Default Add To Cart Button On Category Pages

On the category page, when your viewing all the products in a list format, you have an add to cart button appear for products that are in stock, and "more info" for the ones that aren't in stock.

One thing that does confuse customers is the fact that the only way to add a product to the cart, if your viewing products this way, is you have to scroll up and click "Add selected to cart"

Ideally it would be much better, to have an individual add to cart button for each product, that can be clicked to add the product to the cart, similar to what is set up for the individual product pages.

Have gone through the settings and can't seem to see anyway of enabling an add to cart clickable button for product category pages.

Not sure if this is possible, or whether this is something that would have to be coded in?

    Any feedback, would be appreciated!

    Kind Regards,

    Andy

Try setting Display Product Add to Cart Button = 1 on Admin > Configuration > Product Listing. You have it set to 2.

    Thanks swguy. Appreciate your input.

Tried this earlier, and unfortunately it didn't work. Tried it again, cleared the cache, and it still didn't work.

    Kind Regards,

What template are you using? Also, have you turned off Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status and Set Button Location ? (i.e. set this value to 0)

This is confusing, so let me put all the details in a single post. For the index listing page (category listing):

if Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status is 0 and Display Product Add to Cart Button is 1, a “Buy Now” button is shown on the listing page for each product. Only one of each product may be added at a time. These settings are found on Admin > Configuration > Product Listing.

This works as described in the responsive classic template in 1.5.8a.

    Thanks swguy. Appreciate your advise.

Using the responsive classic template in 1.5.8a, and changed the settings, as per what you have mentioned, and a "Buy Now" button appears next to all the products that are in stock.

Would I be right in thinking that if we reverted the changes that you have just mentioned, and go back to where the add to cart button appears next to each product, in the category view, with a default value of zero in each add box, that if we wanted to have an actual clickable "add to cart" button next to each box, instead of having to use the "Add selected to cart" that we would have to code this in somehow?

    Kind Regards,

    Andy

Set Display Product Add to Cart Button= 2 and Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status to 0.

Do your products have any attributes? I believe if you have ANY attributes associated with a product, the customer will have to go to the product. The "BUY NOW" will not show, because it shouldn't.

    Good point - more specifics:

    - if product is call, the buy now button will not show.

    - attributes (other than single valued attributes in more recent releases) will show More Info rather than Buy Now.
