Login is LOOPING for some customers

I've seen several similar threads on this issue, but there have been no, or limited responses to resolving it. Most of our customers can log in and purchase products without a problem. However, some get stuck in a loop trying to login to make a purchase.

My research both with our customers and in the forums, bring back several references to Vista and AOL. The only consistant "possible" resolution I've found mentioned is changing the Recreate Session Settings in ADMIN-Sessions to FALSE. I did that on Friday last week, and was today that a customer called the store on Sunday to report the issue again - so it appears the Session Settings didn't resolve the problem.

Here's our site. Does anyone have any further ideas to resolve this matter? I can only imagine how much it has cost us in lost sales, and I know I'm not alone, as there are a significant number of people with the same issue posted in other forums that still haven't found the answer!

Thanks!

The review3 subdomain was created as a development site for the actual site before we found ZC and started to customize it. The quick fix to make the real domain live was to mirror the subdomain, and we just haven't moved everything over yet. Just trying to get my head around the best way to accomplish it without causing too many issues.

Re: Login is LOOPING for some customers

Have you tried testing it with the Classic template and the STOCK create account code?

Re: Login is LOOPING for some customers

I can see that you have a t least one custom field on the login page - Use the original file and test using it.

What are all of your settings for the Customer Authorization?
BTW I just created an account - okaying it would be helpful for testing.

Re: Login is LOOPING for some customers

Hi, I don't want to put you in the wrong direction but when I first went on line with my 1.3.7 site , I temporarily had it forwarding to another domain\subdomain.

Ie: https://www.mywebsite1.com got re-directed by me at the internet provider level to
www.myotherwebsite.com\catalog.

One of my users created an account in front of me and arrived to the main welcome page ok. However as soon as she clicked on another link, got kicked out to the login page.

I noticed in IE that there was a no entry icon bottom right... Like it was a forbidden site !
As soon as I moved my site to https://www.mywebsite1.com and stopped the forwarding , my problems went away.

So I think that you may need your users to add your site to their trusted sites ?

Hope this helps

hmm.. well the thing is i have normally been able to login and view the site .. i havn't really changed much and now i can't seem to login MOST of the time with the same browser/settings etc., i don't think its the same problem .. but then again i dont know much about zencart. thanks for the suggestions though... also it would be really inconvenient to ask all of my customers to do that so id want a workaround that too.

Re: Login is LOOPING for some customers

another thing i noticed is that i always seem to be able to log in the first time .. i went to a couple of other computers and logged on just fine .. however when i log off i cannot log back in again under any account. if i wait for about 15 minutes or so i can log back in .. but when i log off i can't back in until i wait.

very weird.

Re: Login is LOOPING for some customers

If it worked before and it doesn't work now and you didn't change anything then the place to ask is your host - Please find out what they changed - it is sounding like the sessions have to expire before you can login again - (sessions normally time out after 24 minutes)

Re: Login is LOOPING for some customers

okkk .. i THINK i found a solution that would help..

everytime i logged off i cleared all private data (cookies, authenticated sessions, history etc,.) and i was able to log on again using any username/password. it worked 5 out of 5 times so far ..

im not very good at zencart, but does this help come up with any kind of solution?
