My checkout has fallen and it can't get up!!!

The shipping estimator doesn't work and when I click on continue with checkout on Step 1 it just reloads the step 1 page????? I haven't slept in two days when I found this problem, any ideas on where to start looking for the problems(s)????

And I believe the version is 1.3.7, it is the newest one.

That looks like an upgrade that went bad ...

Can you recheck that you have upgraded all of your files, stylesheet and database correctly?

Also check your settings in Shipping/Packaging for 0 weight products ... if 0 weight means Free Shipping be sure that you have the Free Shipping freeshipper shipping module installed ...

Ok I checked the shipping/packaging options and they "look" fine to me. I only have the ups and free shipping module although nothing will be free to ship.

As far as the upgrade gone bad????
I started out with ver 1.3.7 so I haven't upgraded zen-cart. I have added some mods to it but nothing that has to do with shipping or check-out.

Still lost as to what else I might need to check?

ok I just installed the usps module and put in my user id and called them and had it switched to the production server and it isnt working along with the ups module.....

Ok here is another update, if I install the flat rate module, on the check-out screen it will produce a radio button and allow me to select that. Unfortunately that option wont actually work. I can't get the ups or usps modules to produce a quote and I think that is why those are obviously not selectable. Which is also why it wont go past step 1 of checkout because it doesn't have a shipping option selected. At least that is the guess so far.

How did you install your Zen Cart v1.3.7?

Did you download it from our Download link at the top of your screen?

That template that you are using, did you make it from the base template or was it premade?

You are missing classes it appears in your stylesheet and I am seeing what appears to be breaks in the display on create account/login ...

If you look in your Admin ... Server Info ... do you only see references to Zen Cart v1.3.7?

Modules such as USPS and UPS need an address before a quote will show in the Shipping Estimator ...

If you go to the Shipping Estimator and enter a Country State and Zip code, do they show?

Do your products all have weight?

Are they marked Always Free Shipping?

In the Shipping/Packaging, is 0 weight set to be Free Shipping? If so, do you have the Free Shipping freeshipper shipping module installed?

If 0 weight does not mean Free Shipping, fix this setting ...

Ok now I am confused, at first I used my hosting services "one click installer" for zencart but it had "marginal" results so I deleted the entire directory and manually installed it from the download on this site. When I log into my admin it says that I have the most current version which I thought was 1.3.7 HOWEVER now when I go to admin..server info it says that it is version 1.3.6??????

As far as the addresses go yes, I have my address and the store address and during checkout it ask for a zipcode and I have tried not only mine but some others around here. I though maybe having the same zipcode for both the destination and store might be confusing it.

None of my products have weight themselves yet, however I do have the tare weight set to 3 pounds so it defaults to a three pound package for now. I had the free shipping mod installed but have taken it back off to see if that helped. I have all the free shipping options turned off that I know of.

Destination I have tried 75791, 75757, 75701, 75707.

The only alterations I have made to the stylesheet was fonts and colors. I did not delete anything.

Do I need to try to reinstall zencart to get it back up to 1.3.7? I don't really want to lose the progress I have made but I would rather do it now then after putting in a 1000 products or so....?

Sounds like you have a problem ... in that you have two versions loaded ...

If you back up your database and website ... can you reload all the files from a clean Zen Cart v1.3.7 from the Download link at the top of your screen ...

Then run the /zc_install and do an upgrade database ...

This should get you reset on everything to be one version ...

If you are using the templates and overrides correctly you should not lose any customization ...

Then check your stylesheets to the new stylesheets for any new classes, specifically:

}
.visibleField {
display: inline;
}

those are used to manage the address info on the dropdowns and input boxes where addresses are used ...

Ok Well thank you so very much for the info, I will go ahead and re-install with a database upgrade. I THINK I have used the templates and overides correctly, guess I am about to find out. lol, I hope.

Ok completed the re-install and YIPPIE!!!! didn't lose anything lol.

I checked for the hidden field and visible field entries in my includes/templates/CUSTOM/css folder and they were both there. Is there another css stylesheet I should be checking because neither of the shipping (usps or ups) is pulling a quote yet.

One question that I had was, do these modules depend on Fsock being open or sendmail turned on, because my wonderful hosting service has yet to turn these on? They are "working" on it..........

Forgot to mention that yes, under server info everything is registering as 1.3.7

Also I even tried going in an making the weight on every product as 1 pound plus the 3 lbs tare weight and that didnt help any either.

Where did you see the v1.3.6?

Go to the Modules ... Shipping ...

Which modules are installed?

Do they have green, red or yellow status icons on them?

Where I saw the 1.3.6 was under server/version info when you asked me to look at it.

The only modules I have green lights on are the usps and ups modules the rest are red.

Uninstall all of the modules ... then reinstall just what you want to use and reconfigure ...

Be sure to NOT add any Zone settings ...

Ok I reinstalled the shipping mods however about the zones.
I only added a zone definition for the state of Texas as to be able to add sales tax to orders shipped inside of Texas. I went thru all the settings and did not see where it excluded shipping to anywhere else. Do I need to delete this, and if so how do I put in the tax?
