Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
MODERATOR NOTE: This plugin is obsoleted by the new v4. See: http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?202135
Hi,
It gives me great pleasure to announce a new version of our Ceon Manual Card software for Zen Cart.
This version is considerably easier to install or upgrade than previous versions and has some much-requested new functionality (including surcharge/discount support).
An overview of the module and the full feature list follow:
Module Overview
This payment module provides everything a Zen Cart store needs to accept credit/debit card payments for inputting into a manual/offline card processing system.
It is reliable, capable and extremely easy to use, but is a very basic way to do business over the internet and is therefore recommended for use by tiny stores only. Anyone serious about selling on the internet should use a payment gateway.
Feature List
Support for many Card Types
- Each card type can be enabled or disabled at the click of a button inside the admin. Cards supported:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- Maestro
- Visa Debit
- MasterCard Debit
- American Express
- Visa Electron (UKE)
- Diners Club International
- JCB
- Laser
- Discover
- If you would like additional card types added please consult the FAQs in the documentation.
Can gather the following information:
- Card Holder's Name
- Card Type
- Card Number
- Expiry Date
- CV2 Number
- Start Date (Maestro/American Express)
- Issue Number (Maestro)
Sends Sensitive Data via E-mail
- The CV2 number and middle digits of the card number are sent in an e-mail to the store owner.
- This means that the full details don't need to be stored on the server and is by far the most secure way to collect card details for manual/offline processing.
- The rest of the details can be accessed at all times through the “Orders” section of the store's admin.
Surcharges/Discounts Support [NEW for 3.0.0]
- In collaboration with another of our modules, the Ceon Payment Surcharges/Discounts Order Total module:
- each Card Type can have an individual surcharge or discount rate specified which applies to all Order Values, or
- each Card Type can even have a full range of surcharge/discount rates specified, so that differing Order Value ranges result in differing surcharge/discount rates being applied!
- The rates for individual cards can even be different according to the country the billing address is in and/or the currency being used!
- This all means that store owners can pass the cost of accepting certain card types onto their customers, or offer their customers discounts for using particular card types.
- The Ceon Payment Surcharges/Discounts module can be downloaded for free from the Ceon website and is simple to use/integrate with stores!
Visual Feedback of JavaScript Validation
- In order to catch any problems with card details entered by the customer as quickly and easily as possible, this module will not only alert the customer to any incorrect information when they attempt to submit the form, it will actually highlight the form fields which require their attention.
- This helps to minimise the number customers getting frustrated and leaving at the last hurdle!
Icons for each Type of Credit/Debit Card Accepted
- If this option is enabled in the admin, icons are displayed for each credit/debit card accepted.
- This looks very professional for the store!
Cards Accepted Sidebox
- A “Cards Accepted” sidebox also comes with the module, allowing the dynamic display of icons for each type of credit/debit card accepted by the store.
- This lets customers know what card types are accepted even before they've reached the checkout stage.
Retains entered Card Details right throughout the checkout process
- If the customer returns to the payment page (for example, to change their shipping address, or if they realise at the confirmation stage of the checkout procedure that they have entered some incorrect information), the card details they entered previously will be automatically restored!
- This prevents any frustration with customers having to re-enter their details, something which unfortunately has to happen with most other payment modules.
- In turn this feature helps to prevent customers leaving at the last hurdle!
- An option is available to specify whether the details to be stored temporarily in the session should include the “sensitive” card details (Card Number and Card CV2 Number). If this option is enabled, these sensitive details are encrypted in the session using the Blowfish algorithm, to protect the confidentiality of the details as best as possible.
Automatically selects itself as the current payment method when customer uses any field
- Whenever the customer uses any of the Ceon Manual Card fields on the checkout payment page, the software automatically selects itself as the current payment method, saving customers time and frustration when they forget to select the payment method they are using.
Quick and Easy Installation or Upgrading [New for 3.0.0]
- Thanks to its automatic database creation functionality and automatic upgrade functionality, Ceon Manual Card is exceptionally easy to install or upgrade.
Dynamic Start Date and Issue Number support
- Certain cards (American Express) may need a Start Date to be supplied for authorisation to take place, while certain cards (Maestro) may need an Issue Number to be supplied.
- Ceon Manual Card dynamically displays the necessary form gadgets to capture this information from the user, based on the card types enabled in the admin.
Option to not even ask for a Start Date [New for 3.0.0]
- Some stores don't need to collect the start date from their customers. For this reason there is an option to remove the start date fields altogether, so the customer is not asked for it.
Support for cards without a CV2 Number
- A small minority of cards have no CV2 number. If a customer has filled in all card details except for the CV2 number, they can be given the option to indicate that their card has no CV2 number.
- This is totally automatic. The module can detect if a customer is trying to use a card without a CV2 number and will ask them to confirm if they have made a mistake, or to confirm that there is no CV2 number on their card. Otherwise they will be asked to correct their oversight.
- This is necessary for Laser cards as many of them tend not to have CV2 numbers.
Option to not even ask for a CV2 Number [New for 2.2.0]
- Some stores don't need to collect the CV2 number from their customers. For this reason there is an option to remove the CV2 number field altogether, so the customer is not asked for the card's CV2 number.
Ability to Disable Autocomplete
- Some browsers store credit/debit card numbers and/or CV2 numbers entered in the form fields and then automatically insert them in the form fields when a user returns to a website.
- This can be quite disconcerting to customers, so the option to have this browser feature disabled is offered (and set by default) by Ceon Manual Card.
Start/Expiry Date Format Specification
- The format of the text to be used for the Start/Expiry Date selection gadgets can be specified in the module's configuration.
Debug Output Mode
- Sometimes there can be problems with a store's settings. The debug mode allows you to see what information was to be sent, so you can check the settings. Most stores should never need this functionality though so it is disabled by default.
The module can be downloaded now from here.
It has also been submitted to the downloads area and should be available there soon.
Enjoy!
This is now the official support thread for the software.
All the best...

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Thank you for the mod update. Followed your instruction for upgrading from 2.0.0. All went well and now I wanted to remove old files. You said remove these:
admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/ceon_manual_card_functions_file_system.php
includes/auto_loaders/config.ceon_manual_cardDebugWarning.php
includes/classes/class.ceon_manual_cardCardValidation.php
includes/classes/class.ceon_manual_cardDebugWarning.php
includes/functions/extra_functions/ceon_manual_card_functions_file_system.php
Marked red are not there but files named:
ceon_file_system_functions.php
Is it a typo and they need to be removed instead? I know I can just leave them but I want to keep my installs as clean as possible. Thanks.

Argh. That is what those files were called in earlier versions. I'd meant to add the exact list of the files from later versions too.
Yes, if you aren't using any other old Ceon payment modules (which is unlikely if you are using Ceon Manual Card) then you can delete those files and have peace of mind! :)
I won't release a new version of the module just to update this tiny bit of the instructions but will change the instructions in the version of the distribution available on the Ceon site.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
All the best...

Hi Dirk,
Glad you like the software, thanks for the feedback, it was a lot of work so it's nice to hear something back about it! :)

Do you mean that you want to display a message about the surcharges? Rather than having problems displaying the surcharge amount? (If the second is the problem, please be sure you are using Ceon Payment Surcharges/Discounts 3.0.1 not 3.0.0 as it had a bug).
The define used to display a message about surcharges is the first define in the language file for Ceon Manual Card:
CEON_MANUAL_CARD_CUSTOM_SURCHARGES_DISCOUNTS_MESSAGE
in
includes/languages/english/modules/payment/ceon_manual_card.php
As with any other language define, you can copy this to your template directory before modifying it.
includes/languages/english/modules/payment/STORE-TEMPLATE/ceon_manual_card.php
This message gets displayed within the gadgets on the payment form, above the card type selection gadget.
All the best..

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Conor,
Just a quick note to give you some feedback on the manual_card
v.3.0.0
I have been testing ZenCart 1.3.9H
Server OS: Linux 2.6.18
Database: MySQL 5.5.9
PHP Version: 5.2.17 (Zend: 2.2.0)
On a "clean" install of ZenCart - no addons - the Manual_Card v2.2.2 and v3.0.0 both
appear to accept test card number 41111...
when the cart is NOT in maintenance mode
Is this by design ?
Best regards
Ken

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Is the following scenario possible with the Ceon Manual Payment module?
The admin order confirmation would include NO information other than something like "You have an order". That way no details of the card are being sent at all via email.
The credit card information would be stored in the admin section of the site - and of course in the database. Once the order is processed, the order would be purged from the database and no other record would be kept of any sensitive information.
We can do quite a bit of the PHP programming - just point me in the right direction?
Yes, I'm well aware of the risk of storing the information and I'd advise against it too :) However, we just need to capture the information for a custom batch processor that also plugs into a warehouse inventory and shipping application. The app has serious security controls built in and again - the info isn't stored beyond what it takes to process the card.
Thanks!

Hi Ken,
How are you?

The module doesn't connect to any sort of live service to actually verify that the card is real.. such a service costs money.
So it simply performs a LUHN check on the card number to make sure it complies.
I could add code to prevent the use of the 4111 number, but then there are thousands of such test numbers for gateways all round the world, all of which would pass the LUHN check.
So there's really no point.
If the store needs to make sure the card number is a real customer's card number before the order is created then they
shouldn't use a manual card module.
Hope that helps explain things.
All the best...

Yes but I won't comment it on it here, it is COMPLETELY illegal.
You should not do this. Tell the client to stop being cheap and to implement a gateway at the "batch processor".
You're on your own on this one. Please don't post any further questions about it here, it's not appropriate.

Thanks for your understanding. I'm sorry that I had to be as forceful but I really do think an alternative solution should be found.. I know of several Zen Cart owners who have been fined over $30,000 for the kind of thing you want to do, when things went wrong!
Unfortunately Zen Cart has proven itself to be very hackable over the past few years and that puts any stored details at serious risk. Not so much with 1.3.9, but 1.3.8a was a disaster in this regard. :(

I very much appreciate your reply.
I very much appreciate the ZC communtity and the help/information I have received over the years.

Perhaps, you have me confused with the person that wanted to store CC info ...
Anyway , hope you have a good weekend

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
We're in test mode upgrading to Zen Cart v1.3.9h; therefore, we need your Ceon module (Thank you for this module!).
What I can't accomplish (small non-profit---no techie on staff, which leaves me  ) is in v1.3.8a we received [NEW ORDER] Order Confirmation emails that had 1st 4 digits of CC and last 4 digits. Then we'd get the [EXTRA CC ORDER info] email.
Since installing Ceon Our [NEW ORDER] Confirmation email only comes through with last 4 digits.
Am I missing a setting to get New Order email to come through as mentioned above? Or does your Ceon not provide this information? Which leaves our order processor without the details they need to charge the customer.
I know I can see it in admin panel, but we've never had to do three steps just to get CC number.
Appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanks,
Valarie

Zen Cart 1.3.9 removes the first 4 digits from the order e-mail (1.3.8 didn't do this obviously).
I know you haven't had to use three steps but you've been playing with your customers' (are non-profit customers still called customers I don't know? ;) ) security.. they'd be really upset if they found out you were posting their entire card details via e-mail.
It's illegal to do that here, I can't speak for where you are.
For peace of mind I'd stick with the three step process if I was you.
If you don't really care, then you can modify Zen Cart to have it add the 4 digits back in again.
I'm afraid that's up to you though, I won't tell you where the code is for legal reasons; I'm sure you understand, don't want to get into trouble for helping you. :)

Interesting, on my test site I upgraded and removed those files. Then my site went blank (white page). I had to put those old files (from 2.2.2 includes/functions/extra_functions/) back in order to get my site working again. What do you suppose is going on there?
-
Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Scrap that- I figured it out. Had a few old files from previous versions, had to remove those also (for anyone else having the same issue).

Quite simply you must have another old Ceon module that uses ceon_file_system_functions.php.. I'd suggest you update all the modules you are using as I don't think any of our modules have used that file in years!
Or be lazy and leave the file there, whatever suits!

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
In order to fix an issue I was having with the database I tried a couple of things including updating to 3.0. (I finally fixed that issue by removing and installing the module).
After upgrading to 3.0 I was greeted with nothing but a blank screen for all of zen cart. I eventually figured out that zen cart would work if I removed the /admin/includes/extra_datafiles/ceon_manual_card_database_tables.php file. But now without that file naturally I'm getting an error asking for it. Zen Cart seems to be working OK without the file but maybe I'm missing something. Should I go without a ceon_manual_card_database_tables.php file and ignore the error or will things be broken without it? If I need the file in place what do I need to do to make zen cart not be broken when the file is there?
-
Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Upload all the required files from the latest version. Then check you have removed the following (from older versions):
admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/ceon_manual_card_functions_file_system.php
includes/auto_loaders/config.ceon_manual_cardDebugWarning.php
includes/classes/class.ceon_manual_cardCardValidation.php
includes/classes/class.ceon_manual_cardDebugWarning.php
includes/functions/extra_functions/ceon_manual_card_functions_file_system.php
-
Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
I just double checked that I had all the latest files and made sure all of the old files in that list were gone but it still breaks whenever I upload the ceon_manual_card_database_tables.php file.

That makes no sense to me whatsoever, that file just contains a define for the database's table name.
Sorry, you'll require manual debugging for this. There's nothing else I can think of to suggest here other than to remove the software altogether and install it all over again.

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
First off, thanks for this amazing module! Will definitely donate once my online store takes off :bigups:
2ndly I have a question. This is kinda an email related questions. I use gmail, even though I can get an email with my domain name. I know gmail has a limit of how many emails you can send, so lets say one day I sent a newsletter to people and on that same day I get 10 orders. Will some of my emails not come to my inbox? I am not using the SMTP setting, I am using the default one?
Can you please give some recommendations. The only reason I ask is because one time I sent more then 500 emails(in the 2 bar) using gmail web broswer and a lot of the mail got blocked as spam.

That's obviously a question about gmail rather than the module but I don't see why you would have any restrictions placed on what you can receive just because you sent "too many" e-mails in a day.
However, I don't know why you would use gmail to send a newsletter anyway? You're better off sending directly from your website or using some sort of newsletter software.
Hope that helps.
If you have any questions about newsletter software, I'm sure there will be a more useful thread somewhere else on this forum (and there are loads on the net itself).. a quick search should help. :)

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Hello to all and thanks in advance for any assistance!
I have been using the ceon credit card processors module for more than a year with tremendous success for my client.
A few months ago (prior to v2.0) we had only 'lost' one set of middle digits and it was later found in the spam folder of all places.
After upgrading to v. 2.0 there have been two transactions where the middle digit information was not sent at all.
The cart processed several orders yesterday and everything worked fine and with exception of those two orders, we have never failed to receive the credit card info.
I am at a loss as to why the emails did not come through and I have checked more than once to make sure the spam folder did not receive any of them.
The orders were placed on different days completely but they were both placed at roughly the same time of day (within 15 minutes of each other).
I have no idea why that might affect things, but it was the only commonality between the orders.
Help! :)

That's not true.
They are always sent. You simply must not have received them.
This is an e-mail issue.
Sorry but the module doesn't send things sometimes and not at other times.. your e-mail server may fail or you may fail to receive the e-mail but the problem is not with the module.
I'm guessing you mistakenly said v2.0 in your post, obviously you should be on v3.0.0. If not, please upgrade, but it still won't "fix" the issue with your e-mail.
Hopefully you can get this e-mail issue fixed, otherwise (regardless, actually) I strongly suggest moving to using a proper payment service.

Sorry I wish I could be more helpful to you but the simple thing is that there are no "e-mail issues" with the software. It simply sends an e-mail, using the same code as the Zen Cart order completion code.
If there are "e-mail issues" they are with your server or your e-mail account, they've nothing whatsoever to do with Ceon Manual Card, so you can discount looking into it altogether.

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
I have a weird problem. I had a clean install of v1.3.9h with no offline credit card processing since they took this out with this version. Then I found thia Ceon payment manua. I downloaded the add on and installed and followed directions. The module appears to be shown now to the visitors. My problem is that visitor's payment options seem to show
-Credit/Debit Card
-Check/Money Order
-Credit Card
-PayPal checkout with PayPal. The safer, easier way to pay.
Notice that there are 2 areas for the user to enter credit card info twice.
This may be a dumb question, but can i chut one off?
I even disabled the ceon manual card payment module and it shows only the bottom credit card field.
Which may work but then the module shows as being activated.
Should I just reinstall? Any advice will help. Thank you,

The module is installed fine. You should enable the module, you'll then have "Credit/Debit Card" as an option in the list... this is indeed the standard title for Ceon Manual Card.
You should remove, or at the very least, disable whatever other module you have installed that is coming up with the "Credit Card" option. I think it's probably the "Authorize net" module.
That will then just have the Ceon Manual Card fields and the Check/PayPal options.
All the best..

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
How can I found out which module is causing this? Strange because there is no offline credit cart module on the 1.3h version of zen cart.
This 2nd "Credit Card" option option being displayed was never there before.
These are the only enabled modules:
ceon_manual_card - default
money order - default
PayPal - Processing
Paypal - Processing
When I remove every single module I am still left with this second off line credi card module add on.
Thanks for your help.

This is no longer appropriate for this thread, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Ceon Manual Card.
I'll take look at your site for you if you like, just send me FTP and admin details at this address.

My first idea was HACK! but since I have rec emails since then and have checked the route in the module This is not the case. I tried to figure out what I might have done incorrectly but nothing comes to mind.
I have read the above posting and I agree the module is perfect!!
So newbie question - when a glitch happens like this at the sever where do these emails go - do they just disappear? scrambled or get corrupted and therefore cannot get thru?
TIA

"newbie"? "Join Date: Jun 2009" ;)
Various things can happen. Your server can queue the mail for delivery and then have a problem actually sending the e-mail. Then maybe you don't catch bounces for the user being used to send these queued mails....
..or the e-mail left the server fine but your e-mail provider didn't receive it properly because of a fault at their end.. or they deleted the e-mail, thinking it was spam..
Basically, e-mail isn't a reliable way to guarantee communication.
Hope that sets your curiosity to rest a little.. regardless, as you've seen, this isn't anything to do with the software and, in a one way communication situation, there's nothing the software can do about it.
All the best...

Conor: I have lost approximately 5 emails over the past year or so, out of thousands of successful emails. Is it logical to enable this software to accept two email addresses in case one fails?

The software doesn't support that.
You can custom code it yourself to send multiple e-mails if you like (which would be easy but ill advised in my opinion), as that feature will not be added to the software.
If you have 3000 transactions a year you REALLY shouldn't be using a manual card module. You should be using a payment gateway, not least for your customers' security.

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
In the process of setting one up now (in addition to Paypal, which too many customers loathe) simply due to volumes and I suppose it does give the customer a bit more confidence. With regards to customer security I don't think the mod is inherently less safe than other methods, after all once a site is hacked alternative methods of payment are easily created and those gateways changed or disabled.

I agree in general, which is obviously why I think PCI is a bureaucratic waste of time, but if you prevent your server from being hacked, or provide a mechanism to keep a check on hacks (e.g. version control your files and watch for changes) then using a payment system API which uses a secure connection avoids issues such as plain text e-mails being intercepted. One less thing to worry about!
Anyway.. not really something to be discussed on this support thread.
Have a nice day.

Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
I've used this payment module for a few small sites, especially when we are just testing and debugging. I finished a new site www.aedstore.co and installed the module. It does NOT enter into the https mode while checking out. Tried reinstalling to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. SSL is active and functioning.

Reinstalling will do nothing.. this is nothing to do with the module.
Check your setting in includes/configure.php
If you are having any further trouble search the forum and I'm sure you'll find the solution (check .htaccess files etc.).

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
This is the problem I'm having:
I just upgraded my cart from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9 everything went smooth as far as I see. BUT cc payments are showing this on the order's page:
Quote:
No Order Payment Data Available
I know this is not the way it should be. I know that the order is paid and it shows the details to delete the CVV and the payment in green as part of the transactions detail (using super orders which I know works just fine with Ceon CC Payments).
All the previous CC transactions brought over from previous database version are showing just fine, but not the ones being done now. If I process the payment as a transaction on the order page, everything works fine (so it's not SO module) and I don't want to enter every payment to make the order "Paid" every time, I know that's not how is supposed to work.
I also have FCO installed but I disabled it and run a test order and same behavior is shown.
Any idea of what's going on?

Sorry, not a clue. Maybe someone else here has experience with super orders and can help this lady?
As you say, it's not to do with Ceon Manual Card, so it might be better starting a new thread altogether.

Well, I just did another test on my sandbox where I don't have super orders neither fast and easy checkout installed. ZC v1.3.9h and no modules installed that can be crashing with Ceon CC.
The result was the same, the order comes in as not paid and there's no link like previous version to "delete" the CVV (does that still on new version?).
I also did a test uploading the files that are not needed from previous order and got the blank page that someone mentioned (the whole admin goes blank), so the person that mentioned that was right.
Question: is there supposed to be any database patch? There's none on the package.
I haven't installed this new version on any of my customers, so I can't compare.

None of the problems you are describing are to do with Ceon Manual Card.
The text "No Order Payment Data Available" is not part of the software, and the facility to delete CVV numbers is not - and never has been - part of the software either.
This sandbox of yours clearly isn't a fresh copy of Zen Cart and does indeed have custom modifications which aren't working for you.
I'm afraid that if you require any further help with this I'd need FTP and admin details for the site to take a quick look.
Hope that information helps though.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Missed commenting on this before, but as I said before, you've done something wrong. If the admin goes blank then you have probably missed uploading a file.. check your cache folder for debug logs which will point towards what you've done wrong.
To be honest, I've no idea what you are talking about when you say "files that are not needed from previous order"... the grammar of this makes no sense?
Also, your question about the database patch would seem to imply that you haven't read the documentation that comes with the software. It would be advisable to do so when installing/upgrading it.
Hope that helps.
I cannot help you further with this here, the issues you mention are specific to your installation and would require manual debugging using FTP and admin details.

Sorry, I meant to say "version" not "order", that's why doesn't make sense. I was referring to the posts #20/#21 when somebody mentioned having those files and admin went blank. I was just troubleshooting.

Yes, I read the full readme file, remember you sent me a copy even before it was available here for download. I even read the FAQ's and "Known Issues" where I didn't find any of my questions and issues.
I'm not saying the module doesn't work, it does. I'm just not sure if is working how is supposed to since I'm basing my questions and "issues" on my experience with previous version and the order used to come in as "PAID" or no balance due, now it doesn't, it shows up on the order's page as not paid.
I'm asking if that's the way is supposed to be now? I believe I upgraded from 1.3.7 so I was using previous ZC offline cc payment system, and that was the way it used to be. If your module is not supposed to bring the order in as PAID, that's all what I need to know.
If it's supposed to bring it just like ZC used to, then is not doing it and needs to be fixed. I can give you access details through PM if you are available to take a look?

Okay, I wasn't following you. If removing those files caused a blank page then the followuyp post I made at the time explains the reason: "Quite simply you must have another old Ceon module that uses ceon_file_system_functions.php.."... the files may simply have been required for another old Ceon module.. Ceon Manual Card 3 doesn't need them so deleting them won't cause a blank page specifically for it.

Sorry, when you asked where the SQL script is it gave that impression as there is no SQL script.. the installation documentation tells how the database table is automatically created when installing the software.
The reason none of your issues are described is that none of your issues are actually directly related to Ceon Manual Card.

Have you set the order status that payments should be set to when Ceon Manual Card is used?

I don't know what the standard Zen Cart CC module did so can't tell you how it differs from Ceon Manual Card.
Best just try out the options in Ceon Manual Card and see what matches what you want to do and what doesn't.

As you say, the module works fine, but yes, it may simply be that you expected it to work in a different way and this is the source of the confusion. As I said, I don't know exactly what your previous CC module did but I don't recognise your description of its behaviour and can't help wondering if you had custom coded it in some way. I don't remember the old CC module adjusting order totals (or whatever it is you mean by "no balance due").
Obviously we've identified that this issue is not related to Ceon Manual Card directly, but a possible difference in methodology, so posting further about it here won't be informative for anyone else but I hope you can get it sorted.
If you do want to run anything by me you can send a quick contact e-mail via the contact form on my website.. I don't use the PM system here.

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
OK It seems that this will be a dumb question since most of the mods I have installed have gone smoothly - But I think I am having a major brain glitch.
I have two sites both are running 2.2.2 the one site for some reason stopped showing the credit card gathering area. So this is the great time to upgrade to 3.000
Both sites are 1.3.H.
The site with problems I have uploaded the admin and the includes folders and that is about as far as I can get - in the administration when I reinstall the mod it still shows the 2.2.2 at the top.
It also has in the mod area check for updates which I have done by Filezilla.
I know I am just missing something!

It's probably Filezilla messing up. I've heard from several people now using it and it reports files as being uploaded when they weren't!
Re-upload all the files again with a "better" FTP client (try FireFTP for Firefox), taking care to upload the admin files to the correct admin folder, and all should be fine.
Any info you need should be in the module's documentation/upgrading instructions.
Hope that helps!

The docs aren't in slightest bit cloudy about this!
Follow the installation process again as outlined in the docs, but with a different FTP client, and you'll most likely be fine; thousands of others have done that before and been fine too. :)
If you're still having trouble send me FTP and admin details via the Ceon website and I'll upload the files for you.

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
OK this is what I have done -
redownloaded 3.0.0
Unzip of course.
Upload admin files as folder to the stores' admin folder
same with the includes.
I did this using the limited FTP of my server. FireFTP just would not configure.
Checked each file for the placement in the cpanel.
Attempted to check for any missed placed files - but I would assume that these missplaced files would cause blank pages - maybe not.
Refreshed and this is what I have
Ceon Manual Card v2.2.2
Remove Module Edit
Configuration IssuesWarning:
The Ceon Manual Card Database Table Does Not Exist!
Please create the database table, according to the installation instructions!
Module Version Information
File Version: 2.2.2
Database Version: 2.2.2
Check for updates
before I started it was not showing the area that would gather cc information - I was think that upgrading would fix this - It was working fine then I quit - have not been able to track down that issue

It looks like you've uploaded the includes folder to your admin includes folder. It certainly hasn't been uploaded to your includes folder anyway, otherwise that would say Ceon Manual Card 3.0.0!
If that's not the problem then please don't reply here, I offered to help you directly and would consider it rude of you to post here again asking for further help here. I'm sure you understand, time is precious.

Quite simply you paid for the order with either a gift certificate or a coupon!
Nothing is charged if you use a gift certificate balance or a coupon that covers the entire balance, so the module isn't used!

Hi Jill,
Only the latest version is supported so you'll have to upgrade. ;)
A new version will be out this week so you can wait on it, then upgrade and your problem will be fixed when you do.
If you don't want to wait then upload all the files again, you haven't done that properly or your FTP software has messed up, or you've uploaded them to the wrong place (make sure you check the store's template directories for overrides you may have put in before which are now out of date).

I have just installed Zencart 1.5, I used the CEON module in 1.3.9 and it worked perfectly, and everything seems to be working in 1.5 except I am not receiving the email.

There is no such issue. E-mail errors can only be a problem with something you've done or with your server.
Check that you are entering your e-mail address in the correct format (ONE basic e-mail address, no name part or angle brackets) and if you still don't receive the e-mail then you have a server issue or a spam filter blocking these e-mails.
They really are the ONLY possibilities.. so hopefully that information shall get you sorted quickly. :)

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Hi all,
We accept Visa and Mastercard as forms of payment in our online store.
Lately we have had 12 digit visa come through instead of the standard 16.
Could someone please help with a validation for 16 digit cards only? What file must I work in to accomplish this? What would I change?
Thanks in advance.

Why would you bother really? You'll have seen the card number come through like that and you obviously won't ship the order if the card can't be charged?
It's such a rare thing (I've never heard of it) that I wouldn't spend the time changing things.. but if you do want to the file is includes/modules/payment/ceon_manual_card.php, method is pre_confirmation_check().. you could copy the minimum card holder length check and adapt it for the number.
You can "block" card lengths of less than 16 by JavaScript if you change the setting "Credit Card Number" in "Minimum Values" in the Zen Cart Configuration menu. However, they can still use 12 with JavaScript switched off.
But then again, why would you send anything to them if their card wasn't valid?
The whole exercise seems pointless to me but each unto their own, you can make your own mind up!
Please don't post again about this hear though as it's not something of use in general I don't think... you could start a new thread if you want to talk more about it.. I'd like to keep this thread to Ceon Manual Card issues only.
Thanks!

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
I had a 12 digit card come through recently as well. Of course the customer simply missed four digits when they placed the order. But because the credit card page didn't tell them that they didn't enter enough digits, it took more time to correct the error than if it threw an error to the customer before they completed the order process. Instead I had to email them and request that they either call or place the order again. So a bit of code to validate would be helpful in expediting the order process. Obviously we won't be sending product if the card won't process, but if the customer can correct the error before the order is even placed, that would be sweet!
Just a suggestion and not a criticism of the sheer genius of the Ceon module  I am very pleased with it.
Thanks!

As suggested above then, change the setting "Credit Card Number" in "Minimum Values" in the Zen Cart Configuration menu.
I'll probably change the main code to use this value as well then.. the JavaScript checking code already does, so your setting must be below 16.
There may be places where 12 digits is fine so I won't be enforcing any arbitrary limits, just keeping the LUHN check as it is, that'll do for validation.
Hope that helps!

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Ah! I see! There is a place in the Admin at Configuration -> Minimum Values to set the minimum length of the credit card. Mine was set to 10 which would obviously allow a 12 digit credit card number. Since I do accept American Express and those can be 15 digits, I changed the number to 15. I take VISA, MS, AMEX, and Discover. AMEX cards would have the least digits with 15. So voila! 12 digit issue solved! (I hope ;)
Thanks!

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
"Why would you bother really? You'll have seen the card number come through like that and you obviously won't ship the order if the card can't be charged?"
A couple of points:
1. To not have to contact the customer by email or phone to get their correct card number.
2. To get the sale. Or we could just say "Wrong card number. Won't clear. So forget about the sale guys. We don't want their money that bad".
This is a critical part of the efficiency of the module.
-
Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Also, I should note that when contacting the customers about this, they have said they did enter 16 digits. Hmmmm.

As I've said here before.. e-businesses are advised use a payment gateway and not a manual card module.
You should consider that if you don't want to miss out on further sales.

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Conor - Just curious to know if you guys have any plans of upgrading to support ZC 1.5.x ?
Thanks.

These are the language file icon images.
They are prepended with the value of DIR_FS_CATALOG_LANGUAGES from your admin/includes/configure.php file.
You've forgotten to update the above file for your new site.
Fix it and the images will show as expected.
All the best..

The module already fully supports 1.5.x.
A new version 3.0.1 has been sitting ready for release for many months now but it doesn't add anything regarding Zen Cart version support, just some niceties.
I'll try to release it (along with a plethora of other module updates) later this week, if I'm up to it, but you can use 3.0.0 with 1.5.x just fine now.
All the best..

Hi Coner,
The config files are updated and correct. All other images, buttons and icons around the admin are displaying. It is specifically this module.
Very strange.

Oh right, okay, sorry, when the module is installed it uses the value of DIR_WS_CATALOG_LANGUAGES to build its configuration options.
So you can update the configuration options to use the new path by using SQL or PHPMyAdmin, or you can remove and install the software again, entering all the settings once again, then the icons will show.
It doesn't matter a jot that they don't show though, so it's up to you if you could be bothered re-entering all the details again. (A quick way to do that is to keep the old settings open in one tab and then remove/install in another, copying and pasting the values from old to new).
All the best...

Cool mate, easy fix.
Sorry if I missspelt your name.....
Not sure if this is the right place for this kind of post. but here goes....
The work and proffessionalism that Conor puts into his mods is absolutely top notch. It astounds me that this quality is offered for free.
Every part of the mod is very well thought out and seems to be thoroughly tested before released. The instructions and labelling within the mod is outstanding and the documentation included is highly detailed and excellent!
I'd like to say a huge public thankyou to Conor and Ceon for these contributions.
If I could afford proffesional I would not hesitate in choosing Conor to fully handle the design and installation of a custom zen solution. I have no doubt that the result would be fantastic.
Good on ya mate:clap:
Mods feel free to relocate this post to a more appropiate place
Keep up the good work.

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
Hi Conor,
First, thank you for this module. I agree that using a gateway is the way to go, but I think that smaller/start-up stores should have some way to do manual entry if they already have a merch account for a brick and mortar store.
In my case, I've set a 10 order/month "trigger" for when I will get a gateway.
All this concern with CVV numbers and PCI compliance had me thinking of a way to be able to obscure the CVV number in the email, one that at least provides a bit of "security by obscurity" should someone breach email and have access to the admin.
How hard would it be to have the CVV encrypted by adding a number (1-9) to each CVV digit? For example, if the CVV is 377, add 8 to each digit, drop the "1" and have 155?
The trick here would be to have the number, 8 in this case, be something that is defined outside the main module, in the database or something, where the admin could execute an MySQL patch to put it in during the module install.
This way, it'd be non-trivial to display the number in the admin interface, and it'd be one more layer of protection, however thin.
I'm no PCI expert, but this might also help one to say "But I don't email CVV info; that's not a CVV number." as well.
Just a thought. Thanks again for the module.

Re: Ceon Manual Card Payment Module v3.0.0
After fishing about and some testing, I managed to kludge this together:
PHP Code:
$a = str_split($this->_card_cv2_number);
$this->_card_cv2_number = substr(strval(intval($a[2])+7),-1).
substr(strval(intval($a[1])+6),-1).
substr(strval(intval($a[0])+5),-1);
I inserted this in the emailing routine:
PHP Code:
function after_process()
{
global $insert_id;
if (strtolower(CEON_MANUAL_CARD_ASK_FOR_CV2_NUMBER) == 'yes') {
if ($this->_card_cv2_number == '000') {
$message = sprintf(CEON_MANUAL_CARD_TEXT_EMAIL_CV2_NUMBER_NOT_PRESENT,
$insert_id, $this->_card_number_middle_digits);
} else {
$a = str_split($this->_card_cv2_number);
$this->_card_cv2_number = substr(strval(intval($a[2])+7),-1).
substr(strval(intval($a[1])+6),-1).
substr(strval(intval($a[0])+5),-1);
$a=""
$message = sprintf(CEON_MANUAL_CARD_TEXT_EMAIL, $insert_id,
$this->_card_number_middle_digits, $this->_card_cv2_number);
}
It places the 3 digits in an array, adds a different number to each digit, and then reverses the order of the digits. I'd love to skip the array and just massage _card_cv2_number directly, but I don't know how PHP works enough to do this.
I realize that anyone with access to the code would see this, but as I said before, it's one more layer of protection.
My PHP/MySQL fu isn't great enough for it, but I'd like to pretty this hack a bit, and add the number(s) to add to the digits into the database, so they're not just laying all naked in the code. Any help would be appreciated.

This is one of the FAQs... please read it, but basically you need to fix your sort orders so that each module has a unique one.
All the best..
