You have pieces of functionality on your site (including tax-related things) that are not part of the default Zen Cart distribution code. I was looking for a list of things you've changed and customized. Sometimes customizations will be done via packaged "contributions" (sometimes referred to as "mods" or "addons"). Sometimes they'll just be custom coding.

What is my next step to solving this problem? Where should I look? I don't think I added anything or changed anything? Template was added, changed photos & things like that, but nothing else as far as I'm aware.

What files should I look at? Is it just not recognizing postal codes or what?

You've got something installed that's splitting taxes into multiple subtotal lines ... somewhat akin to the recently-posted SplitTaxLines contribution ... but which predates that contribution.

I suspect that whatever is being used to calculate taxes into separate line-items (instead of combining all taxes into one line like Zen Cart does at the present time by default) is having difficulties detecting zones correctly in order to apply taxes.

Taxes are calculated based on matching provinces. They have nothing to do with postal codes. Normally if the zone definition includes a province that matches the customer's shipping-address province, the tax will be assessed.
    Your site isn't doing that.
I suspect you have code-customizations that have busted that normal operation.

You'll have to put on your coder hat ... on top of your sleuth hat ... and go digging for what code customizations are installed and why. Here's one solid starting point/method: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...Obscure_Issues

I'm having the same thing happen with my shopping cart as well www.ifeelfroosh.com I just checked that in the Canada GST zone that all the provinces are included. I'm a store in Toronto and had a customer buy from Alberta. They were not charged any tax as well. I don't have any customization or modules added.

I just tried it from BC and changed my address to AB and had no problem. Charged GST on my "order" and shipping too (as it should be).

It could have to do with the way people enter their province. Test with AB, ALTA, ALBERTA etc.

Which files in Zen Cart normally control the calculation of taxes??

I'm trying to compare files, but I'm not sure where to find the files that I should compare....

I checked the obvious zones, tax rates & tax classes, but that was unsucessful
