Product description unable to update contents

Hello,

I have problem with updating the product's description after editing. It came out blank content after clicking update. It was working fine in the past.
I'm currently using Microsoft Edge operation. I did try Chrome operation. Both are no help.

Please advise how can I solve this problem without upgrading to Zencart v1.5x

Without upgrading to ZC 1.5.x would require significant core and template code change based on the symptoms described. It is a response readily seen in sites using ZC 1.3.9 and below when PHP has been upgraded beyond the range for which it was developed. Maintaining a PHP version at the level necessary to continue operating under the existing ZC code is insecure and the site is/will be not protected from the issues identified and corrected in later/current versions of ZC. Also, it has been noted that customers may have difficulty completing the full check out, so if not wanting to upgrade, then either the significant code change (far easier to upgrade than do that) or shutting down the store would more than likely be a better solution if customers do have difficulty checking out...

If you want to temporarily maintain operation while you work on the upgrade (assuming customers still can checkout), then you could use phpmyadmin to repopulate the data needed/missing, though will have to write any html code necessary to provide the desired "effects". Or could use something like EasyPopulate v4 to upload the data, but again, if customers can not checkout (with all information being passed to the database), then back to the above "other" solutions.

Zen Cart v1.3.9 is (obviously) not compatible with PHP 5.4 and later. Check your webhost's cPanel tools. Most of the hosts now include a tool with which you can set an earlier version of PHP for your store while you plan your Zen Cart upgrade.

Thank you mc12345678. Upgrade is too much time consuming work. Any good tool suggestion for upgrading now?

Thank you lat9. This is best way for me thought. But my webhost doesn't support earlier than 5 version of PHP. They have 5.7v PHP now. BTW, customer check out still working fine right now so far.

Which html file can I edit it to add the product description content I want? This is only way before upgrading thought.

That is one of the items noticed on 1.3.9 carts after a php upgrade was installed - that in the admin if one opens a product file or a defined page to edit then all is lost and can not be re-entered...

Time to upgrade
