Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Hi I'm from the UK and really need some form of integration with accounts software and thought this might be good as a friend uses QB but not with zen cart for his business.
Will this work with QB UK software and what QB, simplestart, Pro,or Premier?
Thank you.

It will not work with QB UK. The taxation and import field names are different from the US version.

Adam,
Will there continue to be updates to the free version?
Or is it strictly a commercial addon nowadays?

I have been thinking of making an updated free version when QBI 4 is released, as 3.21 is quite old now. But I can't make any promises.

Okay.
This is just a friendly reminder that commercial products are not allowed to be advertised here on the forum.
Please do not post links to commercial addons/services.

I think the price they are charging for the commercial app is TOO MUCH, I would rahter sit here and type each order in then pay somone $180 after paying over $200 for quickbooks pro, :censored:

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Zencart V1.3.8a with QBI 3.2.1
Have a few issues and I'm not sure if they're setup problems or bugs:
1. Only a fraction of my orders are importing. When I look at the iif file, it goes from 976 to 1325 for no apparent reason. In QBI, here is what I see:
All Previous Orders
Quan: 68
No.: 901 to 1554
Date: Dec 8, 2009 5:39 pm to Nov 9, 2010 1:38 pm
2. I have Matched every shipping method and I still see "Ship Via" in the iif file says "Method not set". It looks like these orders are the ones that are "Free shipping" but I have that matched to
"USPS Priority". The option "Method not set" doesn't even exist in the matched list.
3. Paypal Payment method is coming across as "Check / MO". I've checked this and double checked it. Under payment setup, I've set "Paypal" to "Paid online" and under match I've set "Purchase (paypal)" to "Paypal". Under configure I have "Invoice terms paid online:" set to "Credit Card" and "Invoice terms not prepaid:" set to "Check / MO"
So it looks like I'm missing something but where?
Thanks in advance!

QBI only exports orders that 1) have not been exported before by QBI, and 2) meet the status criteria you've set on the QBI configuration page (download orders with status: pending, for example). Of the 600+ orders between 901 and 1554, you have 68 that meet both criteria.

You may need to manually update QBI's shipping methods table to properly list the free shipping option. "Method not set" appears when no match is found.

Again, you may have to manually update QBI's payment methods table to properly match PayPal. However, walking you through how to do that is beyond the scope of the support I offer for the free version of QBI.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Adam,
Thanks for the support you DO provide on the free version. It is definitely above and beyond what's expected.
After posting I looked into another post you had made in this thread that describes generally what needs to be done to add the shipping/payment methods to the tables. I'll try this today.
Your paid version doesn't list anything about doing this better. Maybe you've already thought of something however it would be nice to have two text boxes and a submit button to manually enter them. This way I don't have to go into mysql admin. It's only a one time thing so it's probably fine.
Your answer to #1 helped very much. I remembered that I have two identical status for "shipped". One has 42 orders, the other has the remainder. I guess I'll finally have to figure out how to fix this or just export in two rounds and not fix it at all :).
If I can get this working, i'll save me a lot of time and I'll send over some lunch money ;).
thanks!

The free version automatically detects and adds the shipping and payment methods. Unfortunately, because the modules are not implemented in a consistent manner, QBI can't always detect them all correctly. I believe (it's been a while since I wrote version 3.21) that you'll need to disable the automatic system by commenting out a line, so that it doesn't revert your manual changes -- this should be somewhere in earlier posts.
For the paid version, I gave up on the automatic system and just pre-populated the tables with the most common entries.
Manual boxes is an idea, but the problem is that you'd have to go into the database anyway to know what to put in them, as the values stored in the db with an order are not necessarily what's shown on the screen.
I'm hoping to revisit this and re-implement the automatic system with improvements in the future.
Good luck!
Thanks,
Adam

I discovered just that when I started looking through the code and troubleshooting some of these problems. Looks like a big mess. I'm surprised you've got it working as well as it does.
I've just added my matches to the tables rather than edit them. This way it doesn't over write my changes (at least in my testing it didn't)
Last Question:
My attribute options are not matching up to my QB item number. Instead, QBI is just passing them through. I have only one attribute with several options. Everything is matched up in QBI too.
Looking through the QBI code, it should find the model number and option number, then match it to determine which QB item number to use. I can only guess it is failing somewhere when trying to find a match. Seeing as though everything is matched up, I can't figure out why.
Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks again!

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Let me clarify that I meant the shipping modules look like a big mess, not the QBI code. The more I look through the QBI code, the more I realize how much time you have in this! Thanks again!

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I just wanted to add a thank-you to Adam for the paid version of QBI. It has dramatically reduced my workload on the accounting side, literally to just a few clicks each week. I run a pretty active bookstore and it was getting to the point that I was going to need to hire someone part-time to do data transfer between QB and Zencart..the plugin has already paid for itself.
It took a few hours to get everything set up correctly in terms of products and accounts, but once that was done everything is seamless. Thank you!

Hi Adam,
First of all thank you for this zencart app.! I think it will save so much time. Unfortunately it isn't working for me yet...I have gone through all the configs and when I go to the admin section, it shows how many orders, customers and products available to download. Problem is, whenever I click on any tab or any download button in the admin area, I get a page not found error page. Any ideas to get me up and running? Thanks
Using Apple zen template, Zencart Version 1.3.8a, php version 5.2.9. Virtual merchant and Canada Post plugins installed...

I am giving limited support for the free version, as it is quite old now. However, this one is pretty easy. If the page is not found, then either you are going to the wrong place, or the page is missing. Look at where the tab is taking you, and review that you have installed all the QBI files in the correct location.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I integrated QBI version 3.21 into a ZC 1.3.8a website (yes, he desperately needs an upgrade) but the client is having issues importing the resulting iif file into QuickBooks. Would it safe for me to upload the iif file here (it only has one test order within)? I'm interested to see if anyone else experiences the issues my client is experiencing, and if anyone has any feedback on how I can correct this issue.
Here is my client's feedback:
"I do see the name and address in the customer list but can not find an actionable transaction, order, item etc"
Thanks!

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Forgive the stupidity of this question but I am struggling to find a good way to keep up on books without giving myself a migrane
Do you find it better to update orders and such through QB or through ZC? My problem is, I am used to using ZC to update, send new info to customers and I like it because they can login and see any updates I have made.
Plus it keeps things more odvious for me if there is a pending order that was missed, etc.
How do you all handle this? I am open to any ideas, just really struggling at this point.
Thanks!!

Don't try to copy the iif into a post -- the columns get messed up and it is unreadable.
Did they look in both Sales Receipts and Invoices?

QBI can be used either way. It really is a preference of how you run your store, and there isn't one correct answer.
QBI can change the status of orders it exports automatically.
Thanks,

I was actually referring to uploading the iif file as an attachment. Would that be "OK"?
I will check with them in the meantime, to see if they checked in both sales receipts and in invoices.
Thanks, and please do let me know if you would be willing to look at the actual iif file.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
A little more feedback from the client:
When I went to import the file I got a “Warning” box stating “Quickbooks has detected one of your items does not have an account associated with it. Go to the item list to make sure all items are associated with accounts. I clicked OK anyway and got another Error message “Error line 10 can’t record invalid transaction” I clicked OK again and the program said import successful but I do not see any orders etc.
Does that clarify anything?

Yes. Your client has not filled in all the required fields on the Configure page. Specifically, they need to fill in all the account fields in the Items section and that should fix this problem. Then, they should read the User Manual completely and go through all the configuration options and set them appropriately before trying to use QBI.
Thanks,

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Hi Adam,
I asked this question before (http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...postcount=1062) and is glad cause you answered. However, I wasn't able to find a more sensible solution for this error.
I'm not sure if this was already answered before so sorry if you have to repeat it for me or something... T~T
Anyway, I tried to update the foreach statement where the error seems to be starting.
The error I'm getting says there's something wrong with the foreach argument. It seems that an array is being expected but the value it returns is null. I updated the foreach code (couple of lines before 450)
PHP Code:
if (count($attributes)==1) {
$attr_1=$this->get_product_option_values_list($this->product['products_id'],$attributes[0],$this->product['products_model'],$this->product['products_name'],$this->product['products_price']);
if (count($attr_1) > 0) {
foreach ($attr_1 as $data1) {
$output[]=$data1;
}
}
}
I added the if statement so that if the value is null, it doesn't have to go to the foreach statement.
This is however my temporary solution... and I'm not sure yet if this will contradict other statements. :/

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Hi Adam,
Thank you for the great module.
I was trying to integrate the QBI module and I was able to successfully add it to my zencart v1.3.8, however I am running into a few problems. I was wondering if you can give me insight on how to fix the issues.
1. Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded
This error occurs when I try to import previous order data.
I tried all the other imports and they work.
2. QBI does not recognize new orders. (Create iif -> New Orders = 0) Even though I have orders that are not imported yet. The configuration for Import orders with status is set to Pending.
Thank you in advance.

Importing all your old orders can be problematic, especially if you have ever deleted products in your store (don't do it! Just set them as inactive if you ever want to import those orders). If you insist, then you may need to extend your PHP max execution time in your php.ini file.
Quote:

New orders are those that:
1) Were placed after you first installed QBI.
2) Have the status you've set on the QBI Configuration page.
3) Have never been imported before by QBI.
If they are not appearing as new orders, then it HAS to be one of those three things.
Thanks,

I don't think I can give you a better answer than I did the last time. The problem isn't in the QBI code, so helping you make changes to the code isn't going to solve the root cause. And, I can't give that level of help for the free version.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Hi Adam,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I was able to import all my orders.
I have some warnings and notices that I wanted to confirm with you.
I have the following:
Notice: Query failed: Unknown column 'qbi_imported' in 'where clause' SQL: SELECT COUNT(*), MIN(products_id), MAX(products_id), MIN(UNIX_TIMESTAMP(products_date_added)) as date_min, MAX(UNIX_TIMESTAMP(products_date_added)) as date_max FROM products WHERE qbi_imported='0'
Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource
These warnings show up on the products import.
I created a kit module that allows customers to select from an admin selected kit (Products grouped together and customers select a few products from the kit). I have the database somewhat modded, so I'm thinking that it's just on my end. I just wanted to confirm.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Hi Adam,
1 more thing.
My zencart order info is in Japanese.
Is there any way that I can change the character encoding for the IIF files that are being created??
I've tried so many products for zencart -> quickbooks integration, but I can't find one that would do this.
If there is a way, I would like to mod this on my own.
Can you please direct me to the file that I must change to make it UTF-8?
Thank you in advance!

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I live in the state of WA where we have not only state sales tax of 6.5% but a different % for local sales tax based on various counties throughout the state.
I am getting an error when I import any orders to QB that have sales tax. I'm assuming this is because I can't match up local sales between QB and QBI.
Any idea how to fix this. I'd be willing to manually enter the sales tax into QB if I could just get the order pulled through. Any ideas how to do this?
Thank you,
Amber

I uploaded files to server in directory catalog/xxxx.
This is something pretty simple and I have looked everywhere to resolve. Your help would be appreciated.

QBI puts the price that the customer actually paid when they ordered the item on the Invoice or Sales Order. So, it doesn't matter if you have quantity discounts, different prices for different customers, etc. This is the same for any version of QBI.

Adam

QBI adds a column "qbi_imported" to the PRODUCTS table. Something happened to the table and apparently that column got removed. You say you modified the database, so I assume that's where it went wrong. You can add it back by running this SQL statement:
ALTER TABLE `products` ADD `qbi_imported` TINYINT(2) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '2' NOT NULL;

The iif file is just a tab delimited text file, and there's nowhere to indicate character encoding. I'm assuming it isn't working right now. However, you can open the iif file in Excel. Try replacing the text for some product with the Japanese and resave it as a text file with the .iif extension (not as an Excel file). Then import it into Quickbooks. If Quickbooks will import the Japanese, then I can look and see if there's anything I can do on my end (but not in the free version). If Quickbooks won't import the Japanese, then I'm afraid it's a limitation of Quickbooks.
Thanks,
Adam

QBI, either version, currently can not handle more than one sales tax rate (which you set up on the Configure page). That is planned to be added some time in the future. There is no easy work-around. The file will not import if the sum of the line items doesn't equal the total, which it won't if the sales tax isn't correct.
Thanks,
Adam

It may run fine, but I make no guarantees as the free version of QBI is 5 years old now. The version of ZC or add-ons shouldn't matter too much, and the year of QB doesn't matter. More of a concern is how it will run with PHP 5.3, as it contains some deprecated code.

No change is needed in either version. QBI exports orders with the price the customer actually paid for the line item on that particular order. It doesn't care how many prices per product you have set up.

Hi Adam, sorry to trouble you. Like I said I have uploaded all the qbi files to my server. But nothing is showing up in my admin/customer to further the install. I did change the original admin file name to xxxx. Should I change that back to admin or will it work with the file name change, or do I have to change some of the name of the file extension names to xxxx? not sure?
Thank You,
Tom

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I have read most of this thread and found, invoice instead of sales receipt issues, but most of them deal with Paypal and I do not use Paypal. We are using Authorize.net, the config is set to sales receipt but everything is going in as an invoice. We are importing any status. Is there some basic setting or status setting or such that I am missing? If someone could help me walk through this I will be in your debt. I am a PHP5 programmer and will owe you a favor :) Thanks!

The Admin folder name does not matter. Recheck the installation steps. If you menu item doesn't work, then put the complete URL path to the file in your browser to go to it.

Make sure that Set Up and Match Payments has been done properly. Walking you through the steps is not provided with the free version of QBI.

Yes. The iif format has not changed for many years, so it will work with any current or previous QB Pro, Premier, or Enterprise (US only) on the PC. The old free version is not tested with PHP5 though.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
installed the qbi file and everything is working, with two odd exceptions.
I am using zencart 1.3.9 and the free version of QBI.
My product, and shipping tabs are not showing all the options.
I am using one product with two attributes. Color: white, black. Size: S, M, L, X-L. I will be adding more but I want to make sure everything is working first.
On the Match tab then products tab, I do not see all the attributes for my product.
It shows only: small, medium, large, x-large, black, white.
Then on the Match tab then shipping tab it shows the usps options, but does not show the fedex options that I have installed in the cart as a mod.
I checked the create iif tab then went to the All previous Products download file button and I can see in that file that all the attributes are showing. Small:White, Small:Black, Medium:White, Medium:Black , Large:White, Large:Black, X-Large:White, X-Large:Black
Please help, PS I am NOT a programer, so I will most likely be lost if you tell me code to look at.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
reading the manual from top to bottom and back didn't help, asking the software vendor for help got no responds via emails, or tickets, so have to ask here. help me please. I am using paid latest version of qbi import with 1.3.9h zen-cart and quickbooks 11 enterprice. when i am importing orders it is importing only orders that not have any shipping charges or sales tax charges. Any order that has sales tax charges or shipping charges shows error: "The transaction is not in balance. Make sure the amount in the detail area on the form for this transaction equals the amount at the top of the form" and then saying can't record invalid transaction. i have matched sales tax, shipping, items, payments. only thing is missing i dont know how to match discounts and fees. we are running 20% 30% 10% discounts online sometimes and we charge a handling fee for shipping. could this be the problem? if yes how you match these? do i need to create a new item in quickbooks as discount for 20% for example?
Also i think there is a rounding issue between qb and zen-cart. zen is rounding discounted items totals this way (i.e 34,37 + 34,37 = 68,73). can this be the issue for my qb error?

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I've been using this add-on for several months and aside from a few minor issues has worked flawlessly, until today.
When I exported my orders there is one missing, I've looked at the data, the qbi_imported field is set to 0 in the orders table. Does anyone know what other fields are in the query and what they need to be set to to show as a new order?
Thanks for your help!

Please do not post requests for help with the paid version of QBI here. The code/features are different and no-one here can help you. This forum is for the free version of QBI only (this issue has since been resolved off-line).

The qbi_imported field is set to:
2 for new orders
1 right after an order is exported with QBI
0 after the next batch is exported with QBI
For orders to show as new, they must:
1) never have been exported by QBI (qbi_imported=2)
2) meet the criteria on the QBI Options page for "Export orders with status:"
In order for qbi_imported to be set to 0, the order had to have been exported (unless you just installed QBI for the first time, where all existing orders are set to 0).
It is possible that the order was previously exported, but there was an error in it that prevented it from being imported into QB. But in this case, you would normally get an error message in QB while importing the iif file.
Also, check both Sales Receipts and Invoices in QB for the order. In a normal setup using a payment gateway, orders will import as Sales Receipts. But, if you allow checks or money orders to be sent, then that order would have imported as an Invoice.
For now, you can reset qbi_imported to 2 for that order, and try again and see what happens.
Thanks,
Adam (QBI developer)

I give limited help with the free version. I'm not sure why you are having the issue with Attributes (are you using any contributions that might affect this?). One way around it is that you follow the instructions and just make your QB Item and Subitem Names the same as your ZC Products and Attributes. Then you don't need to do matching. You can easily set this up by exporting the products from QBI and importing them into QB.
For the shipping modules, this version of QBI automatically detects shipping modules and shipping methods. However, the implementation of the shipping modules is very inconsistent, so sometimes this doesn't work. You can get around this by disabling the automatic detection and entering them manually into the appropriate QBI table. I've given instructions for doing this quite a few times in the forum, so if you search you should find it (if they were handy, I'd repost them now).
Thanks,
Adam

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I am really interested int eh Paid version, but honestly with the 2 required software it cost more then QB itself.
I think a more reasonable price $50 to $100 for both software would actually get you more sales.
Not that I am spamming or not saying its good software or bad, but for 90% of the people running zen-cart its really overpriced:wacko:

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Since upgrading to 1.3.9h (from 1.3.6) in early December '11, my client cannot get Paypal transactions to import as receipts, only invoices. I have followed the earlier directions given (http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...&postcount=485) and it was to no avail as each of these changes had already been made to the files and db table. No settings have changed since the time (under 1.3.6) it was importing as receipts (as it was and is configured to do) and all files and database tables related to the add-on were copied over (this has been verified from backups).
Is it possible that the module name (column: qbi_paycart_mod in table: qbi_paycart) has changed since the last instructions were posted in 2007? I noticed that the paypal table now has a new field called "module_name" and refers to itself now as "paypal (ipn-handler)". Does this need to explicitly added to the above table in the above column?
Any suggestions to remedy this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Just to follow up, the problem seems to be resolved now. I found this link to be very helpful: https://www.qbisoftware.com/support/...cleid=20&nav=0, particularly steps 2 and 3. I hadn't seen it described in that level of detail here. If you follow the steps in this thread, particularly the posts from 2007 describing a fix for this problem, and you change the database according to those steps, it won't work. That's because the name of the module has changed (assuming you're using 1.3.9 or later). You have to transpose the information in the orders table (see knowledgebase article link above) EXACTLY (case and all) to the qbi_paycart table.

No. QB on Mac does have an iif file import feature, but when it doesn't like something in the file, it just crashes. So, don't waste your time trying. The file import capability on PC versions is much more reliable and robust.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Hello Everyone,
I am having difficulty with my Quick Books QBI Verion 3.21. I am using Quick Books Pro 2010 and ZenCart 1.3.8a.
The problem is: When I download new orders to Quick Books using the "QuickBooks Import QBI", the wrong transaction date is showing.
For Example, The actual date should be 03/01/2012 but the Invoice date that QBI reports is 12/03/2001.
This is the one thing that has been a problem for years, but I did not want to bother anyone. (duh).
Anyway, any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks all,

QBI simply reads the date from your database. The problem is elsewhere -- check that your server time is set correctly, and that the invoice date in Zen Cart is correct.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
Thank You for your response.
However, the Server time is correct and the Zen Cart order date is correct. It seems to be the date format in one of the SQL files.
(they are the correct numerical values, but in the wrong place setting). Any further thoughts on how to change the Date format in what SQL file?
Thanks,

I can not say how well it will work with QuickBooks Mac 2012, but I am able to use this plugin and import IIF using Quickbooks for Mac 2010 without issue.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I don't give any guarantees about the old free version of QBI working. However, ZC 1.5.x uses essentially the same database structure as 1.3.9, so I don't expect there to be any problem related to the ZC version.

Hello Adam,
I've installed this on 1.3.8 and 1.3.9 without any issues at all. Since I have upgraded to 1.5.0, I have installed twice and the program will not even show up under the stores admin panel. I am at a total loss.
Additionally, I have read numerous posts having the same or similar issues, without a solution.
I understand that this is basically open source, but I wish that the persons incharge of the 1.5.0 version had considered the use of ALL plugin compatibility before releasing this version of ZenCart or at least did the research to see what plugins would or would not work with 1.5.0. And stated such, so that a store owner would be able to make an INFORMED decission as to whether or not the 1.5.0 version was worth the effort, time or even compatible for their usage.
To me, an online shopping cart without the capability to download the sales information to an accounting program is basically useless. It is way to cumbersome to copy and paste all orders by hand into an accounting program.
So, in conclusion... Is there anyway to use QBI with 1.5.0?
If neccessary, I'll pay you!
Respectfully,
Dan Osko

If it won't show up, then it really isn't an issue with the inner workings of QBI. It is simply a menu issue. The solution to that should be simple, and isn't specific to QBI. You can also just go directly to the QBI page by entering the URL in your browser instead of using the menus.

1) QBI does not import credit card information into Quickbooks. Most people process credit cards in real time inside of Zen Cart using a payment gateway, so it is not necessary for QBI to import this information.
2) The old free version of QBI (almost 6 years old) works with ZC 1.3.x and probably also works fine with 1.5.x, however I have not tested it and don't offer help with that.
3) The old free version may have some issues with PHP 5.x. I have not tested it on PHP 5 and can't offer help with that.
4) I can't discuss non-free versions here, but try using Google to find out about it.

No luck with installation at all. Nothing ever shows up. I've tried uploading to the "admin" directory and also the "zc_admin" directory and still nothing. If you are using ZenCart Version 1.50 or higher, the QBI Free Plugin will not function. You would need to spend well over $100.00 to BUY the Plugin for ZenCart Version 1.50 from the Author. :shocking:

However, after many hours of research and learning code on the way. I found out how to get Quickbooks Import QBI Version: 3.21b to work for my Zen Cart 1.3.9x since Adam is keeping most of us in the dark. I don't blame him. If I spent as many hours as he did working on an awesome plug-in, I would want to be compensated for my time as well instead of giving out free support.
Anyways, anybody who wants Quickbooks Import QBI Version: 3.21b to work on at least Zen Cart 1.3.9x (have not tested v1.5x) need to update the following files:
qbi_v3_21b_zen/catalog/admin/qbi_0_00_3-21.sql
qbi_v3_21b_zen/catalog/admin/qbi_1_00_3-21.sql
Look thru each file for this line of code:
Code:
updated timestamp(14) NOT NULL,
added timestamp(14) NOT NULL,
AND CHANGE IT TO (REMOVE THE (14)):
Code:
updated timestamp NOT NULL,
added timestamp NOT NULL,
Also you may need to change the following code depending on which version of phpMyAdmin/MySQL you are using from:
To:
and Save changes and Install Databases.
Let me know if this works for you!

Thank you! The current version has about 7,000 lines of code and people need help from time to time. It would be impossible (and I wouldn't want to!) do this for free! I had intended to make an updated "lite" free version at some point, but just haven't found the time.
I haven't looked at 3.21 for quite some time, but I don't think any significant changes are needed for ZC v1.5. There were no changes needed in the paid version. QBI talks directly to the database, and the basic database structure in the relevant tables in ZC has had few changes over the years.
The problems you may run into with QBI v3.21 are related to deprecated PHP and MySQL code, and have to do with the version of PHP and MySQL you are running.
The changes mentioned in the previous post are needed if you are running MySQL v5.5 or later, and are not directly related to the version of ZC. You do need to remove the "(14)" after timestamp. As for "TYPE=MyISAM", you can change it as suggested to "ENGINE=MyISAM", or just leave it out entirely. If you leave it out, the table engine will be whatever your MySQL default is. It should work fine with either MyISAM or InnoDB.
Thanks,

I finally figured out what is happening here. If the "Orders.Orders_Status" field is not = 1 then the QBI add-on won't pull the record as being a new order. This happens if the invoice has no dollar value, I'm guessing the core code has something that sets zero dollar values to in process.
Regardless, now before I use the QBI to download new invoices I run this simple code as a sql patch in the admin tools section:
Code:
UPDATE orders
SET orders_status = 1
WHERE qbi_imported = 0;
QBI then sets the order status to whatever you have that configured to in the QBI configurations settings.
YAY!

The Order Status does not necessarily have to be =1. It can be whatever you select in the QBI configuration.

I'd like to be able to import my inventory items from Quickbooks Pro 2013 into ZenCart, and then my ZenCart orders back to quickbooks (thus decrementing the inventory appropriately) -now THAT is integration.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
In simple terms, this "plugin" does not work with Zen Cart 1.50 or above. I have attempted "everything known to man" and re-read EVERY posting..., and there is no response or solution. (other than to PURCHASE the authors new "plugin" for $175.00).
Even though Zen Cart is a highly technical program to get "up and running"..., I have used Zen Cart for nearly five years. (however, since the update..., I am now, unfortunately, committed to using it)
With that said, I STRONGLY regret updating to 1.50! Most of the "bells and whistles" are no longer available or supported. I am VERY displeased with this new release and the lack of functioning "plugins". Especially, when you take away one of the main functions that every shopping cart program should have, (which I believe is to have the ability to actually download your customer and order information into a format in which your accounting program can actully utilize)!!!! Because, if you can't download this info into a usable format..., YOU HAVE TO COPY EVERYTHING INTO YOUR ACCOUNTING PROGRAM BY HAND!
This is a great program, with a multitude of knowlegable authors. All of whom deserve credit and thanks. But overall, If I had to do this over again..., I would have paid for a FUNCTIONING shopping cart.

The free version of QBI is quite old, I don't guarantee its functionality, and I only provide minimal support for it. That being said, there is nothing about ZC 1.5 that presents any compatibility issue. In fact, there were no changes made to the paid version of QBI to accommodate the move from ZC 1.39 to ZC 1.5 and it works perfectly with it.
QBI uses no ZC code whatsoever and interacts directly with the ZC MySQL database (the only changes made in ZC during installation are to place a link to QBI in the admin menu). So, it is immune to changes in ZC code, and only affected by changes in the ZC database structure, of which there were none of importance that affected QBI.
The issues you may run into have to do with deprecated PHP functions and SQL commands, both of which I have addressed in a recent post. Additionally, if you created a new database for your ZC 1.5 installation, you will likely need to update the QBI config file to connect to it.
I don't know what the problem is that you are experiencing, but I can pretty much be sure that it is not due to any difference between ZC 1.39 and 1.5. I suggest that you make the PHP and MySQL fixes in QBI if needed (depending on the PHP and MySQL versions on your server), check the database connection login details in the QBI config, and check your server log for any PHP errors when you try to run QBI.
Thanks,
Adam

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I just installed this on 1.5 cart - used the page admin registration (BOX_CUSTOMERS_QBI for both the first 2 boxes, FILENAME_QBI for filename. Put it under tools with sort of 20). It shows up and installs. I have not and will not be the one configuring it so I may eventually hear back that something doesn't work but it looks good at first glance.

Re: Quickbooks Import QBI
I have an installation of 1.51 and am trying to install QBI. After following the installation procedures, when I login to zen-cart admin there is no link for the installation module in customers, therefore I am unable to complete installation.
After reading through numerous pages of this blog the only thing I am able to find addressing this issue is back in Jan 2010 stating that qbi_customers_dhtml.php should be in extra_boxes rather than boxes. I checked and the version I downloaded already has this change made so that is not my issue.
My question now is: will QBI work with version 1.51 or does anyone know what I can do to make it work?

OK I followed the instructions posted by delia for Admin Page Registration and was able to get to the database installation page (I placed it in "customers" rather than tools). I ran this step and it said that the installation was successful, however when I follow the instructions to configure QBI it takes me back to the install page /qbi_install.php?db_ver=0&qbi_vers=3.21
There is no option to configure.
