Free Shipping > $100

What is the simplest method to providing free shipping for orders greater than $100?

Im a minor code monkey so I can carve my own path, but would hate to waste my time if a MOD (or if the current software) already does it.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: Free Shipping > $100

You can do this in:
Admin/modules/shipping
Change it to be free if order total is over $100

Hope that helps

Re: Free Shipping > $100

Their is the "FREE SHIPPING MODULE"..... for it I have;
FREE SHIPPING

Enable Free Shipping
True

Free Shipping Cost
100

Handling Fee
0

Tax Class
--none--

Shipping Zone
Australian Zones

Sort Order
0

But it doesnt seem to work.. ?_?

Any ideas?

Oddly when I "Remove" that module I get an error at the top of the page?
"Warning Shipping Configuration errors!
Warning: 0 weight is configured for Free Shipping and Free Shipping Module is not enabled"

Re: Free Shipping > $100

Goto admin/modules/order total
There you can set the free shipping for order totals over a certain amount, that should work fine.

You just set the Free Shipping Module to charge $100

Free Shipping Cost
100

To add Free Shipping on Order Totals >= $100.00 be sure to use the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ... and enable the Free Shipping and set the amount to $100 in there ... :smile:

Re: Free Shipping > $100

I am also trying to get free shipping < $100 to work. When I set [admin-modules-shipping-free shipping options ] like so

Enable Free Options Shipping
True
Shipping Cost
0.00
Handling Fee
0
Total >=
100.00
Total <=
Weight >=
Weight <=
Item Count >=
Item Count <=
Tax Class
--none--
Tax Basis
Shipping
Shipping Zone
--none--
Sort Order
1

I do not get free shipping in my checkout as an option if the total is > $100.

I followed this thread and looked into [admin-modules-order totals]
and I get this

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/outdoors/public_html/catalog/includes/modules/order_total/ot_gv.php on line 29
Modules Sort Order Action
COD Fee ot_cod_fee
Discount Coupon ot_coupon Info
Group Discount ot_group_pricing Info

This is the line referred to:

$this->checkbox = $this->user_prompt . '<input type="textfield" size="6" onchange="submitFunction()" name="cot_gv" value="' . number_format($_SESSION['cot_gv'], 2) . '" onfocus="if (this.value == \'' . number_format($_SESSION['cot_gv'], 2) . '\') this.value = \'\';" />' . ($this->user_has_gv_account($_SESSION['customer_id']) > 0 ? '<br />' . MODULE_ORDER_TOTAL_GV_USER_BALANCE . $currencies->format($this->user_has_gv_account($_SESSION['customer_id'])) : '');

Can someone please help.

Thanks

Re: Free Shipping > $100

What version of Zen Cart are you using ...

I am having no issues with this and the Free Shipping Options will display with all of the other Shipping methods as soon as the Total hits $100.00 ...

I am running 1.3.0.2 everything else seems to work great.

This is what is really concerning me (see previous post):

Re: Free Shipping > $100

I'd try reloading the files for:
/includes/modules/order_total

/includes/languages/english/modules/order_total

And see if you just have a bad or corrupt file ...

Re: Free Shipping > $100

No effect.

I am starting to think that I am not upgrading properly.

I FTP the changed files to my cart (overwriting qwhats there). I then run the install (zc_install\index.php).

I perform the database upgrade

I do not click the install button (I did this in a test environment and it cleaned out my databse) so I thought this was the wrong way to upgrade.

Am I not upgrading properly ?????

Re: Free Shipping > $100

Hi guys -

Thanks for getting back to me :D

Dr. Byte -

I did a fresh install of 1.3.

Upgraded with the FTPed changed files only and just performed DB upgrade (did not click the install button)
from 1.3 --> 1.3.0.1 and then
from 1.3.0.1 --> 1.3.0.2.

Superprg -

Yes https://www.aurora-outdoors.com is the site.

The plot sickens...

I have another site that I upgraded the same way but did NOT have the problem in [admin-modules-order totals] module. In testing I was able to get the free shippping > $100 to work (however with this enabled there was not any other options for shipping displayed, and from reading other threads I think there is supposed to be a choice of FREE or the paid options also) - Is this correct ?

Anyway, I copied all the relevant files from the working site (www.aurora-museum.com\catalog) to aurora-outdoors.com and that did not fix the problem.

I did notice that the sites differed in the fact that the working one had not issued any gift certificates and the broken one had. I manually emptied (truncated) all the coupon related tables and the error went away.

Have I upgraded incorrectly?
Should there be other shipping options along with the FREE one.
I dare not issue issue anymore coupons now :dontgetit

Thanks in advance....

If you didn't do these steps, then you're missing things:

  1. v1.3.0-full-fileset
    plus
  2. v1.3.0.1-changed-files-only
    plus
  3. v1.3.0.2-changed-files-only

I did all of the quoted steps.
Full fresh from scratch v1.3
and then upgraded to 1.3.0.1 and then to 1.3.0.2.

What I am confused about is the 1.3.0.1 and 1.3.0.2 upgrades

  1. I copied over all the changed files
  2. Ran the install (zc_install/index.php)
  3. During the install routine I clicked the Upgrade DB button

I believe there was also an "Install" button at the bottom of the screen next to the "DB Upgrade". When I took that path it cleaned out my db, so I assumed that was not the upgrade path.

There may have also been a third button/option between the "Install" and "Upgrade DB", I can't remember now.

After clicking the "DB Upgrade" button - the install said it completed successfully, the server version says 1.3.0.2, and the check for upgrade button in admin says Im current.

Should I have done something more during the 1.3.0.1 and 1.3.0.2 upgrades ?

What you described is fine from a database-perspective.

You didn't talk about what you did with respect to files.

If you install a temporary copy of a fresh 1.3.0.2, can you reproduce the problem? Ajeh indicates that it seems to be working properly for her. Perhaps something else is contributing to the problem...

With respect to files -
I took all the directories included in the "zen-cart-v1.3.0.2-changed_files_only" zip file - [admin / docs / email /includes / zc_install] and FTPed them directly on top of (overwrote) those files on the server. (I had only 1 file that had to be merged).
Same for the 1.3-->1.3.0.1 upgrade (with the appropriate zip upgrade).

Can you clarify the red quote above, I am not sure what you would like me to try, but I am will try anything.

In the mean time I will try to break it again.

Thanks

Re: Free Shipping > $100

You could always get Beyond Compare from scootersoftware and do a nice FTP compare of the Full Zen Cart v1.3.0.2 and your site to see where something could be off on the files ...

I am not sure if Beyond Compare offers FTP compare in the trial version or not ... but this is a tool I could not live without ... :smile:

Re: Free Shipping > $100

After purging the coupon db tables I have run numerous tests including:

admin-modules-shipping-free shipping options
(this one leaves the other shipping choices still available)

admin-modules-order total-shipping
(this defaults to free shipping - no other choices)

Two different options :thumbsup:

And various coupons scenarios - redeemed, not redeemed, etc...

Everything now works fine :shocking:

Something in the db tables related to coupons was the problem, but I have not been able to recreate the scenario.

So I am a happy camper :cool: or should i say zenner...

Thanks
