You have something wrong with a file somewhere. You changed a file incorrectly somehow. Your error log may help pinpoint it, but my suggestion is to start replacing files that you have changed.Quote:

If you have access to your sites cpanel or some kind of online manager (ask your host), you can look at the error log and see if it helps to point you in the right direction.Quote:

So far you have been incredibly helpful and I have but 1 more question.
My test site is www.durinstower.com/shop as you can see i enjoy your template. The trouble is this up by the logo there are 2 little white parts to the left and right of my logo I need to get rid of those and would lik the logo to go where the black and white parts meet.
I know that I can change the background to black behind the logo but I would prefer if the logo fit instead of having any seperation.

I'm using your template with ZC 1.3.8a. Although I have modified the template considerably, I chose it because it already included some of the mods I wanted to incorporate.
I'm using split login. I have State = true
State - Always display as pulldown? = true
When set to true, there is an extra required field below the State pull down.
- what is this for as it has no label
- if not needed, how do I remove/hide it?

I have a couple of questions. First when you click on the 'login' or 'my account' tabs the page gets all thrown out of whack. I am sure I have done something wrong within a file to cause this but I have no clue how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also how can I make my EZ Page links white? in regards to the header spacing, look for #logoWrapper in the stylesheet and change from

as to the narrowness of the links, the header and following dive are tool close.
the links are within a div#navEZPagesTop which is nested inside the logoWrapper. it will simplify things a great deal if you can move navEZPagesTop inside div.contentWrap at the top level. this way you will preserve your design and allow the extra space navEZPagesTop needs for the links.
Before you begin, be sure to backup the two pages referenced below in case the result is not what you want.
In include/template/your-template/common/tpl_header.php, find the beginning of the ezPage block around line 80
and cut everything from
<!--bof-header ezpage links-->
to and including
<!--eof-header ezpage links-->
Now open include/template/your-template/common/tpl_main_page.php and pastd your code inside the contentWrap div, about line 78 before this code

I like this template. Is it possible to change the white space right behind the logo to a different color or use an additional background just for that space?

I know I am probably the culprit here, I changed the left and right side column width in the admin to 165 and messed with the width in the stylesheet.css and now and only with IE6 the contents of the left column drops down to below the center box content.

Sure, in the stylesheet.css again. You can adjust the size alloted for the image. You will have to edit your logo graphic and make it the minimum size of the page.Quote:

Thanks for creating Cherry Zen - its a really nice template. It's working nicely on 1.3.8 apart from the issue that I can't see a number of sideboxes that should be there according to layout boxes controller.
I however only get the categories sidebox and the shipping cart sidebox when there's product in the cart. The ones I really need is the languages and information sideboxes. I do get these sideboxes in other themes.

This one really should be easy. I've searched this thread as much as I can and I think I'm doing it correctly but I must be missing something simple. I've inherited supporting this webstore and am still working my way through some modifications the owner is looking for.
Right now I'm merely trying to replace the existing
/public_html/includes/templates/cherry_zen/images/logo.jpg with a modified logo.jpg. Currently when I look at the site www.reneeshouseofquilting.net the original store logo.jpg shows up just fine. I noticed that the default is actually logo.gif, I'm assuming that the original tech must have modified the header.php to allow *.jpg's. When I rename the existing (and working) logo.jpg on the server to oldlogo.jpg and drop in the new logo.jpg I get a broken link upon refreshing the page. The two files are exactly the same size in pixels/inches, resolution, size, etc.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Why don't you view the source of the section you want to replicate, copy that source, paste it in the ezpage, then change the images and links?Quote:

The site changes size, depending on the width of the browser window. Logo's can't do that. So my suggestion is to make the background behind the logo (#logoWrapper) a color that is in the logo, so it "seems" to go all the way across.Quote:

I followed the instructions for making my site as narrow as 800px and it doesn't seem to have kicked in? (I also only want to use left sideboxes globally and followed the instructions for that as well.) I have two issues: the site is still wide... and I have an "other products" link that is getting pushed out to the side on this page.

Is there an easy way to change it so that if the visitor is not logged in, My Account only shows the log in box, not the create account fields as well? (I'm using the split login page).
I'd like this effect:
When the visitor checks out, he sees the normal functionality: the page shows both a login box (for returning customers) and create account fields (for new customers).
But if the visitor clicks on My Account:
If he is logged in, he sees his account information
If he is not logged in, he sees only a login box only (no create account fields).
Is this easy to do?

I want to add a banner in the Sales Text. I inserted 'templatebanner.gif' in the Sales Text area. Is that correct. When I uploaded the file all I saw was the text templatebanner.gif instead of the actual image. Can you please explain what I'm doing wrong.

I followed your instructions to the letter in the READ ME OR ELSE file on how to adapt Chery Zen to a two column format but seem to have lost the ability to change the color of my content page as it now is the same color as the background. I removed the right column and when I put it back the color I had chosen for the center column returned but then disappeared when the column was taken out.

Could someone explain to me what i could have done wrong with the footer.. i had a customer purchase one of my predesigned templates and i have had a go at customizing it to the cherry zen template but the footer is not showing up..
one other thing is the i am having trouble getting the layout boxes to show up..
I have read tutorials etc but i am still at a loss as to what is happening with the footer and boxes..

It works perfectly in Firefox on two of my PCs (both 1024x768 resolution) . In IE6 the navigation bar is about 20px taller...In IE7, the background behind the box titles, behind the text Categories and Information, the background doesn't go all the way across the box, and the credit card image in the upper right is cut off.
Mac - On Firefox and Safari on my mac (1024x768 resolution) the categories box displays below the images. This is a major issue! I've tried narrowing everything a bit to make it all fit, but no luck.
Any comments on the overall appearance/layout are welcome too.
I really appreciate the kind help this community provides, and I thank everyone in advance for their help.

I fixed the credit card logos being cut off by adding padding to the <div> tag that I put them in. In Firefox they are a little further left than they are in Explorer and Google Chrome, but there's room between there and the logo.
Still working on the categories box being at the bottom on all Mac browsers. I tossed up a temporary maintenance message, but you can browse to index.php and Zen Cart comes up.Quote:

Im trying to finalize the design on a shop , thought I just about had it but Safari and chrome are foxing my attempts to sort it out.
I have just 3 Top level categories and these are set to appear on the Top Nav Cat Bar , and looks ok ish in IE and FF but in chrome and safari the first category ( industrial ) appears at the top of the page out of sync with the whole site.
Now its pretty heavily modded version of the cherry zen but if anyone has a clue why its not right in some browsers I would welcome the help. the site is not ready for spidering yet so i have seperated the URL :

I think we are suffering from a related or maybe even the same problem. I really don't know where to start, I might try throwing a <br> after my nav bar to see if that sends the rest of the store back where it belongs.

I would use IH2 (image handler 2), it does the resizing for you automatically, and you only have to upload one image.Quote:

nope your site is fine , was just after a hint about what I may have done wrong to cause the first cat in the nav cat tab bar to not appear inthe correct place. I have modded the site a bit so not suggesting yuor template at fault , but I am sure you know the layout of the code better than most and could hazzard a guess to where to start looking or to why it would do something like that.

I'm having trouble with this template and the Categories Tabs.
Now that there are 9 categories the tabs are warping to a second line.
In IE 6+7 I'm loosing the red background on the second row that wraps, in FF everything is fine.

I installed the Cherry Zen template, but the tpl_search_header.php option does not show up in the "Layout Boxes Controller" option.
I copied the "/includes/" folder to my server and selected the Cherry Zen template, but don't get that option. Do I have to move the file somewhere else?

Look how ugly my quantity discounts table looks. How can I fix this. I have tried to edit this from configuration->Layout Settings but have had not sucess. It changes them around a bit but never to the number I specify them to have in each row.
