Wishlist !!

Hi all.

I am looking for a wishlist to incorporate into zencart. Whilst looking I came across this link whish sadly does not allow the download (it seems to be missing)

But if you go to the site he talks about, there is indeed a wishlist in zencart? anyone know where to get it.

If you want to see it in action, go to https://www.pinkpoppies.co.uk and create an account; then look at a product and you will see a button to add to wishlist. Go from there.

hi Ryk, tks for the help! I have tried ur site so now i know what's wishlist abt. :smartass: But unfortunately wish list is not actually what i thot it shld work....

Anyway, can u tell me how do i make that newsletter sidebox? I like my site to have it too... Pls help again...

hi Ryn, tks for replying but unfortunately mine is zen 1.3.5, so when i install it, there's prob... but i just PM the author to ask how... :cry:

PinkPoppies is on 1.3.6 and as you saw, it works there...although I vaguely recall there being a problem which was resolved by scouring these forums. Can't remember where though - sorry.

I have the mod installed on 1.3.6 Test store and everything is working fine, except the pesky $EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML in the email sent by the user -though the admin email copy works fine!

I did fix it before in 1.3.6 but then had to re instell the whole thing and forgot to take notes so now i'm back at "step 1" still trying to figure out where the fix is.

btw i followed on the http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38564 thread and seemed to have updated all files but to no avail...i'll recheck all and post an outcome as soon as i have time.

still no solution to

$EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML

I've reinstalled all UN_W files fixed the bugs....
still no complete email... did anyone fix this issue ?

This is mainly to Ryk, Im just installing the wishlist on version 1.3.6 but the most annoying thing is that i cant get the wishlist button to line up on the product page. What code did you use to put it on there and how did you do it??

The code is in the Wishlist readme.txt file. Make that into a DIV and give it its own ID.

Create a button if you're using buttons.

Use css to position.

Hi, Brilliant! not used to Zencart being css based, forgot all about it. Was still trying to put the code in a table.

Does anywone know how to view someone elses wishlist. Normally you could just come along, input someone's email address and view whats on thier list. Is this possible with this mod?

Now you've installed it, it would be a good idea to work your way through it! :laugh:

Ive had a good look around it but still unsure of how to view other peoples wishlists.

ones ive used before have simply asked for an email address and you can view the wishlist against that email address. On this mod it seems like you need to create an account or be refered from the actual person via email.

Or am i missing something.

What i would like to do is have a sidebox where you can input an email address and then that brings back that persons wishlist. Possible??

You have to have an account of your own to use the Wishlist facility; I guess what you want can be coded, but unless you can do it yourself, you'll either need to wait for a volunteer or go to the Commercial Help wanted section....hang on, there was something ELSE in the readme I think....nope, must have been thinking of something else.

What would happen if you just hardcoded a link in one of the sideboxes like

/index.php?main_page=un_wishlist_find

Which is the link to enter just an email address to look for a wishlist. What problems would this cause??

You'll probably get redirected via the login page..but why not try it and see?

i tried it and it seems to work, im just unsure on how al the zenID etc stuff works. I cant see that it would be a problem.

Found another little problem aswell in all my testing.

When i click on 'Add to wishlist' on the product page i get sent to the login area, after i login nothing is added to my wishlist. Is this the same on your site aswell or have i missed something else too?

Your help really is appreciated. This is thelast bit of customization i need to finish before my site goes live.
