Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
I have just uploaded by .xml file thru this wonderful mod - I have noticed that I have 860 products and only 816 were on my feed.
anyone have any ideas why?
I do know that some of the items are out of stock - could it be that they are not included because they are out of stock?

TY any comments would be appriciated! TIA

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
We are a young internet startup and are looking for someone with whom we can test a Zen Google Base App. You should have a live store. What we do is, integrating your Shop on your Facebook fanpage. We are currently in beta stage. Let me know if you are interested :-).

If you have products out of stock it will not show on the.xml feed unless you set it to true in admin/configurations google_base_feeder_configuration Include Zero Quantity set it to true if you want to include them.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Hello all! I've search all over but can't figure this out...
I am at this point in the install:
6. Register your bulk upload .xml file using the same name in your Google Merchant Center Configuration at base.google.com
7. Go to Admin->Tools>Google Merchant Center Feeder and follow instructions to create, view, and upload feed file.
My questions are:
#6 - Bulk upload .xml file - where do I get this?
#7 - When I look at Admin -> Tools I don't see Google Merchant Center Feeder.
Do I need to reinstall? If so, what's the best way to do that? I have backups of my site if I need to delete and reinstall. Thanks.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Where is the feed path defined? I have seen the line in the Admin-> Configuration ->Google Base Config section. Mine says feed/google/.
The error I keep getting says that the feed directory doesn't exist, but in reality it is trying to find the feed in another directory altogether (another test ZC install)!
Installing on a fresh 1.3.9 upgrade on my test server. Never had google base installed before that I can remember, but I do have Easy Populate installed.
Thanks,
Jessica

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
public_html/feed/google. have you setup the settings correctly in admin/configuration/google base? you need to enter a name for the program to use for the database file. entering domain should do the trick and will result in a file name of domain_products.xml
also make sure that you have copied the googlefroogle.php to public html. Have you changed the name of your admin folder? if so this may also be the cause of your issue.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
solved my problem it wasnt google after all (too a point) 7 hours after starting install im finally done and about to rest, all i had to do was rerun the install.sql as the first time i had run it with a file missing, then turns out it had reset loads of options in configuration, i entered ftp details changed price from usd to gbp and set location of website as well as post from location and that did the trick. 230 out of 234 items is close enough for me for the night at least:D

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
This is what shows up now when I try to create a google feed:
====================================
Google Base Feeder v started 2011/01/21 15:01:07
Feed file - C:/xampplite/htdocs/ZC139/feed/google/BFQS_products.xml
Processing: Feed - Yes, Upload - No
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Google Base File Complete In 10.047028 Seconds 1543 Records
====================================
See the part where it says ZC139? That is a different Zencart install! My current install is zc139_upgrade. Is there some kind of database setting for this?
For kicks, I went and put a feed/google folder there, and now I don't get the error message. In fact, it is nicely generating an XML file there. But why? Why will it jump into a completely different directory?
I'm confused!:huh:
Sorry...totally new to this. I'm stuck on the step that says
"Register your bulk upload .xml file using the same name in your Google Base Configuration at base.google.com"
I have no idea how to do this...and I already set up my FTP in Google Merchant Center...
using Zen Cart 1.3.9h
any help is greatly appreciated!
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Running Zen version 1.3.9h
Recent upgrade from 1.3.7
Did a complete fresh install of Google Base Feeder version 1.8.3
Configuration has been done. And when I click on Google Base Feeder in tools I get to the correct screen. My problme is I get the following error when I click on the Confirm button
Server error cannot find
http://domain.comadmin/googlefroogle...fset=&x=56&y=7
I can pretty much figure the problem is there is no slash between domain.com and admin and should be reading it as domain.com/admin/googlefroogle.php?feed=fy_un_tp&limit=&offset=&x=56&y=7
I have looked all over and cannot find where the google base tool is getting this from so I can correct it.
Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.
you have to create a feed file in your google base account for googlefroogle to upload it to google, otherwise it just says....dont exist so i cant be uploaded....
log into your account, click data feeds, click new data feed, make sure you type the name of the data feed EXACTLY as it is produced from ZC...
then you can either manually upload the file(by downloading it from ftp first) or click the upload products data in ZC googlefroogle...
If it's a vanilla install, it'll be under the website root/feed/google/filename.xml
the filename will be the one that you have set in the Admin options.
Are any of the descriptions blank?!? If so, it doesn't put it in the xml file. That could be one cause... I wondered the same thing and took the description out of a product and recreated the xml. Sure enough - it was no longer listed. Put it back, and *poof* - back in the feed file. :D
As far as Google Checkout/Paypal ... that's funny. I've put Paypal in all different spots on the 'accept' line in the Admin, and it's there in the xml file... but it seems that the Google strips it off! :shocking: I suppose it's so that you use their checkout versus another, and since you ARE on the feed... I suppose they can do that.
The second line in the Admin - Config, below which payment options, is where you can put Google Checkout.
Hope that helps.
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
I screwed up my feed. I accidentally reinstalled the sql after I had already installed it. It caused the fields to be listed in a different order than before. At first, I thought no big deal, but now I keep getting unrecognized attribute errors from Google. I have tried the uninstall sql and reinstalled again but the fields are still out of order and I still get the errors from Google.
I know the fields are out of order because I have another store to compare it to. Also the other store has the identical configuration, and works fine.
Any ideas on how to clear this up. If I could just do a complete uninstall and reinstall, that would be great.
-
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
I have a site with 59k+ products on it yet google base is only sending 6k products to google. Any idea how to correct this as I'm potentially loosing out on ALOT of sales!
I have solved my problem.
I was way off with my question.
For others to completely uninstall see
http://numinix.com/forum/viewtopic.p...ninstall#p5257
My problem with the data feed field errors was because I was using the google base feed web site which apparently has been replaced by your google merchant account site. Once I moved over, my feeds were acceptable.
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Running:
ZenCart 1.3.9h
Upgraded to Google Base Feeder 1.8.2
Mod Numinix Product Fields 1.1.0
UPC/ISBN Mod Applied
Dimensions Mod Applied
Got a message from Google Base that my UPC was missing. I checked to see that they were there by
going to Admin>Catalog>Categories/Products and view a couple listings and the UPC number is there. I then
checked Google Merchant Center Feeder Configuration and checked to make sure that UPC/ISBN was
set to true and it was. I then ran Google Base Feeder and produced a feed file. That went exactly as normal.
I then checked the feed.xml file it created and sure enough no UPC field is there. Weight is showing, MPN is showing,
condition is showing, but no UPC field
I have seen in the forum that Numinix UPC/ISBN mod is not needed. Would removing that fix the problem?
Any advise on a fix for this much appreciated.
Could not find a place to edit my post above. I was able to get things back to normal by restoring my database from a backup done 48 hours ago. What I would like to do is upgrade the product fields. After looking at the back up I now know I was running version 1.0.0 and not 1.1.0 What is the best way to upgrade them? I think a newer version will play better with Zen 1.3.9h and Google Base Feeder 1.8.2
Currently Running:
ZenCart 1.3.9h
Google Base Feeder 1.8.2
Numinix Product Fields 1.0.0
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Using Google Base Feeder 1.8.2
Zen 1.3.9h
When producing a google base feed file. If I set the Include Quantity Zero to true. I get an output file with this error
XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </title>.
Location: file:///C:/Store/mystore_products.xml
Line Number 262, Column 34:<g: product_type><![CDATA[DVD]]> /g: product_type>
---------------------------------^
Google picked up on it too and advised me of the error.
Now if I turn Include Quantity Zero to false the file is fine and google processes it fine.
Why does this happen and how can I fix it?
I checked out the HELP section in Google Merchant, and i think i've noticed the problem with this. I was uploading manually an XML file of approx 190mb, and they only accept files of 20mb max for this method. So hopefully by using FTP it will fix the problem of not seeing all my products.
Here's what Google say about Uploads...
When uploading your data feed to Google Merchant Center you have three options.
- Direct upload through the Google Merchant Center Data feeds page (Files under 20 MB in size)
- File Transfer Protocol (FTP) (Files larger than 20 MB must upload using FTP)
- Automatic upload via scheduling (Files under 15 MB in size)
I do not want customers to think I am pulling a fast one.
Is there a way to have each item's respective condition properly get uploaded?
Any suggestions, please?
I have the exact same problem. Has a solution ever been found?
Not to hard to do, I've set it up on my site due to running auctions. Been some time back so I'll have to pick out the code changes to explain it better, but basically...
Add a field to your product table for 'condition'.
Add some code to the product pages in admin to collect the info and store it.
Change the code in base to get the info from the product table instead of the default 'NEW'..
What's nice, once you go through this process you can use it in your product display too.
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
We had been using the feed for a long while, then our host, godaddy, decided it was time to move us to a new server.
We had a number of issues when they did that, specificly they didn't set our images folder to the proper permission so we had no photos being pulled from storeroot/images. ANNOYING.
At the same time we lost the access to photos, our google base feed got disaproved.
I got an email from google letting me know that we were disproved.
Here's the note from email:
Issues:
1. Non-working URLs
-----------------
1. Non-working URLs: It seems that the URLs in your data feed weren't working correctly when we initially viewed them. This might occur due to various reasons. For example, your server was being updated or rebooted when our system was processing your feed. To ensure that users are able to view your items, please verify that your URLs are functional. If your URLs are now functioning, please resubmit your data feed.
Now, I have tried re-submitting, and it gets disaproved. I have also downloaded the feed xml file, and it appears that the links all work.
What am I missing?
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
My store is a toy store and all my catagories are the toy's brand name, like Power Rangers. When my feed is generated the product type is
Code:
<g:product_type><![CDATA[Power Rangers]]></g:product_type>
I have full path on, but it does me no good because Power Rangers is the top catagory. I could make a Toy>Action Figure catagories and have my existing catagories in them, but since I am a toy store why have the user take extra steps to see the items.
Google has a Product Type Attribute for toy figures:
Toys & Games > Toys > Dolls, Playsets & Toy Figures > Action Figures
and another for games and toy cars and so on.
So I ask-
Since Zen Cart has Product Types, if I set up my catagories by Product types, can my feed use that in addition to the catagory it now uses?
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
I have been working on installing the google base feeder all night. I have read most of the support thread. I had first installed the patches, then the install sql. I missed one file when initially installing and the page for the admin> Tools> google base feeder was not found when I clicked on it in admin. I reuploaded. Now I have that page, but there is only one option. It says feed type: and sql query limit and when I click confirm it opens a little window with a blank white page. I am really new to zen cart and newer to base feeds. If someone could help me trouble shoot? I would love to get this working before I add too many products so I know how to use it. I have my google base feed account, set up the pass word and ftp and the only settings in the config google base feed menu are the password and user name for the ftp. What am I missing? How exactly do you create...find the feed. I know how to manually upload one... I don't know how to create one and I am not sure if I have evyrything installed right since there doesn't seem to be an option to actually create and name your feed.
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Zen 1.39h
Whenever I use the feed, it doesnt delete my products in a couple of categories but it prevents the public from seeing most of the products in a couple of categories and the base feed comes back saying about 100 less than whats in my cart were added.
I simply had to move the category to another category and then back and all the products were once again publicly visible. This happens to be the newest categories created after base feed was installed.
Do I need to reinstall feed or is there a bug that I can fix?
Thanks
I installed the Google Base Feeder. I could generate the product xml but the currency is in USD and my shop's default is actually GBP. I know I could change it under Admin/Configuration/. But I could not find anything about Google Base feeder under the configuration manual. There is only one under Tools.
I searched the forum and I know someone in page 130,131 had the same problem but I have no idea how he solved the problems.
I installed the files twice and I am now 100% sure there is no missing files or something like that. Could it be Database problem and how do I solve it?
Please help!
sql queries timeout is "connection_timeout=20"
current values set for max_execution_time and max_input_time is no limit.
session.gc_maxlifetime => 1440 => 1440
One more question, Is your script timing out or does it create some products?
Troubleshooting:
================
Go to admin/configurations/google_base/ and cut on the debug and see what that tells you. Check the cache file where zen cart is installed for debug error logs and see what they says.
If your script is timing out, in the root of your server (not store root), create/open a file called php.ini and add the following lines:
Quote:
max_execution_time = 300
max_input_time = 90
memory_limit = 128M
If it is not creating all your products try this.
We will get to the bottom of it some how.
it does create some products into the file, but this can vary depending when the script stops..can be 52 or it can be 10k
If it still is not working right make a php.ini file and put it in your root of your server with the info I provided for you. That should take care of the problem Maximum execution time timing out.
The failed description below 15 chars means that it will not create that links for anything under the 15 chars minimum. Has to be more or it will not create it.
the 15 chars thing is not a problem, change the googlefroogle.php min chars down to 10 instead of 15....
Make sure in /web-site-root/includes/.htacess that line 26 has the xsl|XSL included. If not
on line 26 you will find:
<FilesMatch ".*\.(js|JS|css|CSS|jpg|JPG|gif|GIF|png|PNG|swf|SWF)$">
Change the line to:
<FilesMatch ".*\.(js|JS|css|CSS|jpg|JPG|gif|GIF|png|PNG|swf|SWF|xsl|XSL)$">
Check your admin and see if gzip compression is turn on if it is turn it off and see if that has any effect.
Check for extra white spaces. Look through them and Replace the files ending
?>
I have a script that will do it for you if you are interested. The link is here.
Download it and run it to check for extra white spaces. Down load it and extract it, and up-load it to your server root, run the script like this. http://www your.com/found_extra_space.php to check for white spaces of all you file on your site.
/includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_columnar_display.php Yes
/includes/templates/template_default/common/html_header.php Yes
Also make sure you configure the out put feed file correctly in configuration/Google_Base_Feeder_Configuration Output File Name.
Make sure CHMOD the feed folder to 777.
The most resent version is 1.8.3
I would update to the latest version and see if that correct the problem you are having. Also try making the Output File Name a longer name and see what happens. Try changing the Product Type from Top to FULL
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Hope this is ok to post here. I have been using this add-on for a while, and it created the feed ok.
I have just moved hosting company and I am having difficulty getting it to create the product feed. I am using version 1.7.4 and Zen Cart 1.3.8a.
I have uninstalled using the SQL from the original downloads and re-installed. My feed directory is set to 777. Everything looks as it should but when I click to Create Product Feed, nothing happens at all and the feed file is not created. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Check to make sure in /web-site-root/includes/.htacess that line 26 has the xsl|XSL included. Some hosting company works without the change. Zen cart version 1.3.9 has already made the change. The change is not made in 1.3.8a unless you have already made it. If not find
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Hi, thanks for the help. I looked at my /includes/.htaccess and it doesnt have that line at all. the only lines in it are
<Files *.php>
Order Deny,Allow
Deny from all
</Files>
I put the code you mentioned directly below this but it didnt solve my problem, in fact it blocked a lot of images on the main site.
Will the latest version work with 1.3.8a? I dont think I would be able to upgrade to 1.3.9h.
Thanks
changed all that you said...
The restrictions imposed on providers to achieve PCI compliance make it just about impossible to offer a PCI compliant shared hosting environment. Dedicated servers would be the only way to ensure 100% PCI Compliance and even then would only apply if the whole hosting company itself was PCI Compliant.
You never did Post the information from the log file that would have been generated as a result of the error in you cache folder.
You probably have too many products. Exclude some categories and try again, that usually fixes the timeout issue
I have around 38,000 products. One cat has around 60 subcats, with around 16,000 prods. I excluded that category and I don't have timeout issues anymore.
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
I have this installed, but noticed it gives a wrong url for the products. I have the cpath turned on, but instead of the url including cpath=1_7 is puts cpath=1,7. I could just turn off cpath, but would like to include it. I'm concerned this error may be messing up my Google rankings.
I appreciate any help!
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Hi, I tried searching for an answer to this but found nothing.
I'm just preparing to upgrade from Zen Cart v1.3.7 to the latest v1.3.9h, and I currently have Google Froogle v1.6.7 installed.
Do I need to uninstall my current version of Google Froogle before I upgrade Zen Cart and if so, how?
However, in any case, It would be really nice to hear from developer/maintainer as to whether these changes will require any upgrades - last thing that many of us zenners need is our google product feeds disappearing from google!
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Hi all,
My Zen Cart version is v1.3.9h
and Google Base Feeder version is 1.8.3
After installation, I can see Google Base Feeder Configuration. According to installation instruction, step 7 says:
7.Go to Admin->Tools>Google Base Feeder and follow instructions to create, view, and upload feed file.
However, Google Base Feeder is nowhere to be found under Admin->Tools
Here's a screenshot of the dropdown menu
If it is not listed there then you installed it wrong. Go back and check your folder structure. If you have renamed your admin folder make sure the name matches. Also check and make sure all files and folders uploaded right.
Thanks countrycharm. That fixed it. It turns out that the default directory for zen cart admin is zc_admin and Google Base Feeder package named the directory admin.
Moving the content of admin folder into zc_admin folder fixed the problems.
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
Hi there,
I have an image problem with my google feed. For most of the products on my site, there are more than two pictures. But in Google base, only products with ONE picture can be shown the picture correctly. Does anyone know what's going on?
In the XML file, e.g a product with two pictures, I can see :
<g:image_link>http://www.mydomian.co.uk/images/s/201103/b/13007493141.jpg,s/201103/b/13007493150.jpg</g:image_link>
It's one link and a half link. But Google seems ignored both the images.
How can I set to only output one image in the XML file?
Thank you very much!
To create a feed go to admin/tools/google base feeder to create the xml. You need to go to Google Merchant Center to create and account to upload the file.
Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread
I just installed this addon, and I see the google feeder in the configuration fine, and I also see it under tools. The problem I am having is, when I go to google base feeder under tools, no matter what I put in the limit and offset fields, I always end up getting a popup window with a 404 not found.
Can someone tell me what it is that I am doing wrong?
Did you upload the main file found in the root of the package (googlefroogle.php)?
Thanks, I thought I did but I accidentally uploaded it to a different directory. It works now.
I do have another question though... I have around 280 products in my shop right now, but it's saying it's uploaded 99 to google. Is it randomly picking 99, or is it because the other products don't qualify to be submitted for some reason?
Also, how long does it take the products to show up in the google products results? Because I've looked and they do not show up, so I don't know if something went wrong or what the situation is.
Update:
I managed to get it to display FREE SHIPPING now.
I think this feeder only has a setting to use Google Base Shipping Settings, and it ignores item listed under Always Free Shipping Category.
I modified googlefroogle.php query to include this field, then set the shipping tag to 0 works. Code below
if ($products->fields['product_is_always_free_shipping'] == 1)
{
I do have another question though... I have around 280 products in my shop right now, but it's saying it's uploaded 99 to google. Is it randomly picking 99, or is it because the other products don't qualify to be submitted for some reason?
Also, how long does it take the products to show up in the google products results? Because I've looked and they do not show up, so I don't know if something went wrong or what the situation is.
What version of Google Base Feeder are you using?
Is your script timing out before it finishes creating all your products, or is it creating them and Google is not excepting them? If so cut the Debug on in admin/configurations/google_base_feeder_configuration and check for errors of your feed. I leave the debug on all the time. For some reason it will create the feed better when left on.
I think this feeder only has a setting to use Google Base Shipping Settings, and it ignores item listed under Always Free Shipping Category.
I modified googlefroogle.php query to include this field, then set the shipping tag to 0 works. Code below
if ($products->fields['product_is_always_free_shipping'] == 1)
{
$content["shipping"] = '<g:shipping>';
$content["shipping"] .= ' <g: price>' . '0' . '</g: price>';
$content["shipping"] .= '</g:shipping>';
}
Thanks for the update.:smile:
