? I'd rather uninstall the whole mod since it propably messes the paypal ipn any way to simple do it? or if I can find out which version I'm running and get it up to date could some one guarantee it would work with paypal ipn?
Im still on 127. thanks

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

I have Tim's SEFU working fine under 1.3x but I have not posted the minor changes required as I expected Tim would be posting a new version soon. (basically you just have to take the code that used to be placed in application_top.php and move it to includes/init_includes/init_sefu.php and also move the function sefu_path2parameters() there as well and use Tim's version of zen_href_link() and it all works fine for me.)

If this is too confusing PM me and I will send the file set I am using successfully.

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

I see a large number of posts indicating these may not work with Paypal. I was wondering if anyone knows if this will work with a paypal webpayments pro mod installed.

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

We use Tim's SEFU under 1.27d without problems and we have a test store working using the 1.3 fileset I mentioned but I have not yet had time to test it with Paypal. It is on my todo list for later this week. You can install it and if there are issues you can always turn SEFU off until a fix is posted. Since I haven't had time to test it I would appreciate feedback as to where there are problems or not?

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

Not only does JeffD's fileset work wonderfully with 1.3, but he is about the most helpful person I've met on this site when it comes to assistance with problems.

Thanks a ton JeffD!

Re: Sefu That Just Works - continued..

Question regarding how sefu works.

I have SEFU installed with my zencart 1.3 using JeffD's fileset. It works wonderfully when I wander around my site, creating meaningful names ending in .html. When I go to my admin section and see "whos online" however, bots such as shopwiki and google always display that they are on pages like blahblah.html?zenid=blah9908009

How are the bots indexing the pages? are they just getting blahblah.html or the whole thing. If they get the whole thing, then why don't I when I navigate through the site?

If someone could give me a more clear picture of what is going on I would be very thankful.
