Hello,
Currently playing around with this template working on a new web site http://www.tigerdio.com/newtigerdio/ couple of questions. First where do you do to adjust the define sales header text?? Ive looked throgh most of the style sheets but don't see where this is adjusted. Secondly how or where do you change the text for the web page tab/bookmark title right now it says Westminster New Zen Cart Template, by Picaflor Azul Thanks for any help

I am trying to remove the Header Sales Text in the header (under logo) to bring the rest of the page up by negating the space that this uses - I think I have isolated where to do it but not sure how to edit out - I tried using // to edit out certain lines but then lost the template altogether so I am obviously putting them in the wrong place - I am definitely not a coder so need some help.

For option 1, I didn't tell you to comment-out the whole define. I told you to change the define so that its value was defined as blank.
For option 2, well, the layout probably broke because what I told you to remove included an extra </div> that shouldn't have been there in the first place. I made the mistake of assuming that the template code you quoted hadn't been unreasonably messed with.
Oh man, whoever customized that section of the code broke up all the logic badly, moving HTML around without respect to the PHP logic that controls optional components displaying when they should and hiding when they shouldn't.
Change that whole section of code to this (I've moved 2 </div> tags around):

Hello I am using vs 1.5.5e with Westminster New and am trying to copy more of the "homead1,2,3"on the home page. I saw this:
In the middle of the home page there are three homeads. Is there a way to add more of these?
You can add more in includes/languages/english/html_includes/westminster_new/define_main_page.php. If you want them to be editable via the banner manager you will have to create new banner groups.
I have copied and pasted the php code and changed the "homead1" to my new "homead4". My test site is http://www.karendonleavy.technicalcomputer.com/
What am I missing?

Just upgraded a site from ZC 1.5.1 to 1.5.5e
The site owner alerted me that the search box in the header is showing in all browsers (Firefox, Safari, Opera) but it will not show in Chrome. Checked it on my box on Chrome and yes, they are right. Only the 'Go' button shows, but not the search box.

Here is a light:
If you turn off the background from tylesheet.css line #324 you will see the search box.

Thanks for the responses. I should clarify. The customs tab is easy. But the extra tabs that I renamed are the issue. Apparently the text has to be in the actual product description field, but is there some sort of insert, like 'Enter the following text to Tab 1'. At what point in the description field does the text move over to the actual new tabs?
I fiddled about with includes/templates/picaflor template/templates/tpl_product_info_display to have all the product info, including # in stock, show on one tab and have my attributes list show on second tab (from attributes I set to use Dynamic Filters mod) and to blank out (uncomment) the third tab. I did that by cutting and pasting the associated bits of code into the 'section 1, 2, 3' parts of that file. I didn't create any new code - just shifted stuff around. I think that would work if you are trying to relocate an entire field from one tab to another. If just trying to insert some text or partial field, I don't know how to do that.Quote:

Trying out Westminster and my fourth-level menu items are smaller than the three levels upstream from it. Having a tough time finding where to adjust the size, to make it the same. Must be missing something in the CSS files(?) Cannot find anything for <ul class="level4">.

According to the readme, the content of the slide out is defined as SLIDE_OUT_CONTENT. You can use the Developer's Toolkit to find the files that use that define.
It appears that the slide-out uses javascript and some non-javascript code. You may be able to comment out lines 387 - 391 and get the job done.
This information is also available by searching the thread with "delete left slide out." Sometimes, the forum search is gnarly. If you use the same search in Google, just add picaflor to the search. Much better way to search the site.

I love using this template but I am having a slight problem. I am trying to change the background color of the shopping cart, but only in mobile. My site is black and maroon with text. A white shopping cart background does not work for me. No matter what I do it won't change. I have been using Zen Cart long enough to know it has to do with the css but I cannot find the line I need. Can anyone help?

In Admin panel, configuration/Layout - turn on Categories - always show on main page - to true. You can set how many category boxes show per row in admin/configuration/maximum values - categories to list per row. Default is 3 but you can change to suit.
Don't know if there is a max number - I don't use it but just tested this and my 20 categories showed fine. (I think these are general zen cart features, not template specific.)
I think this is template specific because it does not work for me.The default name for these are "homead banner" 1,2 or 3. I did pay the author of this template $150.00 to add a forth banner for me which she did but she did not answer my last email so I think she is no longer on this forum. You have a "partial whitescreen" -- i.e. some, but not all, of the page was rendered. Look in your store's /logs directory for a myDEBUG*.log file that identifies the source of the issue.

Forgive me but I have another question:
In the Westminster_new_defines.php file I see this code:

I suddenly got two questions really beat me down.Would you please kindly help to take a look at?
1. Don't know why when I click categories, information tab on the top of the main page, only color change and there is no pop-up menu appears.
2. In the mobile browser, the website logo is not shown, I don't know why.
Here is another problem with Westminster_new template.
Followed instructions for changing the social contacts url's and got the code showing instead of the icons????

I have got a REALLY stupid question. After installing the template (which we REALLY like) I did a couple of tests where I went to an item and clicked on the Facebook button to share on our facebook. While the correct description and link are showing up, the pictures that are showing up are not the right images. Am I missing something really silly here?

The sub-categories are not showing on any of the main category pages and on the desktop view the following module is shown/loaded /includes/templates/westminster_new/templates/tpl_modules_mobile_categories_tabs.php and the page https://merlin-industrial.com/safety-c-1/ example does not show anything apart from the top category description..
I have tried the various setting in Admin configuration "Categories - Always Show on Main Page" set to 1 stops featured products etc and makes no difference.
The only way to see the sub-categories is in the dropdown menu.
Any help respectively received.

Not really related to the template but, you've left out or added something the browser doesn't like. Take a look at https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?124-blank-page
It is specifically related to this template only. I'm not getting a blank web page, the configuration options for the template are missing. Those options are usually inserted once a sql file is uploaded, but this template doesn't come with one. Does anyone else have the template configuration options (under admin:configuration...)?Quote:

I was trying to use a single page rather than sideboxes though did change the layout controller as suggested and the categories only show on the product pages and not in the main categories.
In the source I cannot see tpl_categories.php though <!--bof handheld menu display--> and I am on a desktop display.
Searching for bof above in admin tools I get the following so maybe there is something wrong and the mobile layout is showing instead?

Ok, I need help. I've used ZenCart and the Westminster New template for a while now and never had this problem. Items add fine and look right in the category page BUT (I've added screenshots) the item page is messed up AND the additional images do not show (yes, I've named them correctly and they're in the right folders) Again, I've used ZenCart for many, many years and the template for a couple years. The actual site is beabellaoriginal.net/shop
If someone can point me to the code that needs fixing , I would greatly appreciate

Well, i re-uploaded some of the template files for the Product Listing pages and it seems to have fixed the problem.
new install of Zen cart 1.5.4
When viewing my site using my phone I open my category list using the menu but as soon as I try to scroll down through the list, the list closes.
Number one, why start a new install with an old version of Zen Cart?Quote:

My Question: The code behind the Contact Us button does not send after the form is filled out, even thou I receive a confirmation that it has been sent. I used the Email_Test program and found out smtp process is stuck on port 25 when I need 587. So it looks to me like the form is not connecting to the email options page. The Configuration_Email_Options page is filled out correctly because I can send customers emails and receive email orders. I have sent a test email using every setting available, and still no email. So what am I missing? Thanks for your help, Zen Cart is a great program.

1. the drop down menu on the index page is not showing - what have I missed? where is that switched on?
2. the frame that contains the slider and the banner - if banner and slider are turned off how can I delete that frame? (currently shows white space in a frame)

Thanks dbltoe - it has less to do with posting tips or FAQ's than the fact that far too many templates and plugins in ZC are no longer supported and it then rests on 'volunteers' like yourself who are very, very few in number trying to support unsupported threads and doing so to the best of your ability but often understandably without any first hand experience of the particular template or plugin (hence your 'which drop down menu' question)Quote:

I am 64 yrs old and not a developer however I have collaborated with developers in the repair and updating of one plugin and the development of one plugin so I am not just a taker.
I am in need of some assistance as my sites are suffering, essentially because the responsiveness of the templates being used is 'broken', the cause of which is twofold, partly of my own doing (mistakes or file merging issues) and primarily because some plugins break responsiveness. Regardless of the cause if I could fix it I would and believe me when I say I have spent numerous hours over the past couple of weeks trying to sort out a number of issues.
So dbltoe, with respect if need be to catch the attention of someone who can provide answers to my issues I will as a matter of 'necessity' post multiple times in multiple threads.
At present I am upgrading one of my 6 sites from 1.5.1 to 1.5.5f using the total rebuild method as I am not confident enough to use the standard upgrade method (too many past failures in the past).
I have installed a lat9 drop down menu to temporarily solve the drop down menu problem and I have now only one issue I need to solve and then I can move on to doing the rebuild of the other 5 sites;
making the pages 'full screen width' (no RH gutter or whitespace) on desktop - currently have global setting RH column 'off' and RH Column Width set to zero but page still is not full width - I have tried a few of the suggestions in the thread including changing responsive css files and none have worked - I have One Page Checkout and Editable Center Boxes installed and deleting these plugins didn't have an effect of page width.

I have upgraded a site from v1.5.1 to v1.5.5f and am using Westminster New template. Everything is fine when using PHP 5.6 but when I change to PHP 7.1 to get the advantages of that version I have the issue that the product info page doesn't load correctly - the only thing that shows is the product image. If I change template to the installed Responsive Classic template I do not get this problem, i.e. the product info page loads correctly.
I know little about PHP so therefore I am not sure where to look to attempt to solve the problem. From what I can gather the basis for this template is the same as , or similar to, the Responsive Classic for version1.5.5 so I am guessing that something in a specif part of the Westminster New template is not compliant with 7.1 (oh really Sherlock?) - what that may be I'm unsure - every other aspect of the functionality of the site when set to PHP 7.1 using this template works as it should
So I am looking for some help please in trying to get this situation resolved.

Mike, you're seeing a partial-whitescreen ... implying that a myDEBUG*.log file has is waiting in your store's /logs directory to identify the cause of the issue.
Thanks for responding Cindy - that is just it, no error log is registered!! I have switched back and forth between 5.6 and 7.1 a number of times on 3 sites and it is the very same result and in no case is there a myDEBUG error log. As I said above it is only one element of the template, everything else resolves as it should.Quote:

I fixed the problem (never thought I would be able to say that!!) - I've never been able to do anything like this before so I am pretty chuffed - I looked at the errors in the my DEBUG and did a file comparison between the files in Westminster New and those in the ZC 1.5.5F download .... AND did a Google search which took me straight to https://github.com/DivaVocals/zen_Im...dler/issues/16 where torvista had posted a fix for the exact issue hence validating what I found - the combination allowed me to modify the two files includes/classes/categories_ul_generator.php and includes/modules/westminster_new/additional_images.php and bingo problem solved.
In case any others have had the problem or encounter it in the future here is the file modification required.

Hi - I am trying to move the search box from underneath the log (see image) to up on the header menu bar alongside 'language' but am having no joy - I have searched this thread and posts relating to moving the position of the search box but all seem to be mobile screen related. I figure there needs to be an entry something along the lines of those in the shown below section of the includes/templates/westminster_new/common/tpl_header
