Hi Rod,
The ISP just informed me (which I should have remembered) that they need to know the IP address and the port that should be used. You wouldn't happen to have that info, would you?

Having trouble with auspost module today.
Anyone else experiencing Australia Post server connectivity issues?
I have set up a flat rate for the time being to allow customers to checkout.

Yep me too. Just checked the sites and the oz post is down giving error. Lets hope is only a small hiccup and it will be back soon.
Oh *phew* I've been chasing the (Unknown error (no methods)) and having quite a time of it. I thought somehow I'd managed to break the module while I slept!
Used RodG's
http://drc.edeliver.com.au/ratecalc....100&Quantity=1
from earlier in the thread to do a site check, and received
Code:Provider error '80004005'
Unspecified error
/ratecalc2.asp, line 173
Everything is back to normal so it must have been something on the post server. Anyway I am glad it is working again.

*wonders how hard it would be to code up something that turns on the flat rate module automatically if the Auspost module is returning an error.
I doubt it would be something that gets used that often, but that one day it does get used it would save some stress. :D
Typo on my behalf, I do mean ozpost.
Just had it crop up again very briefly, but long enough to confuse a customer. :(
The ozpost module, when it doesn't recieve an answer from Australia Posts' site, gives Shipping Method "Australia Post ( Unknown error (no methods))" and the Rate "$0.00 AUD" (The same as during the Estimate Postage step, before a post code is entered.)
I've turned on the Flat Rate module that came with Zen Cart to work around when the ozpost module receives no response from the Australia Post website, but I'd prefer a Flat Rate that turned on only if an error or null response was received.
You'd mentioned in your post of the 24th that flat rate is sort of incorporated in ozpost, but I have been unable to locate it.
I think I caught everything I meant to, thanks for your response. :)
Please ensure that you are using the latest module. You should NOT be seeing this error message with a value of $0.00
This means that you haven't got a fully functional installation. Specifically, the file tpl_module_shipping_estimator.php has been uploded to the wrong place.
This functionality wasn't added until the second update. You need to update your installation.
Cheers
Rod
Just started getting emails from customers receiving this message;
ERROR:Unable to obtain a valid quote from the Australia Post Server.
Please try again later, or contact the store owner if problems persist.
Store has been working fine up until this weekend, don't believe I have changed anything on it.
site is http://mrspotlights.com
Any ideas?. Had a quick read but am new to this so got a bit confused.:dontgetit
Zen Cart 1.3.8a Database Patch Level: 1.3.8
RodG, that all worked a charm. I did in fact have a file in the wrong spot, how embarrassing! I'd checked and rechecked and has a second pair of eyes check. >.<
Perfect weekend to check it too, with the Australia Post servers having kittens. :D
Just checked on my server and it works fine. You can see it here http://www.ozsilver.com
Disregard my post, had someone look at it and they have it fixed. I dont know what it was but at least it is working now. Thanks
is anyone having trouble with the AUST Post server getting quotes this morning?
this is the message I get
ERROR:Unable to obtain a valid quote from the Australia Post Server.
You may still checkout using this method and we will contact you with postage costs as soon as possible.
forget it I'll install the new OZ post module. Other site are working so I'll install the new OZpost module. i just found it
Yes I have the same problem as well. I have had a quick read of the posts and will have to get someone to install the new ozpost for me (I have no idea how to do it) but can we still use the old Austpost one and is there a reason why it's not calculating postage.
Anna
Dear RodG,
Yes, I did the upgrade from austpost to ozpost! Perfect!
Now it's working very well.
thank you very much!
Have a great weekend! :bigups:
Hi there!
I have been installing this Mod this morning and all seemed to be going fine but I am getting an error message when trying to check out a product...
Unexpected error (no valid methods). Using AP Flat Rate.
I cant work out why it thinks I don't have a valid Method. I have Registered or Express Post options both in Aus or International?
I dont charge any Handling fees.. could that be the issue?
Thanks in advance,
Shell
The module is called 'ozpost'.
The text you see in relation to this module (Ozzy Post, OzPost, Australia Post, etc) is user defined via the /language/modules/shipping/ozpost.php file.
When I'm working with multiple versions of the module I've been altering this text to give myself a visual cue as to what version I'm using at any given time.
These 'cues' find their way into the distribution files.
Cheers

That seems to be one heck of a complicated way of selling offshore. Why do they have to convert the currency online why not just let the currency be converted from $A to STG within the credit card and Paypal conversion. They can see the whole transaction at the end so they will be able to make the choice whether they sign in and buy or if they are logged on, carry on with the transaction
Seems like we are reinventing the wheel?
Just my thoughts
Thank you for your idea and I agree.
I think because Zencart has the feature, customer probably wanted to see the amounts in UK pound then carried on to the checkout. I think I will disable the currency feature. Problem still remains in regards to postage and still need a fix for that.
