I want to do the same thing. I just loaded 7,000 products with easy populate and dread going into each one for MSRP price. If you go to the easy populate thread I asked the same question.

Here is the answer I received.

I am unfamiliar with the Dual Pricing Mod. If this mod directly changes the products database, then you can easily change Easy Populate the handle this added field. I am unfortunately (or should that be fortunately?!) involved in a large print project and 2 full eCommerce projects, so I don't have time to do this for you :(

But, this is what you need to do. If the Mod had an SQL patch, take a look at it. Did it update the products database? If so, what fields did it add? Open up easypopulate.php, and search on v_products_price. At each line reference (doing a search), add your new field, say "v_products_price_w"

Also note that the new CSV version is not quite the same as the TAB delimited version.

Wish I had time to help more, but just too busy... But this is not hard to do. Just make sure you BACKUP your databases first!

I am not good at looking at code and trying to figure out. If you are --- help would be greatly appreciated. I do not know the code where to put it. If I am not mistaken...I am using the tab delimited version.

This is what I ended up doing and it has worked flawlessly for me.

Editing easypopulate.php - Everywhere that I found a line with "v_products_price" in it I made a duplicate of that line just below it changing "price" to "msrp".

In my SQL file I opened the "products" table and added a field called "products_msrp" just below "products_price" using the same parameters.

I modified the CSS a bit and ended up with what you can see on my site now. I am very happy with the mod.

Kudos to all who gave tips for this and a BUNCH of other stuff that I could not have done without help from the folks who hang out here.:clap:

I did as you said although I didn't duplicate every single "product_price" line as it appears some of them relate to specials and perhaps other things? I did duplicate the ones that seem to relate to froogle although this may result in a bug when using the froogle feature? I have successfully downloaded and uploaded a msrp value using Easy Populate CSV. If anyone would like to see the file in question easypopulate.php please PM me and I'll email it to you.

Ok. I just solved the problem where the MSRP is equal to or LESS THAN the normal price. You can apply the change put forward by bigsy85 (see page 7 of the thread). And make one extra change.

Find this:

if ($display_normal_price == $display_msrp_price){

Replace with this:

if ($display_normal_price >= $display_msrp_price){

That will do it.

Alternatively you replace the entire routine with mine, although it is different to the one by bigsy85, I have a different strikethrough and just the percentage saving:

i have read almost of this thread, and searched it.

i have read the entire instructions and have done it 3 times already.

when i go into my admin after completing the install, i get this error when trying to select one of my products:

1054 Unknown column 'p.products_msrp' in 'field list'
in:

omg this is the stupidest thing....but i fixed it.

in my DB, i added the field product_msrp instead of products_msrp.

that sure makes me feel dumb. hahhaha

ok for real now.

i entered a msrp price in one of my products. saved it etc.

it doesnt show up on my web site.

no errors or anything else that i can see

suggestions on where to look?

Fatal error! cannot login to admin

Hello, I have recently found this awsome new mod msrp and am tring to install it. I manually installed it and followed the instructions, however I found I could not log into my admin of my store.

It keeps coming up with this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare zen_update_products_price_sorter() (previously declared in /home/urbvibz/public_html/admin/includes/functions/general.php:2517) in /home/urbanvibz/public_html/admin/includes/functions/functions_prices.php on line 1378

As I am new to this and coding I am not sure what to do.

I am using version 1.38. I have also tried to add a mod to changing prices all at once but that did not work, and the changes are still on. Not sure what changes they were.

I would be very greatful for anyone that can help me with this as I am only new. Thank you

Sounds like a bug or version-incompatibility in the addon.
Remove the files you added, and replace them with the ones that were there before you started installing the addon.

Yep, did that and went through all the files i modified and restored them to orginal. Now admin section is displaying this message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/urbvibz/public_html/admin/includes/functions/functions_prices.php on line 1365

And homepage is still blank.

I did the MSRP mod but I haven't seen anyone reporting this issue:
I have a custom template and I'm getting the "Price:MSRP:" to show on all products when MSRP is defined.
I found a way to get rid of the "Price:" label but then it is not shown for the products that do not have an MSRP defined.

Is this a simple redefine the code or am I looking at a major issue.

Any help appreciated.

Wondering how this works with attributes? If I have a product with a base-price of $59 and an MSRP of $129, but I have a few attribute options that increase the base price significantly, does it only show the % saved on the base price?

I suppose I should also mention that I have dynamic price updater installed, so the price changes as options are chosen, not after clicking checkout, like zc is by default.

All you do is copy and paste that line into Admin / Tools / Install SQL Patches inside your store admin.

If you created a prefix when you set up your store, something like zencart, then the line would look like this:

ALTER TABLE `zencart_products` ADD `products_msrp` DECIMAL( 15, 4 ) NOT NULL AFTER `products_price` ;

If you don't have a prefix then it would look like this:

ALTER TABLE `products` ADD `products_msrp` DECIMAL( 15, 4 ) NOT NULL AFTER `products_price` ;

How would I do this in phpMyAdmin? I added the "zen_products_msrp" field but I dont understand where to add the "AFTER `products_price` ;" bit

A created the "zencard_products_msrp" field with the type being a decimal and added the 15,4 length/value and selected not null and that is where i got stuck.

Nevermind...I'm an idiot.

I got it to work by taking the "zencart_" out of the statement and the Admin tool worked perfectly.

ALTER TABLE `zencart_products` ADD `products_msrp` DECIMAL( 15, 4 ) NOT NULL AFTER `products_price` ;

i had a problem on my site with some % showing 10 decimal places instead of 2 like this 56.000000001% and it was because of part of the calculation was out side of the number function so if you change this in

Does anyone know if this mod (MSRP) and this mod (MAP Pricing ( m.a.p ) : Add to Cart to See Price) are compatible - can they both be installed on a ZC store?

I am assuming that since they both deal with pricing there could be some conflicts with the code, anyway, does anyone know if they can both be installed on the same store. Is it at all possible?

Yes, we use both. You have to be careful when merging the code in functions_prices since they both modify the same function, but it works well.

It should just be v_products_msrp. But, if you haven't altered EP then it won't work. In case you haven't seen it, I created a tutorial on how to add fields to EP, you can read it here

This does not work for me. I still for some strange reason get it to upload my prices for msrp. Do I have to change the code for MSRP before it will work right. What I mean change it like the above says to. I see I have to put the higher cost of a item in msrp and what I'm selling it for in the Products Price to get it to show the lower price. Seems like this works backwards. Thanks for you help. I have tried the easy_populate_csv_1-2-5-6-csv-2
easy_populate 1-2-5-5, and I have the bought version easypopulate_3.0.3_inc_patch1. I can't get none of them to work.

I am setting up a new zencart and saw your post that you sucessfully use MSRP & MAP pricing mods together.
May I ask what version of zencart are you using?

I am using 1.3.8.
I do not have experience coding any web based code. Just some VB and a little C#. I am trying to figure out how to install both these mods.

I looked through the files, but am uncomfortable with what parts to insert into the 1.3.8 files for the MAP pricing mod(since it is in 1.3.6 files when you download it.) I also saw that the MSRP mod used some of the same files, so I know I could not upload the files from both mods seperatly.

Do you have any guidance on how you determined what parts to get from the mod files and merge into the server files.

How would you go about having the MSRP price displayed only to anonymous users vs the discounted price to registered users?
If anybody could point me to the mechanisms for checking logged vs anonymous users I might be able to figure it out myself!

Looks like the "hidden wholesale" contribution would not work for what I need. The documentation states that it's an "either/or" type scenario, where the products are either wholesale or retail, and at best you can show both to the wholesaler.
The issue I have is the cart is being used for wholesalers. The approach so far has been to block the store for everybody, and show prices only to users that are authorized to shop, via a registration approval.
The customer feels he's missing leads, so he'd like to display the MSRP (high and public) to discourage any consumers, but to attract potential wholesalers (they usually know they can get a good discount)
So what I really need is to display the "MSRP" for anonymous users and hide the "store price", while displating both for registered users.
Makes sense?

A logged in customer should have a session variable $_SESSION['customer_id']. So you could check for that to tell the difference.

I just installed this mod using the original .zip and all the fixes mentioned throughout the thread but it has wiped out my footer & right column and in my right column I have this error:

"1054 Unknown column 'products_msrp' in 'field list'
in:
[select products_msrp, products_priced_by_attribute from zen_products where products_id = '1463']"

I also have the 1054 error in admin when trying to navigate to edit a product. I did install the sql patch through phpMyAdmin and didn't get any errors.

I have reuploaded my unchanged files but still have the error, so I guess I need to remove the sql OR figure out why I'm getting the 1054 error. Can someone please help me? I'm lost :cry:

I installed this on a client's site recently and had no problems.

I decided to do MANUAL EDITS to my files, rather than FTP the module, because my files (that the module otherwise overwrites) are already customized.

When you applied the sql patch, did you do this via Admin >>> Tools, ... or via phpMyAdmin ?

If you do it via phpMyAdmin, and your dbase has PREFIXES, then you will have problems.

Small SQL patches are always best loaded via the admin panel, as it will automatically append a prefix if you use one.

I tried to do it via admin, but I couldn't get it to work. I did it then through phpMyadmin.

I thought I figured out what I did wrong - I didn't put on the prefix which when I look in my config file it says my db prefix is "zen_". So I tried reinstalling the patch with the prefix, but no luck.

I also tried to uninstall, including restoring my db but the error is still there :ohmy:

So, I'm down for maintenance until I get this straightened out...

Nevermind, stupid mistake on my part. It's now working perfectly.

Mentioned quite a few pages back -- has anyone figured out how to put the order as follows: MSRP, Our Price, You Save? I think that's a more sensible order.

I am now trying to merge the files between the MAP PRICING and MSRP mods and have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with:

1. is function_prices the only file that modifies the same code?

This mod works great! I am using it with product - general. Since, I have a bookstore with books and other items. I have product - book mod working and would like to add this one to it. All products should have same layout if book or not.

I can not get this mod to work with product - books. What files need to be modified? I am guessing sql should have something added to it.

Does anyone know what to do? I looked thru forum and could not find solution.

I took this on with my test store. I followed the readme file for MRSP and tried to apply to product-book files.

Hi

Hope someone here can help, have installed this mod, I also have the inc/ex vat mod installed, I initially had problem where I had a blank home page, but solved that by re establishing the inc/ex mod. I now have my main page back, but I do not have MSRP Price, you save etc. It is active in admin as I can put MSRP price in there, but not showing on product pages on site.

It's bound to be something easy, but i cant figure it out.

There are no settings in Admin for MSRP. Once applied it is always on.

Any answers to this? (I had an answer for 'where is MSRP in admin, thank you, forgot your name before I sent this)

Has anyone got Canada Post and MSRP working together?, if I install one, it disables the other, I have to reinstall Canada Post to get it working again.

I just installed this mod and it works fine except that it DOES NOT display the prices correctly.

It has something to do with:
TEXT_PRODUCT_MSRP
TEXT_PRODUCT_SAVE
TEXT_PRODUCT_OUR

in the includes/functions/functions_prices.php file.

because they show up in the storefront instead of what should be there!

Additionally I added a font size tag (yeah I know depreciated but it works) and an extra tag to get, in my opinion, a better flow to the price block.

Now looks like this:

The tag was inserted on line 298 after $final_display_price = ' and again on line 305 after $final_display_price = '

I also added a on line 298 before the ' and a at the end of line 298 before the ';

I did this again on line 305.

Those changes just make the whole block look a lot cleaner in my opinion.

These changes also carry over to the product listing as well since it was done in the functions code rather than the layout template.

Anyhoo, I hope all this and the above posted rambling works out.

i just installed msrp and now im getting this when i go into the admin console. The msrp is working on the front end though. Any ideas?

Sure, you need to wrap the whole block in a <div> and give it an ID, then each part that you want separate control over in their own <div> with unique IDs(right before the tags would be a good place). Then you can float one right and one left within the wrapper. You can set the width of the container <div> that everything is wrapped in to whatever you want to fit your template layout, either a fixed width in pixels or a percentage of the main page container's width.

I'm new on zen-cart, I have some problem on it
I have successfully install this moduke already, at my admin pages it did appear
Tax Class: --none--Taxable Goods
Products Price (Net):
Products MSRP:
Products Price (Gross )
but when i enter the price there at the site it only show the products MSRP price, my site is www.mumnbaby.com
is that anybody can help me on it?
actually previously i did use dual pricing but now i wish to remove it and use this MSRP module.

I'm also looking at moving the "You Save" line below the "MSRP Price" and "Our Price" so that it's in a more logical order. I need to get some rest right now though.

I am looking to remove the "You save" line completely. I inserted the code above into includes/functions/functions_prices.php on line 294. But makes my site go blank. Am I changing the correct file?

This is a great module! I finally was able to figure out how to remove 'You save" from the products page with the help of other posts.

Now it looks like this:
Retail Price: $39.95
Our Price: $33.95

Don't don't know where in includes/functions/functions_prices.php and how to change code for specials.

Specials Look like this:
Retail Price: $14.99
Our Price: $14.79 $14.59
Save: 3% off

How do I remove -
Save: 3% off

I would like specials to look like:
Retail Price: $14.99
Our Price: $14.79
Limited time Sale Price: $14.59

I don't understand Step 1 of the mod for MSRP. What exactly do we put in the SQL query under admin? I put in what is indicated in step one and I get errors.

This is what I get -

1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'tableprefix_products ADD products_msrp DECIMAL( 15, 4 ) NOT NULL AFTER products' at line 1
in:
[ALTER TABLE zen_ tableprefix_products ADD products_msrp DECIMAL( 15, 4 ) NOT NULL AFTER products_price ;]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

What is the correct verbiage that I am supposed to use to get this part to work?
