Default EZ Pages - location and php scripts

I have a php script (custom email) that I'd like to use on an EZ page.

Is there a specific place I should save the scripts, and when I do so, is it likely to work (I am worried about my php script being embedded in the zencart php - is that allowed?

You can't put PHP in EZ pages natively. Some discussion here:

Could you use one of the built-in define pages, such as page 2, page 3, etc?

As a quickfix I have done it via an iFrame.

In a previous, unrelated post, it was recommended that in order for me to use a script that produces PHP in an EZ page, I should have the EZ page redirect to a common HTML web page that I would create; pasting in the code that the script creates.

I rather like the idea of an iframe. Is this doable? Or is the above mentioned better? If the iframe is ok, can someone tell me how to create this iframe?

It is certainly do-able, though of course the iframe houses a separate html page so it is a very similar arrangement.

HOWEVER, I believe iframe is no longer acceptable in the latest versions of HTML, so it works, but for how long . . .
