Right now GCO is letting people select free shipping even if they haven't qualified for it, and it's not automatically selecting free shipping for those that do.
Something is not being calculated here and sent to GC. Any ideas?
here is what I did to stop that:
Get rid of GCO calculating shipping, ensure it set to zen cart totals
Disable -- Free Shipping Options
Enable --FREE SHIPPING!
Any item that is free shipping must be selected by the item in the catalog.
I figured this out after a fee people got away with it, now it is correctly working, I also have USPS and UPS enabled in shipping module
Good luck

Ok, I've configured my .htaccess file, but it's still redirecting to the TIME OUT page upon order completion.
Also, there are no orders in the admin section.
Any ideas ?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Hello,
I've configured zen cart with the google checkout module. Everything seems to be working properly, i can see the orders on the zen cart admin interface, the product stock decreases when purchased, etc.
However, once someone completes a purchase through google checkout he is not redirected back to my site, instead he is left in the google screen.
Any ideas what can be wrong?
Thanks.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Hi All
I installed GC, and I need shipping table rate to set on weight.
And hi is don't work true.
Table rate on price or item calculated true, but on weight calculated shipping 0.
Any ideas?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I've been using the module fine for a while, appreciate all the work done. However, two orders came in and google checkout only charged $1 shipping. I can't figure out why. I can't seem to reproduce it either. In the comments log on the orders page in zen cart admin I see the line "Merchant Calculations used: False" whereas it was "True" for every other order. This has never happened before, just these two in the last week. I haven't touched a single setting anywhere. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Update on the no-redirect issue:
It seems i'm timing out for some reason.
I've configured the htaccess files for htaccess basic auth and have tried it without also. Neither way works. Although the callback url seems to work(inventory decreases, etc).
The google page displays "Thanks [Customer Name], here's how to access your purchase." While the address bar reads:
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Another update in case anyone is reading this.
Its only happening on items that have free shipping enabled. (Digital Delivery). If I change the delivery options it goes through in seconds and everything is fine.
I'm out of ideas, no errors on the logs, no errors on the integration console, nothing.
If anyone has any ideas feel free to jump in.
thanks.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Hey guys,
my short term solution has been to require shipping address on virtual goods and give free shipping for items weighting 0.00lbs or less.
It seems the gc module is bugged regarding digital delivery items.

This happened to us using GCO mod 1.4.1beta1 in ZC 1.3.7. We were accidentally offering $1 shipping for FedEx First Overnight! (ouch!)
The fix in this version is to edit the googlecheckout/shipping_methods.php file and comment out (or delete) the entries for the individual methods you do not wish to use in each of the shipping-module-related arrays of methods. This is specific to Google Checkout; deactivate methods you don't want available for Google Checkout, even if you are using them in ZC checkout.
Then go to the admin UI and set reasonable flat-rate defaults for any methods you are using. These are used whenever Google Checkout cannot communicate with the shipping module to get a live calculation.
The setup may vary a bit in later versions of the mod. In those versions, you may be able to do it all in the admin UI. But in 1.4.1beta1, you have to edit the shipping_methods.php.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Hello
Iam sure the answer is somewhere in this post but its too long and can't find what I want.
I Installed this mod on my site. Iam trying to get the shipping rates to be calcualted based on my zen cart setup for the shipping cost. The shipping rates are calculated using a clone of perunitweight module. Iam trying to access this page http://www.coolcarpartsonline.com/go...ing_generator/ on my site to set the value but message pop up that require username and password. I tried my google acount username and password and the ftp access but No Luck.
Can anyone tell me what Iam doing wrong. I get gttp 500 error

Re: Zen cart Confirmation email w/ Google checkout
We have the most recent version of ZenCart and the Google Checkout module set up on our site but we're having a problem with the zencart confirmation emails.
1. Google Checkout is our only payment option. We've removed the Zencart check out options both in the shopping cart and the menu along the top using these instructions: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94664
2. We are able to process transactions both in sandbox and production modes. As a guest I can add an item to the cart, go to the shopping cart, checkout using Google checkout, create an account with Google checkout, run the transactions, return to Zen Cart and print a confirmation page with the order number correctly populated.
3. Transactions are appearing in both Google Checkout and the Zen Cart Admin. Inventory is subtracting correctly.
4. A new customer account is being created based on the information entered into Google checkout.
5. Google Checkout is sending confirmation emails to both the customer and the admin.
However, zen cart is:
1. Not sending an email to the customer.
2. Not sending a confirmation email to the admin.
3. Not send an email confirming the account creation.
I can email a yahoo address from the admin console and it shows up in the email archives, so I think the email configuration is set up properly.
If I try to log in with the new account that was created based on the Google transaction, zen cart will send me the password and I can log in using it.
Transactions are going through so I think Google is communicating properly with ZenCart.
I checked and the "ZenCart should send emails: is set to true in the Google Checkout mod.
Any ideas about what my next step should be to troubleshoot this?
I've read this: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...Email_Problems
but I can get email to work I just can't get it to respond to a new order.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I have now switched hosting to TerraNetwork (Yay!) and they installed Zencart for me. I have copied my updated version over and tested it thoroughly before I transferred my domain away from fasthosts :frusty:. I have also added the Reward Points Mod and agin tested it before going live.
I have now transferred my domain to TerraNetwork (In last 24hrs) and the Google checkout MOD is causing a few issues.
If I set it to work, the whole of the right hand boxes disappear from the site and there is no Google checkout button on screen.
If I set google payment to false, the column reappears.
At first I though it was a GC problem, but it did work before the domain transferred across.
The only thing that has changed is TerraNetwork altered my Config files (Includes & Admin Includes).
Admin/Includes/Configure
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.candlewithcare.co.uk');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://stargate.terrassl.net/candlewithcare.co.uk');
define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.candlewithcare.co.uk');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://stargate.terrassl.net/candlewithcare.co.uk');
// Use secure webserver for catalog module and/or admin areas?
define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'true');
define('ENABLE_SSL_ADMIN', 'true');
Includes/configure
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.candlewithcare.co.uk');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://stargate.terrassl.net/candlewithcare.co.uk');
My question is, is this an SSL problem or do you think it is Google need repointing to the new hosting area (Ie it will sort itself out in next 48hrs?) - I have waited a couple of days and it still doesn't work so it's either an SSL problem or a GC problem.........anyone got any ideas?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I have found that if the product is virtual then the button appears.
However Anythnig involving shipping the button disappears.
One thing I have noticed is that in the Admin/payment/GC option I cannot set the Default Values for Real Time Shipping Rates. there is no box to enter any information in?
there is a message underneath saying
"No merchant calculation shipping selected"
Can anyone advise?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
We have been successfully using GC for over a year now... recently we
had to fix a nameserver issue from our host. since then when anyone
tries to checkout, even my personal account from the USA, it says:
Midwest Appliance Parts does not ship to this address via Google
Checkout
Is there some kind of allowed IP for transactions?
Any ideas? I really need to get this fixed... we use Zen Cart.
This is sooo frustrating!
thanks for anyone who responds

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Terranetworks support have just emailed me with this.
Quote:
Looks like your POST variable is missing.
Line 18 is: foreach($_POST['code'] as $codekey => $codename) {
.. and the error message indicates that no $_POST['code'] exists
You should check whatever script sends the POST variables to the Google checkout scripts to ensure it's correctly set up.
Is there anyone who could possibly help point me in the right direction with this?

Well, I was going to help you troubleshoot but I cannot create an account on your site and there is no shipping estimate option in my shopping cart. What shipping types do you offer? How come there is no create account option?

Is this the site in question: https://stargate.terrassl.net/candle...ain_page=login ?
I do not see a way for me to create an account.
Also, you will not see option to set default shipping for merchant calculation because you currently do not offer any calculated shipping (flat rate doesn't count).
Is you flat rate shipping restricted to a zone?
What do you currently have in your setting for responsehandler.php on the google side?
Have you tested things in sandbox (where you don't require SSL) I am not sure that your shared ssl is an approved ssl provider. You might want to check google's list.
SSL certificate is so cheap that there should really be no reason for an ecommerce store to still be using shared ssl.

The reason being i have other mods installed like gift wrapping, they cannot choose gift wrapping because it goes right to GC. Here is how im looking to do it.
1) that a customer puts a product in the cart and hits add to cart then clicks...
2) goto checkout ( with no GCO button that is there now)
3) Welcome, Please Sign In page has it on too i want if off here,
4) then the person from wherever in the world has to sign up to the website then gets the cart contents page up ( again i want GCO off this page) clicks goto checkout gets the shipping information page up then clicks o0nto the next page which is payment information, Now this is where i want GCO to be....few!

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Ok, not sure if I am on the correct thread or not, so please excuse me if I am posting in error.
Here's my issue: I had a sale on one of my site and they used Google Checkout to purchase. I get an email from GC telling me of the sale, I use the link in the email to process order. I go into my site, and find that there is absolutely no record of the sale. No customer name, no record of any item being purchased. A few hours after processing the charge, I get another email from GC telling me about an error in the API callback. I discovered that I left /MY_SHOP/ in it. I removed it, saved the changes.
But today, I still show no record of a sale in my store, or items purchased. So, a friend does a test buy. They buy an item, I get notified of the sale, but have to wait the allotted time GC mandates to give the buyer a chance to cancel the order. After the allotted time, I process the charge. An hour or so goes by, I get no notification of an API callback error, so I assume that the correction was right. But, still no sale is showing in my store, no customer name, no items purchased. What am I doing wrong? Why does it not indicate a sale? Why do I not have a customer info or products sold in my admin reports? This makes it very hard to be able to keep track of sales. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, would the new version of GC correct this issue?

What error do you have under Tools - Integration Settings when you login to your GCO account?
What errors are you showing in the log file?

Removing GCO button is the easy part. All you have to do is comment out the GCO from the 3 template files that you're currently using.
As far as offering GCO as payment option like Paypal currently works, it's a tricky deal because when this has been done in the past, the radio button option send the customer to google checkout but doesn't charge anything so they shop for free.
This issue was discussed way earlier in the life of this mod that has now been abandoned.

It sounds like your installation is messed up. Can you post your code for tpl_login_default.php here to see why that's messing up your create account page. Alternatively you can compare yours to the code below using winmerge or beyond and compare:

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
For some reason the googlecheckout.php file in the /includes/modules/payment knocked out all the logging in when Google checkout was enabled in admin. This file was from the reward points module. I have removed it and replaced with the "old file" and it is working again.
If you log in and add a gift voucher into your cart, the GC button appears, add anything else then it vanishes along with the right hand sideboxes.
I checked the login default and it is an exact match to yours.
I have double checked the installation of all the mods (started from scratch and did each mod alteration - then checked against my live files) and all seem ok.
I am going to remove the ssl now and see if that changes anything.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I have changed SSL to false and everything stays the same.
I have changed it back and have disabled GC in my admin/payments to enable logging in on the website.
I have double checked all the GC installation codes within files and they are also all correct.
admin/orders.php
includes/modules/downloads.php
includes/templates/mytemplate/templates/tpl_checkout_payment_default.php
tpl_login_default.php
tpl_shopping_cart_default.php
tpl_time_out_default.php
Other mods I have added which use the same files are:-
Better together 1.6 (I did have trouble installing this mod)
Reward points full suite 1-13a
Other mods also added include:-
Supertracker 1-0
Googlebase Froogle feeder 1-14a
Nochex APC 1-2

Which version of GCO are you using? I still think it's an installation/configuration issue. Our site is heavily moded and we do not have any problem with GCO.
What's your settings on the GCO side? Please don't post your merchant id or key here just the other settings.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I am talking about your setting on the Google side NOT Zen Cart.

For sure, your API callback setting is wrong. If you follow the instruction you will notice that it should be your https url plus googlecheckout/responsehandler.php so the final result should be something like https://www.someurl.com/googlechecko...nsehandler.php
I am not sure that google support shared ssl and even if google does, you might want to check that your ssl is on the list of approved vendors.
Also, uncheck all the options under advanced setting and then switch to sandbox so the ssl issue can be tested separate.
So here is a good troubleshopping approach:
Change your API callback to the appropriate setting
Change your setting on the admin side to sandbox
Test GCO without SSL
report back.

Sorry to jumpin but, i was having the same problem and maybe i can help you out a little. What i did was first i followed this post.
Here the last thread: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...ghlight=google
Also make sure you have google analytics installed.
Then i had ssl active, I found out that you have to have ssl active for it to work, is what i was told even though they said it does not have to be active. GC checks for that. Then signed in to GC Sandbox went to MYSALES then went to TOOLS then clicked on INTERGRATION CONSOLE and that will tell you what errors you are getting. I was getting this error:
We encountered an error trying to access your server at http://<your url>/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php -- the error we got is: Send failed with code: 404. Response body was
Once i found out about the error i Then i looked around and found this file that i haved attached just put it into the root of your site and run it. And it will tell you why it is not communicating with ZC. Once i fixed those issues i was all good hope this helps you.
-
Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Firstly, thank you all for your help in relation to this issue I am currently having.
I am 100% convinced that somewhere I have incorrectly altered ZC files or I have a DB issue so.....
I have started a brand new installation again with Terranetwork with the name printmarketingonline.co.uk
I am now installing each MOD from scratch and thoroughly testing before starting the next. Once it is 100% working I am then uploading the Candlewithcare database and checking it works with that too.
When I have all the mods installed, I am then going to compare the two using winmerge and post my results back on here.
I know it's a long way round it but i'm sure it will be quicker.
In the mean time I have disabled GC from my CWC site until I can solve this issue.

Attention required: order notification failing
I have checked all settings, double checked, triple checked and then checked all over again to insure that I have not left anything out, made any errors, etc. and yet still I get the emails several times a day saying "Attention required: order notification failing" and it wont stop. I have checked all settings in google too. What can I do about this? It's not telling me in the skin shop admin cp that I have new google orders either. This is not good. I've been struggling with this for about 6 weeks now trying to fix it on my own with no luck. Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Error: We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://www.julzbodyboutique.com/MY_...eckout_process -- the error we got is: Send failed with code: 404. Response body was: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <TITLE>404 Not Found</TITLE> </HEAD><BODY> <H1>Not Found</H1> The requested URL /MY_SHOP/index.php was not found on this server.<P> <P>Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. <HR> <ADDRESS>Apache/1.3.41 Server at www.julzbodyboutique.com Port 443</ADDRESS> </BODY></HTML>
This error, I believe is like I already stated in my first post, was because I left "/MY_SHOP/" in the call back API. I removed that, as I already stated and have not gotten another message.
What my question/concern was about was the fact that my zencart store does not show a customer, does not show a purchase, and I don't know if this was the reason for no information on my website regarding this sale or not. Also, like I said in my first post, when my friend did a test purchase via googlecart, and the card was charged etc... she also did not show up in the store as a sale, and this time NO error was received. I need to know why sales are not showing up in my store, why no customers are showing up in my store, no stock reduction, etc... If it were NOT for the notification from google cart telling me I had a sale, I never would have known.

If you download the file from the post #2723 put it in your zencart root folder run it, you will find out why it is not getting back to your store. I had the same problem til i ran the file and fixed the problem GC might not be getting back to your responsehandler.php file. when i found that out i just started changing the permissions on the file and it worked. So try running that to start narrowing down the problem.

The callback url in the google settings for your shop should be:
https://www.julzbodyboutique.com/goo...nsehandler.php

Your callback url appears to be OK, so check that you have XML selected as the callback method. Doublecheck your credentials in the admin setup.

Its not seeing your responsehandler. Can you tell me what permission you have set for it. I had mine set at CHMOD 777 Then I changed it to CHMOD 755 and it worked. it has something to do with (500 Internal Server Error). Try changing that and run the response handler test again and see what you get. Make sure you clear your cache also.

My permissions were 644 so I changed it to 755 and ran the test again. Then I got....

I'm sure it is production mode, but I need to check. Where will I find this setting?
I never went into sandbox mode, I'm pretty sure.
-
Re: Attention required: order notification failing
Ahhh, just found the setting.
I'm in production mode. I never did test it in sandbox mode.
Is this a requirement?
-
Re: Attention required: order notification failing
I was just looking at my settings....
.htaccess Basic Authentication Mode
Your site Site in installed with PHP over CGI?
This configuration will disable PHP Basic Authentication that is NOT compatible with CGI used in the responsehandler.php to validate Google Checkout messages.
If setted True you MUST configure your .htaccess files here.
False
True
I have this set to false. Should it be set to true?
-
Re: Attention required: order notification failing
Well, I tried that anyway, and it didn't help.
The only thing I haven't done is try sandbox mode. I never set up a sandbox account with google. I don't know what else to do.
-
Re: Attention required: order notification failing
I just changed permissions of the googlecheckout directory from 777 to 755 and now I get this...
Quote:
HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request
Date: Fri, 24 Oct 2008 14:56:03 GMT

Connection: close
Transfer-Encoding: chunked
Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
Invalid or not supported Message
So I just put the settings back to 777 for that directory.

Set up a sandbox account for testing because in production mode charges will occur.

Re: Attention required: order notification failing
But I'm not testing it. It's been working and I'm receiving orders. I have been for months now. It's just that I'm not being notified of the sales. I have to go into google once every hour to check on the sales manually.

What it seems to be is that the GC is not getting through to your response handler.php file. I'm at a loss for why it is not all of a sudden. Have you installed any other mods lately?
-
Re: Attention required: order notification failing
No, it's been like this for about a year, ever since I first installed GC. I'm just now reporting it because I have spent a lot of time trying to fix it on my own and had no luck. This is not something new that just came about. I can use it for orders, but I have never had notification of my sales and I have always received the error emails saying "Attention required: order notification failing".

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
RE: CARRIAGE NOT WORKING WITH GOOGLE CHECKOUT
HI All!
I've installed the latest version of GC and got everything up and running with the exception of carriage. Because the order is sent to GC before carriage is selected there is no carriage charge - also I can't seem to configure the postage matrix as I am using Royal Mail and am only posting to the UK & EU.
I currently see this in my Zencart GC Module:
Default Values for Real Time Shipping Rates
Default values for real time rates in case the webservice call fails.
Set Default Value to 0 to disable the method
Shipping Generator
Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded Signed ForTM "Packet" rm1stpacketsf not configured!
Royal Mail 2nd Class Recorded Signed ForTM "Packet" rm2ndpacketsf not configured!
Royal Mail International Signed For® "Small Packet" rmamisfsmallpacket not configured!
**NB I have Big Royal Mail module added.
I have gone to the shipping generator and generated the code - am I then supposed to add this code to a file? - if so which one?
I'd be happy with a per unit item carriage charge if I cant get the Royal mail one to work - it's just it adds another carriage option to those who wish to pay via paypal.
Many Thanks in advance

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I am having trouble with a google checkout module install.
It appears to be working, but when it comes to the final button, it creates an invoice but doesn't actually charge.
Anyone know why this might be happening?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I need to integrate GoogleCheckOut with Zipship module. As I see, ZipShip was constructed based on Zones module. But the problem is that GoogleCheckOut cannot receive quotes for shipping from it. I've put ZipShip to the list of 'supported' modules and based on its structure it must understand it.
But ZipShip has a few mistakes inside the code. For example I've fixed the mistake when it cannot understand price for default ('00000') shipping zip-code. It is possible that it has the similar small mistake.
Does anybody have the same problem? I have the project where I need to use those modules together and the time is up :( Please, help.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Right, excuse me for being terse, but BigNath: I had the same problem, and it was caused by a bad install. - This module is very overide unfriendly, so don't install it in your overide folders! - Also, if the images are not in the right folder you will get a weird page layout during checkout.
steve1965: have you configured everything properly in your admin interface. - There are a lot of fiddly little details that need to be configured for this module and you MUST have everything in place or it won't work - it's that simple.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Hi, forgive me if the answer to the following lies somewhere in the preceding several hundred pages! I did my best to search.
I'm trying to get the Google checkout module to work with my zen cart installation, and have followed all instructions. I'm currently running on sandbox to get things working. I'm not getting any errors, but when trying to check out, I select Google Checkout on step 2, continue to step 3, but when I click 'Confirm the Order', it just takes me back to the still full shopping cart. No option to make payment is given, and no orders are presented on the Google Checkout CP or Zen Cart Admin. Any ideas where to go with this?
Thanks

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Many thanks Doug. That particular problem is fixed, and in it's place are two others;
1) The Google Checkout Integration Console keeps throwing up the error; "We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://(url here)/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php -- the error we got is: Remote host closed connection during handshake" Any clues?
2) The shipping set up for this module seems to be a disaster. My requirements are that I need shipping to depend on both zone and weight, something I configured using the zone tables, but I am at a complete loss as to how to achieve this with Google Checkout. I simply need something weighing x lbs to cost £x for shipping. Have played with shipping generator and shipping_methods.php all to no avail.
The documentation for this module really sucks, so any help would be most gratefully received.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Hello everyone, I was trying to install the google checkout module but i couldn't find info on the installation so i just copied all of the files over and had them overwrite whatever was in there. Everything shows up and i put my info in there... but when I login as a customer and try to checkout it goes through the process then reverts back to the shopping cart pre-checkout and does not go to google checkout. How do I fix this?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Hi Zenners,
my GC is not calculating any shipping charges, i searched this thread but I cannot find any answer even though the problem has been experienced by several users. :frusty: I'd like the shipping charges (which are already set per total order weight) + handling to be calculated by zen cart with the possibility to pay with GC.
thanks!

Nobody has an idea how to solve this shipping problem?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Forgive me also if the answer to my question lies deep inside the hundreds of thousands of pages below. I have been searching all over the net for days, trying everything but I'm hitting a brick wall .
OK, here is the problem: The "Place your order now - .." button in Google Checkout is grayed out.
A few days ago I was able to do a complete checkout for a digital product in the sandbox environment. I was able to set order status from Zen Cart Admin UI, or from Google Checkout Seller UI and all of this over SSL while everything kept perfectly in sync.
When I set the store to start using the production system the "Place your order now -..." button started to be grayed out. Setting the exact system back to sandbox made no difference what so ever -- the button in Google Checkout stays disabled (grayed out).
There are no messages in the response_messages.log and response_error.log (except the ones when the sandbox worked), nor anything inside the Google Checkout Sandbox UI.
I have tried many variations on shipping options, tax zones, table rates, free shipping, carrier calculated and on and on to no avail.
Please also see my Issue on the code.google.com system:
http://code.google.com/p/google-chec...s/detail?id=24
There you will also find a sample of the cart XML.
Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Problem downloading Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Please bear with me and forgive if this has been addressed.
I have searched and read, but fixes not what I need.
Problem:
I download, but it does it much too quick for my dailup connection.
Believe me I know about the speed!
But the files are there and they are showing data in them, but when I go to unzip -the files are there with no data.
I have tried repeatly with the same results.
Any ideals/suggestions?
TIA
Anna

I'm having the same issue and I'm using the USPS shipping module. I'm also having the issue with zencart admin not tracking the order as well. And like you, I'm extremely frustrated because I've scoured these forums and attempted all suggestions to no avail, and I've posted myself and gotten no reply.
And to think I moved to zencart mostly because it had a google checkout module....:frusty:

HELP
Shipping Methods Generator
What Do I do with this information or do I name it something for the GC php page to talk to?

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Yes this module is a nightmare: it has an awful readme page and lately basically no support, maybe google is getting too rich to really care about what they are doing (not that they ever care too much about users..) like AOL did... I went to the google forums to get some ideas... finally today i had a confirmation that there is a problem with the responsehandler.php (the file that is supposed to handle the communication between ZC and GC) so I'm going to read the error messages that google emailed to me and see if I can resolve something. If I do I'll post it here..

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Ok, yes it is the responsehandler.php that is not answering because of the famed 401 error:
We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://capoeira-shop.com/googlechec...nsehandler.php -- the error we got is: Send failed with code: 401. Response body was: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <TITLE>401 Authorization Required</TITLE> </HEAD><BODY> <H1>Authorization Required</H1> This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.<P> <P>Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. </BODY></HTML>
BUT i don't understand how could this be since I checked the merchant # and Key # entered in the ZC module several times: THEY ARE IDENTICAL to my GC account!

Admittedly, I'm receiving a different error, the famed SSL exception error, but having the same 'shipping' issue. I noticed, when I looked at my GC module settings, a place for google checkout to calculate shipping "if the callback fails" or some such. Is it possible that enabling those would at least garner shipping charges?
-
Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
yes, you can enable that for the time being, I haven't checked if it is weight sensitive or not, but it is better than nothing ...
also you can look into the google checkout forums for this SSL problem I saw some stuff about it there (didn't read it though...)

google checkout has a huge list of ssl certificates they'll accept but needless to say, it's a bit overwhelming. Not to mention that not all ssl certificates are the same. And that many are quite cost prohibitive for the small merchant. Any suggestions?
(and hey melena, did you get your issue solved?)

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
my godaddy ssl cost me $30.00 and seems to be working just fine with GC. hope that helps:smile:

Is there anyway to have Google Checkout validate the address to see if it is a residence and then not allow the user to select an invalid shipping method? This seems possible as it is exactly what FedEx.com is doing.
Thank you for your advice.
I am bumping this because I too have an issue with this and find it hard to believe that noone else has this issue. Mainly my issue is that GCO gives no option for reular Fedex ground shipping. I cannot use GCO because of this.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I installed the Googel Checkout module. It shows up in my admin/modules/payment section. I was able to set it up.
But I don't see an option for Google Checkout in my shopping cart. I see my paypal check out, but not the Google checkout. Did I miss a step? I do have a merchant ID and password from Google.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Google Checkout on the actual Payment page.
Has anyone figured this out?
Can I copy and paste the info and insert it into the right page. Which page?
FYI- I am not giving up on this module because Google covered my hide this summer when someone used a stolen Amex card for $1500 in Brazil.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
Time to ask for help again. I have 2 shipping methods set up on my store. 9.99 for orders under $75, and free after that. When someone checks out with GC they get the option to pick one of the options. It would be great if it was smart enough to assign them the proper shipping option. I have disclaimers saying "pick the proper option or your order will not ship" but every now and again someone places a $5 order and picks free shipping. Frustrating for all parties involved.
Anyone have any Idea on how to force GC to use a certain option? I really can't believe they haven't fixed this module yet.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I'm still having problems with the responsehandler even if the authentication has been disabled. My webhosting has checked all their settings and they should go thru without problem according to them... I'm really frustrated by google checkout and the non-existing support they give...

That's the price we pay for low fees. Actually, using Adwords is a deal because others will charge you monthly for using their services and you don't see anything for it. With Google, the monthly fees go back into advertising, which is where many of us fall short. 1/3 od profits should go back into advertising. With companies that are small like mine, I cannot afford that and have opted to target my main audience by advertising in their most prominent magazine.
Back to GC. Clear your Cache.
All the Merchant keys are totally completed? Production or Test?
Checked? https://checkout.google.com/
Checkout production environemnt always requires HTTPS.
Is your bank Acct confirmed? Analytics, Taxes? ETC.
Trying to help.

Re: Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)
I'm still waiting and wondering when GC will be available to those who are not in UK or USA.
Google's Euro HQ is here in Dublin but, we still have not got GC in Ireland.:shocking:

Can you show me the code that needs to moved and where, I'd like to try this.
I am losing orders to the clumsy checkout and than having to Google Invoice each customer.

Where can I find instructions for adding a module (specifically I want to add the google checkout module) - maybe I'm being dumb but hey it's been a long week(!) and I can't find what I want by searching - every thread/post assumes that the module is already installed!
