Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.5
Ok I have searched and I have read... but can't seem to find the answer to this one.. I'm running Zencart 1.5.1 and have attempted to install the stock by attributes 1.4.14 (which got from the plug-ins page) and for some reason the Catalog->Products with Attributes Stock option is not listed in the Admin screen ??? I have double triple checked that all the files are in the right spots... please help.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.5
you've installed a version that is not compatible with Zencart 1.5.1.
you should go here for the most current Beta version.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.5
Hi all, hope you can help. had this mod ages and only just noticed this so not sure how long it has been going on.
When I am in the admin and go to products_with_attributes_stock.php if i scroll all the way to the bottom, the table goes all messed up and all the entries end up as text with no hyperlinks on the add and delete etc??
Really not sure whats going on or why its doing this. Has anyone else come across this before?
Kind Regards

Could someone help?
I have installe SBA 1.4.13 and from the Admin all apeare ok. Im on v1.3.9h
If I set Stock > Ckeck Stock Level = True, then the 2 items I have setup in SBA show as out of stock. I get the warning even if I order one item.
Have I missed something obvious?

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Can someone assist....I sell designs that are printed on white shirts when a purchase of specific size shirt is made. So I have a common pool of white size 10, 12, 14 etc can this mod be configured such that I don't have to allocate shirt stock to each design, but rather show the qty of the shirts for certain sizes from a pool of stock shared amongst many products (designs) for sale? I tried to explain this here too, before seeing this thread....

All input appreciated!!#

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Ok Ive looked for quite a while through the thread but havent found an answer to this..
AND its a question that comes up a lot, so please dont groan heh
I need to display the stock levels next to the attributes, well an out of stock notice next to any that are out of stock.
I saw in the wiki how it can be done for products with one attribute, but all our products have at least 2.
I saw one forum post state the following
Quote:
This is tricky to do, it either requires a page reload whenever an attribute is picked (to check stock), or some sort of AJAX solution.
I do have an idea to handle this. Instead of showing a form option for each seperate attribute, it would show a dropdown offering all permutions of attribute. This way we could check stock on each permutation and show or not show it depending on its stock.
But there was nothing further on that.
So 2 questions, can it be done at all using this mod?
If not what mod should I use that can do this?
Im on 1.39h
-
Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Yes this mod will do that but requires modification.
Refer to the WIKI for instructions

This is relatively straightforward if you have only a single attribute such as size of color for each product. Code for this is proposed in this archive thread[1]. Seek out post #110 by Grayson, and her correction in #132 and apply the changes to the includes/modules/attributes.php file instead of includes/modules/pages/product_info/main_template_vars_attributes.php
Thats for a single attribute only, and wont work for me as I outlined in my post.
Or did I miss something else on the WIKI page?
-
Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
I believe if one of the attributes is something like customizable text and the other one is size or color, then it should work. but if you somehow have cascading attributes (like Color then size or vice versa), I don't think it works though someone with more coding experience may have managed to get something functional for that type of situation

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Yes, attributes that define the product like colour, size etc.
If this mod cant do this, can anyone point me to one that can.

Thats interesting, we couldnt use the grid format though, we use a lot of options 8 colours 8 sizes is very common for us. But obviously the info is there and can be displayed, I just need this in the standard dropdown list format with stock levels next to each one.
Of course the dynamic requirement makes it tough, ie depending on which attribute you select from one dropdown changes the other dropdown... your grid system doesnt have to deal with that.
So has this been done before?

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Hi,
I downloaded the contribution from http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=202.
I applied both Version: 1.4.13 and Version: 1.4.14. When I went back to admin and try to add an item, I only see Product Priced by Attributes.
Would you please advise?

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
hi Kuroi,
I tried hard, but could not find anywhere:
how can i use attributes by stock for a specific category only?
I mean I am now using "attributes" to some categories, but want "stock by attributes" for one category only.
I am using zen cart version 1.3.7
please reply soon.
best regards,

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Regarding the problem with low stock warning missing for products in shopping cart, it seems like some code has been los on it's way in the versions.
Re-adding this at line 85-93 in includes/modules/pages/shopping_cart/header_php.php seems to solve the issue (why it was removed I don't know):
Code:
if (STOCK_CHECK == 'true') {
$flagStockCheck = zen_check_stock($products[$i]['id'], $products[$i]['quantity']);
if ($flagStockCheck == true) {
$flagAnyOutOfStock = true;
}
$stockAvailable = zen_get_products_stock($products[$i]['id']);
}

I have the same problem, low stock warning is missing in shopping cart and no picture "out of stock" is visible. Problem is I already have this code in the file. Is there any other code missing? Does anyone else have this problem.

I have to ask my question in another way. Products with attributes is working fine. You can't checkout when out of stock. But a lot of my products don't have attributes and with these you can checkout when stock is zero or below. I have tried to serch for this question but can't find an answer. Do I have to set attributes to all products to make this addon work?

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.5
Im using this mod on several sites and its great.
I have a question about how to use it.
If I want to say delete all the stock levels Ive entered for a product, or overwrite them say, how is that done?
I know there is the delete button, but this happens a lot when we restock and there are about 60 combinations per product so thats a lot of click/confirm that I have to do.
Why cant we just overwrite a stock level?
If I select "All" for each attribute and make it a number like say 20, I get a whole bunch of new attribute "ID's", it would be better if they were overwritten.
Thats another question if size 5, colour red has 2 "ID's" which one does the store use and are they both reduced by 1 when a sale is made.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Using ZC Ver. 1.51
I am using the flavor of Stock by Attributes written by Kuroi and last Updated by gonsman - 3 Jan 2013. Since there seem to be several SBA plugins all named the same thing I was unable to locate a specific thread for this one. So I will just put forth my dilema here.
One of our product types has several attributes. Each attribute has several elements. Of course with SBA this combination results in an exponitial number of variants. I stopped counting at 150 variants per product.
Questions:
How can I remove the variants from the products in question without having to manually edit 7500 plus entries?
Is there are way to exclude a category from SBA?
I will take my answer off the air.
-
Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
And where is the 1.51 thread?

As you pointed out there are several variants for SBA floating around out here, and the only v1.5.1 support thread is for one of those variants.. and since that version is clearly different form the one you are running you won't want to post there.. Suffice it to say that there isn't a specific support thread for some of variants of SBA available in the free downloads.. It's been somewhat of a free for all for quite some time now..

There is no easy way to do this.....
Look in your admin section of products with attributes with stock and find your product id number (the number net to the model number).
Then you can run this sql table update. BACK UP YOUR DATABASE FIRST!!
In the >Admin>Tools>Install sql Patches
UPDATE products_with_attributes_stock SET quantity=0
WHERE products_id=???
Substitute the ??? for the product_id number you want to change - and you can set quantity to any number you have, this would set all attributes with that product_id to the quantity you enter.
Hope this helps.
-
Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.5
Thanks for that, I can work with that.
What would the query be to delete all the stock attribute levels for a product?

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Is anyone available for paid support for this mod?
I have a feature request, we want to have the stock levels show up in the dropdown list. All our products have more than one attribute, so some sort of ajax cascading options system.
My client loses a lot of sales because things are out of stock and we would like to be able to show customers before they hit the cart.
-
Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.5
Ok just a tip for anyone, if you duplicate a product in zencart it doesnt duplicate the stock by attributes settings so thats a way to delete them all. I cloned the product and then deleted the original product.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.5
After a 2 day exhausting search, I am stumped. I have the Stock by Attribute addon working fine, however is there a way to prevent checkout if a buyer tries to purchase 10 large shirts, if there are only 7 large shirts in stock? The site is preventing buyer right now from checking out if they try to order more than the total quantity available, however I need to prevent them from buying by attribute, not total.
make sense?

Try setting ALLOW CHECKOUT in Admin>Stock to "false"
This should let the customer know to pick a low quantity to be able to checkout.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 for Zen Cart 1.3.5
Thanks for the idea but that does not work, it will allow the checkout based on the total stock on hand, not what is available for each attribute. Does anybody else have a resolution to this problem?

well, lot of time passed since your contribution, but I really lost one full day to be able to find why the hell I had no more notifications in my carts of articles being present in quantities above availability and no chance to confirm the purchase from my customer...
All of this without any notification at all..
I think you deserve one more THANK YOU !!!
It works like a charm now, while before no notification at all, for any article (not only those with attributes...).
Strange nobody thought about updating the package available for download with this fix...
And, to cancel any misunderstanding, I'm on ZC v.1.3.9h, using v1.4.14 of this addon... :P

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Hi,
I'm using ZC 1.5.1 and SBA 1.5.0. I love this plugin, but have the following situation...
A few of my products have 2 attributes, each with 2 choices. Rollers ("black" and "white") are removable and thus available in unlimited quantities, while sleeves ("decorated" and "smooth") are fixed and only available in very small quantities (1 smooth and 2 decorated, for a total of 3 sets). The plugin mixes and matches the attributes, and wants me to tell it that there are so many sets with black rollers + decorated sleeves, white rollers + decorated sleeves, black rollers + smooth sleeves, and white rollers + smooth sleeves. When I do 1 each, I end up with a total of 4 (while I only have 3), and people can't get 2 sets with decorated sleeves and the same color rollers (although in fact that would be possible as the rollers can be replaced at will).
Short of setting up the decorated-sleeved and smooth-sleeved sets as 2 separate products, is there a way *not* to count the rollers at all, just the sleeves? How would I go about achieving the end result like this:
2 sets with decorated sleeves + either black or white rollers
1 set with smooth sleeves + either black or white rollers
Thank you!
Magz

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
I made some updates to support our store, new version with these updates has been submitted.
This new version was only tested on Zen Cart 1.5.1.
Updated the files to resolve bugs and to add an ability for showing option values as out of stock on product page, attribute qty on product page, and stock of products without attributes in cart. All setting are controlled by options in the admin under Configuration/Stock. Details of changes are included in the package in the file Updates.txt.
Remember to always test prior to using on your production site.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
"showing option values as out of stock on product page"
Does that work when theres more than 1 attribute for a product? Say something has 3 colours and 3 sizes for example.
Also you say tested with 1.51 only, but should this version work with 1.39h?

It will NOT work with version 1.3x of Zen Cart. It has the newer code structure from 1.5x in it.
I have only tested it with one attribute level (example: Fish wall decor with 4 size attributes 8 in, 12 inch, 24 inch, 28 inch), I expect it might work but I have not tested that. Did not think of the scenario you mentioned, since we do not currently have any product like that.
You can see some of what this does on our site http://www.caribbeanrays.com/ if you look at the product I have one out of stock http://www.caribbeanrays.com/gecko-m...al-gecko-decor.
If you add to cart (do not need to login or have an account) then you will see what indication you get in the cart also.
I plan to make another update to fix the 'Catalog/Products with Attributes Stock' entry page, so it will show a smaller number of products to manage at one time (like the products page works). So, I can look at testing your scenario. If you have additional details I should know when setting up the scenario please let me know.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Hi, nothing special just products that have more than 1 attribute. Its a known lacking feature and I think you would have had to code specifically for this to work. But test and let me know, thanks.

Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
Update for stock_by_attribute version 1.5.1, I found a small display issue with the way I implemented a new feature in the mod.
Until I finish the other things I want to do with the mod, here is the fix, replace one file and add one more option to the configuration table.
Replace the attributes.php with this one Attachment 12827 (unzip it).
Add the new option with this sql clip
Code:
INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order,
last_modified, date_added, use_function, set_function)
VALUES ('Show original price struck through', 'STOCK_SHOW_ORIGINAL_PRICE_STRUCK', 'false',
'Show the original price (strike through) on product info page with attributes:',
'9',
'6',
NULL,
now(),
NULL,
'zen_cfg_select_option(array(\'true\', \'false\'),'
)

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
How can I have a "cutdown" version of this plugin?
I find its really slow to use now, we have a few hundred products and each has about 40 or so attribute combinations. Particularly tedious when we have to edit a dozen or more stock levels for a particular product, each submit send you back to the list of all of the attribute stock levels.
Theres no pagination so the mod loads everything on the page at once.
All I want is the base page to only show the search function. That way I can edit the product I want and not load all the others.
Perhaps a way of using it as it is now as well, but I would be happy even just using 2 files and renaming one if I need the entire list.
I looked at the code but couldnt see an easy way of just deleting the part that lists everything.

The attached file is a "Quick Fix", please test it to see if it does what you want before using on an active site.
The file will replace: stock_by_attribute\admin\includes\classes\products_with_attributes_stock.php
I suggest you back up before using this.
It will give you a search box, no product listing, and you must know the product ID number or product name to search for it (I commented out the model number as it gave me too many returns, you can change it back if you like, it is still in the file on line 115). Attachment 12884
Let me know how it goes please.
FYI, I have been trying to get pagination working with no good results as of yet.

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
Oh my god I just found out I have an issue after installing this attribute module.
here is my website: http://www.minicoboutique.com
ZC version: 1.3.9.h
I have 2 types of products, the first one is no attributes needed, the second one is attributes needed. So I installed this Stock by Attribute module.
But I just realized only the products with attributes shows can be ordered, the products without attributes can't be ordered neither show detail.
Example:
With attributes: http://www.minicoboutique.com/index....products_id=92
Without attributes: http://www.minicoboutique.com/index....products_id=87
Looks like the products without attributes will be counted as 0 quantity even through I added quantity on product/category pages!? How can I fix it??
Thanks!!! :(

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
Which version of the MOD did you install?
For Zen Cart 1.3.x you should have used Stock by Attributes - Version: 1.4.14
This is noted on the download page and in the installation instructions.
You may need to check your setting under Configuration/Stock
In there you have an option to allow checkout with low and out of stock items, this may need to be set to true.
Remember to ALWAYS test mods out on a local test server before putting them onto an active store, all too often mods will conflict with other mods you have installed. Because of the large number of mods available we seldom know of a problem until someone runs into it.

Remember to ALWAYS test mods out on a local test server before putting them onto an active store, all too often mods will conflict with other mods you have installed. Because of the large number of mods available we seldom know of a problem until someone runs into it.
Thank you for reply sir.
I checked the mod version is 1.4.14, Allow checkout is set as TRUE in Configuration/Stock. Do I still miss something?
Thanks... :(

You might also set "Configuration/Stock/Check stock level" to false
Just to see if that is causing the problem.

Just turned it to FALSE, doesn't improve...

I have taken a few minutes today to create (merged/update) a Zen Cart 1.3.9h version of the mod I updated for Zen Cart 1.5.1.
BUT, I have not yet tested it as I do not have a stable setup of the older zen cart store (we moved onto the 1.5.1 version), if anyone has a TEST store to try this on I can provide them with the test version. It should provide all the newer options and fix a couple of bugs, but needs to be tested prior to use on any active store.

I think I do have a 1.3.9h site ok for testing, will message you later. :)

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
After install I am getting a blank admin page.
Below is the error in cache.
[14-Aug-2013 12:20:12] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function zen_draw_admin_box() in /home/naweoa/public_html/naweoastore/admin/includes/boxes/catalog_dhtml.php on line 44
replacing the
admin/includes/function/general.php file with the old file gets the page up again but without the Stock by Attribute function of course.
I have changed the name of my admin folder for security. I have also changed the name of my admin folder to match in this post error message.

Based on what you said, I assume you are using Zen Cart version 1.3.9 and the mod version 1.4.14, would that be correct??
(Note that The "zen_draw_admin_box" function is not a part of Zen Cart 1.5 and that the "dhtml.php" is no longer used in 1.5).

Now I try to install the 1.4.14 ver of mod to Zen 1.3.9.h (Not the test site), I overwrite all files and execute the sql file but get this error:
1062 Duplicate entry 'STOCK_SHOW_LOW_IN_CART' for key 'unq_config_key_zen'
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, last_modified, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES ('Show available stock level in cart when less than order', 'STOCK_SHOW_LOW_IN_CART', 'false', 'When customer places more items in cart than are available, show the available amount on the shopping cart page:', '9', '6', NULL, now(), NULL, "zen_cfg_select_option(array('true', 'false')," ), ('Display Images in Admin', 'STOCK_SHOW_IMAGE', 'false', 'Display image thumbnails on Products With Attributes Stock page? (warning, setting this to true can severly slow the loading of this page):', '9', '6', NULL, now(), NULL, "zen_cfg_select_option(array('true', 'false')," );]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.
I can't remember if I upload this sql file before but I think I never gotten this message. Will this cause the issue? How can I fix this??

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
Sir I like to inform you that I fix the issue. I made so stupid mistake when I changed tpl_product_info_display.php, I put an extra } mark right after the attribute part so the template can't load product info properly.
I deeply appreciate your help and wish you the best. Thank you so very much :D

This had worked out great for me, the stock edits are way faster now, love it.
The only feature I could see as being handy would be after editing or adding a stock level and hitting save, the page loaded next could show that product and its stock/attribute levels. That might be tricky though I dont know.
Thanks for this update, Im using it on a live site with no problems.

I do not think there is a problem, this is based on a couple of things, first you indicated in your next post that it is working. Second, normally this error is telling you that you already have the item in your database and thus the script just stops, it should not have added anything new from the error forward, and it did not continue past the error (since it error-ed out on the first entry nothing should have changed in the database).
You may want to look in the admin under configuration/stock and see that both of these option that the script was to install are actually there, if they are I suspect everything is okay.
'Show available stock level in cart when less than order'
'Display Images in Admin'

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
I just installed stock_by_attribute_1.5.1.1 on a fresh install of Zen Cart 1.5.1.
Everything seems to be OK, except on the product display page. When a product attribute/variant (in this case size: 5 x 7), is Out of Stock, it shows out of stock but it places 2 instead of 0 for Qty(quantity). Which seems to be coming from the previous attribute (4 x 6). Following is the pictures of what I see.

Has any one encountered this problem?

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
Well it shows I am using zen cart v1.5.1.. However if dhtml.php is not used in that version then a file or files must not have gotten updated.

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
Does any one know of a SQL statement or scheme to update and or add quantities to products_with_attributes_stock table from an external csv file?

Hi, Thanks for spotting this, I have a fix.
You can do either of the following:
1. Replace the "includes\modules\attributes.php" file with this one Attachment 12915
or
2. If you have made changes to the 'attributes.php' file then add this code on/or about line 118 before the if() "$PWA_STOCK_QTY = null;//initialize variable"
Code:
//add qty to atributes based on STOCK_SHOW_ATTRIB_LEVEL_STOCK setting
$PWA_STOCK_QTY = null;//initialize variable
if(STOCK_SHOW_ATTRIB_LEVEL_STOCK == 'true' && $qtyeachoption->fields['quantity'] > 0 ){
$PWA_STOCK_QTY = PWA_STOCK_QTY . $qtyeachoption->fields['quantity'] . ' ';
}
// END "Stock by Attributes"
I will add this to the next version I upload, currently trying to get pagination working on the entry page so that a smaller selection of product is displayed at one time.

Problem is FIXED. Thanks.
Another question:
I know if you set Allow Checkout to false, the out of stock product would not show up on the product_info page. Is there a way to display the Out of Stock product without being able to add it to the cart?

I have modified one line in the stats_products_purchased.php file located in the root of YOUR_ADMIN folder.
FROM THIS:
$products_query_raw = "select p.products_id, p.products_ordered, pd.products_name from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd where pd.products_id = p.products_id and pd.language_id = '" . $_SESSION['languages_id']. "' and p.products_ordered > 0 group by pd.products_id order by p.products_ordered DESC, pd.products_name";
TO THIS:
$products_query_raw = "select p.products_id, p.products_ordered, pd.products_name from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd where pd.products_id = p.products_id and pd.language_id = '" . $_SESSION['languages_id']. "' group by pd.products_id order by pd.products_name ASC, p.products_id";
This will still show you the products purchased, but it displays them by name rather than by quantity purchased
and will also show zero quantity purchases so you can easily get a product id number.
Be sure to BACKUP your original file before you modify it.

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
If a product has 2 attributes (size and color) and the inventory is only kept by the size of the product and not by the color.
Is there a way to track inventory by size only? As the color is only used as read only Attribute for filtering and description purposes.
-
Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
And if you already have 1000 of product size attributes in your existing site, how would you add all of them to products_with_attributes_stock table?
I hope the answer is not one by one through admin!

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.1
While reading the wiki I noticed the following:
Quote:
I offer my customers a choice of gift wrapping / ring setting / picture frame / container / monogram style, but don't want to create product variants for every combination of products and gift wrapping ... How can I avoid this?
This is an important issue that is affecting a number of stores as the variety of situations mentioned in the question above indicates. A workable solution is discussed from posts 199 to 204 in an archived stock by attributes thread
[2]. However, as this intrudes into critical Zen Code and tables there are no plans incorporate it into this mod, though it will be considered for inclusion when the function is incorporated into Zen Cart's core code.
As I have explained I am in the same situation and frozen. I read posts 199 to 204 but did not find the code change for it. Where can I get the code change for this? Would appreciate your help on this.

Good morning (at least it is here....)
I had provided as part of the mod update an 'Optional.sql' file, this file finds all the products that have attributes in your database and creates entries into the new stock by attribute table. This worked great for me, but I have only one variable (size) for products. Did you happen to try this sql file on a TEST version of your database??
If that is too simplistic of an approach for your data set, I would need a sample (if your willing to provide) of your database (the sample will need to be 'sanitized' to remove any customer related information, orders, etc.) all I think I would need from your database is the following tables to try an create a custom sql file (as this is done on my spare time as a hobby I can not say how long it will take)
Code:
products
products_attributes
products_attributes_download
products_description
products_options
products_options_types
products_options_values_to_products_options
products_with_attributes_stock

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
Hi
I have installed Stock by Attributes - Version: 1.5.0 on a zen cart 1.5.0. The module documentation says:
You will also want to consider the settings in Configuration->Stock. The settings here will determine things such as whether or not a customer will be allowed to checkout when insufficient stock is on hand. As well as controlling the new feature that allows you display the amount of stock available on the shopping cart page if a customer tries to buy more
than the recorded stock.
I don't see anything in Configuration->Stock for controlling the new feature. What setting should be there?
Could some tell me please what setting I should be seeing in there?
thanks

For some reason the automatic sql installation didn't add it but I did find the sql in the legacy folder so I was able to activate it.

I also see in your list
"Show available stock level on product page with the attribute (option) >false or true "
The version module (1.5.0) I'm using does not include it. I see the file
stock_by_attr_install.php for module version 1.5.1.1 does have it. If I install the sql for, Show available stock level on product page, will it work for module version 1.5.0?

The short answer is no.
The reason is, that was, a new option added to code in the latest version 1.5.1.
As a note I am working with another member, Kevin205, to make some significant improvements to this mod and add some level of user instructions to help with understanding what each of the option switches in the "Configuration/Stock" will provide, and maybe a recommended base setting.
This update will replace the previous version (1.5.0, 1.5.1, and 1.5.1.1) since most of the files have at least a small amount of code updates. It will add too and correct some of the behaviors this mod exhibits, some of which were lost over time as it was updated.
I am hoping to have a beta version posted for anyone wanting to test and provide us feedback in the near future. It will not be perfect, but I think everyone will like the updates. But it will only be compatible with Zen Cart 1.5.1 since the CORE file modifications are based on 1.5.1.

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
Hi everyone,
I have installed the products with attributes and dynamic drop downs addons which I love but unfortunately doesn't work with some of my products.
All the dresses on the site are stock items so the addons works perfectly. The problem comes with my corsets which are made to order. The corsets have many variables and unless I state that there is one corset in stock for every variant then it shows out of stock when you get to the check put. If i do this the admin page for products with attributes stock become so slow to load that it fails to load and even if it does the page is too long.
The dresses can be seen working at:
http://www.curvesandcorsets.com/the-...-dress-company
and the corsets at:
http://www.curvesandcorsets.com/made...erbust-corsets
Can any one suggest a way a to make the corsets stock to be ignored?
Thanks in advance,
john

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
New version submitted, 1.5.1.2, I tried to upload it here, but the file size exceeded the allowable limit for uploads.
There have been a number of updates to this version. Most files have been updated, with some significant changes, see the file Updates.txt in the package. A new Users Guide is included that explains installation, configuration, product attribute set-up, and describers new and updated behaviors and functionality in the installation script, it contains the following topics: (Installation| Configuration | Attribute Stock Setup | Optional Update | Optional Export / Import).
This version should resolve most of the comments and questions recently posted to the forum, please read the Users Guide.
I would like to extend Thanks to member Kevin205, Kevin provided valuable suggestions, testing, and especially the work generating the Users Guide, Thank You!

A few questions (actually suggestions for future updates):
- What did you remove to bring the size down?
- There's a duplicate image in your instructions subfolder
- Is there a technical reason for still using jQuery 1.2.6 (from 2011)? (Note that jQuery 1.10 (or worst 1.9) is slated to be included in ZC v1.6.0)

- Is there a technical reason for still using jQuery 1.2.6 (from 2011)? (Note that jQuery 1.10 (or worst 1.9) is slated to be included in ZC v1.6.0)
Hello,
The size significantly increased due to the addition of the images for the users guide (whent from 132k to 1.4mb, with the images being 1.24mb of that change).
The file Updates.txt in the instructions folder lists the files I modified, moved, and replaced.
The jQuery was working, I did not think to replace it since it worked.
I can replace it in the next version (or this one but I already submitted it) I would just need to know which version is appropriate.

The upload has been queued for review.

Well, jQuery went through some compatibility changes between jQuery versions 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, etc.
So the right version is the latest one for which the custom jQuery code used by the plugin actually still works correctly. (Or better yet, is upgraded to be compatible with modern jQuery versions ... since that will definitely be necessary in order to make the next upgrade to ZC v1.6 when it is released. Something to keep in mind as you plan for next updates you're working on.)

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
I've got a minor problem. I know it will be an easy fix but just can't seem to find the answer. In my dropdowns, if a product is out of stock, rather than it being bold, it is showing the <b> </b> tags instead. Anyone else come across this?

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
Try this, in the file:
includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\products_with_attributes.php
Remove the <b> and </b> wrapped around the text on line 12.

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
I have this Mod installed on my site.
When I had it installed on my old site ( 1.3.8 )
I created a new product and DID NOT add attribute values and it would set it up to unlimited.
Now that I upgraded, (1.5.1) It sets it to default to Out Of Stock
Is there a way to set it the same way I had it?
I am putting in alot of drop shippers and it would be alot easier to add them
in bulk without having to add stock levels to every product.

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
I also had another question.
Is there a way to make the option box longer?
I have a product that is in 2 sizes
Extra Large
Standard
The option box only displays the out of stock item (It does say out of stock though)
BUt I would like it to show all the options and they can click on one to bring to the top. Is this possible?

Hi,
I will look at this, as a note, the mod I started with does not seem to have any code that directly supports the drop-down selection lists. The file attributes.php seems to only support Radio Buttons, Checkboxes, and text boxes.
This issue you have seems to me that it should be as simple as setting the style for the lists width to what you need. I will look to see where that is controlled.
I have made another update to this mode (two actually) one I submitted and is under review (I do not know its status) and one I just made updates to last night, that needs some testing, but now should properly support combinations of attributes to a product. Since you are using a Selection list, I was wondering if you have a TEST site that maybe you could try this new TEST ONLY version with and provide some feedback. It should NOT be used on a production site until after proper testing.
The current changes needing tests support the following:
This change allows support of many attribute combinations in the admin stock page.
"Multiple Attribute types in stock_attributes Field (Multiple attribute types per product) i.e, 123,321,234"
"Multiple Attributes selected (One attribute type per product)"
"Single Attribute"
"No Attribute"
Thus far Kevin and I have focused on testing using Radio buttons.

I will look at this, I think I have an idea but in the mean time you can simply change a setting in the configuration/Stock/Check Stock Level set to false.

I looked at your site, I did not see any style sheet setting for the selection list. Try putting this code into the style sheet used for that page.
I did not need to change anything and was able to display an extremely long text string.
Code:
.wrapperAttribsOptions
{
margin: 0.3em 0em;
}
This is in the default style sheet but does not seem to be in your templates style sheet.
includes\templates\YourTemplate\css\stylesheet.css

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
The only problem I have with that is I am mixing drop shippers with products I carry, 8o(

Re: Stock by Attribute v1.5.0
I think I may have asked the wrong thing.
I am looking to have the Dropdown box look like this
****************
* Sold Out - Xlarge *
****************
* Large *
* Medium *
*Small *
*****************
So if I click on Small it will go to the top.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Oh By the way. Yes I will test this on a test site if you would like me too.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Can I hide the attribute value if stock is Zero instead of saying it is out of stock?

A simple solution for the drop-down lists is making a small change in the attributes.php file, add size=3, where the 3 is what you want the list to show, this will affect all drop-down lists that use attributes. it can be made more robust by pre-selecting the list size and inserting that instead of the 3, but this is a quick dirty solution. This will NOT bring the selected item to the top, it is just highlighted.
Find this code near the bottom of the file in the default; block.
Code:
$options_menu[] = zen_draw_pull_down_menu('id[' . $products_options_names->fields['products_options_id'] . ']', $products_options_array, $selected_attribute, 'size=3 id="' . 'attrib-' . $products_options_names->field

Need your email address to send the file, probably best to send that in a private message.
I updated the test version to support the out of stock issue you asked about earlier.
