Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)
Many people are using this module without any problem.
It's your attitude that makes me feel absolutely no reason to lend any help. Before you blame it on anyone, why dont you ask yourself why I refuse to help you? I even helped many other people fix their sites problems at absolutely no cost, because they were nice to me. You were not, period.
I wouldn't serve customers like you even if I get paid for it.

I am hoping it can be fixed and is still in that state and I have yet to hear back yet.
You shouldn't be contributing if you don't know what you're doing, it can cause alot of issues for others needlessly.
You say you guarantee nothing. Guarantee you won't contribute to something that is harmful to others hard work. Like I said there should be some type of configuration control to prevent something like this for everyone's sake.
For a newbie your post are somewhat on the offensive side. Keep in mind that some of us are actually using this mod successfully and enjoying the efficiency it provides over previous versions of cross sell mods.
I have been on this forum now for more than 4 years and I can say majority of the time, things like this are mostly user error. Trust me, if the experience you're having is global to everyone using this mod you would have seen a lot more post about these issues.
Yellow1912 actually happens to be one of the contributors on this forum that take great pride in their mods and try to release updates as new issues are discovered. Saying nothing is guaranteed is basically a CYA it doesn't mean any developer is releasing harmful mods to intentionally destroy your site.
If you're interested in getting FREE help on this forum, you will have to change your tone a little bit. I promise you, it will get you farther than your current approach.

@BettyC
I totally agree with yellow1912 and BlessIsaacola.
And, to help you for next time, backup - backup - backup, both your files and your database before making changes. If anything goes wrong, you can restore back to the old ones.
And, get a test site going in a different directory with a different database. Then you can test as much as you like without effecting your live shop.
Common sense really. And please be courteous. When you start paying for support or contributions you can then complain loudly.

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)
This is really cool mod, which I wasn't aware of until I came to the message boards looking for help! This will save a ton of time, I'll have to try it someday.
But, for now, I hope you don't mind if I ask a question here about the original cross sell mod that this uses. The old thread seems to be dead for this.
I think I found a pretty important bug in the cross-sell mod. Well, actually, this is really a problem with Zen Cart, but it affects the cross-sell mod. I wanted to see if everyone was having the same problem or if this was just my install.
When I click on a cross-linked product or one of the "Customers who bought this also purchased...." the link goes to the product, but does not include the "cPath" part of the link. This causes a link to the main category at the top of the page that actually takes you to the home page. Is this the behavior everyone is seeing, or is something messed up on my site?
Thanks!

I believe this is the behavior of the original xsell, which this mod is currently using as well. Thanks for pointing this out, I will have it fixed in the next release this June (I plan to release many updates of various mods this coming June)
Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)
OK. It is not just me. :) Note that Zen Cart does this too--It's not just cross sell. Try the products under "Customers who bought this also purchased...." It does the same thing. :( It seems like Zen Cart should have a way to figure this out even if the CPath variable is not transfered... I'll report the bug to Zen Cart.
Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)
Pretty easy to fix. I posted a fix for this problem in the bug report section. Here is the link if anyone is interested:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...602#post543602
This will fix the problem for Zen Cart in general, so no changes to cross sell should be necessary.
Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)
Hello,
Is "alpha 2 rev 65" the latest version?
Thx
Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)
Probably, but the latest version can always be found at svn:

Re: Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)
Hi there, i have a problem with the 'clean up cross sell' function. Everything else works perfect.
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'SELECT products_id FROM products WHERE 1=1)' at line 1
in:
[DELETE FROM products_xsell WHERE products_id NOT IN (SELECT products_id FROM products WHERE 1=1)]
