Didn't work. Removing files and starting over later. Got a blank page after I loaded a new product up. So the php5 thing doesn't work for it because??? Probably missed files that should be changed...no idea. Can do an htaccess file supposedly to handle all php files but I must be missing something because I can't get that to work either. Too pooped to care at the moment but will try later. (Changing the facebook_authorization to php5 worked. I was able to allow access but I simply can't seem to get the rest of it to work. I know I'm missing something.....probably something obvious. UGH!)

I've tried forcing php5 with htaccess. Doesn't seem to work. I get as far as the page ID and token when I rename the authorization.php to php5. When trying to add an item to my catalog, I get the blank page and no item is added.

I have tried to install the autoFacebook but I cannot make it work. Now I want to try out the autoFacebook Lite. I have installed on my facebook and it didn't work for me. Could anyone tell me what I should do step by step? For e.g., in the setup I don't know what should I put in the username? And do I need to upload all the files from the autoFacebook to the server as well? Should I just leave blank in the $app_id, $app_secret, $page_token..? Thanks for your help.

I have installed autoFacebook Lite, configured the facebook app and uploaded the update_product.php and setup the app id value.
But when I add a product in Zen-Cart, I got the message that "Facebook was successfully updated" but nothing shows on my store facebook page.
Any ideas please?
P.S: what should you put in the username field? is it your facebook username or the store facebook page username?

Autofacebook Lite fails because something is screwed with the configuration page. You're asked to enter a username ( is this the facebook username or a username on the Zencart? ). This feild is initially coming up as profile.php, which I suspect is actually supposed to be the third item in the list down?

Well, facebook lite is still working for me but now when I add a product it's not being added to the fb page, it used to. I have to add a product and then edit/update and then it posts to fb like normal. For some strange reason it won't work when adding a new product like it did within the last 2 or so weeks.
Now it's not working at all, was working with updating a product as of 11-5. FB must have changed something, or perhaps this app creates too much content and is being considered spammy? Would love to hear from the author to see if he can shed some light into what is happening and what the fix is.
I tried it to today and it is working fine, I found that you must have only 1 FB page on your profile, if you have a few it seems to apply it to the first on the list.

Just tried again. Played around with different things and was able to get it to post to an app page (used for the fb like button) when I changed the $pageID to the app page in update_product.php. But cannot get it to post to our fb page. We only have 1 fb page so that isn't an issue. Really hoping that Jamie will post his thoughts on what is going on and if there is a remedy.

I am having the same problem, was still working 3 days ago.
If you are using the lite version trying using the 2.0 version it still works as we currently use it today.
Just pay close attention to the developers appilication inside Facebook because some of the how to instructions is not listed and has been removed from the app basic configuration is all that is required and give it page permissions as described in the how to and it should work without problems.

Looking at it a little closer - it is a permission problem (error code 200) now to figure out what FB has changed.

I've got mine back working again, here is what I did. I'll be referring back to my post in this thread on I believe page 16 I lay out how to gleam all your account information from FB.
I re-ran that script and updated my list locally. At first it did not look like much had changed. So anyway in the process of testing I opened my editor and copied and paste the NEW "access token" (referred to in the mod as page token on line 92) that I had just gotten from FB and inserted into where the old one was in the update_product.php uploaded the revised file back up onto my server (remember to always back up your original file first).
Then went into my zen cart, setup a test category and created a test product with price, description and image then uploaded it with success.
I will be testing the other FB pages I manage to make sure they all begin updating properly from the various zen carts that I also manage.
Cool now I can get back to my Thanksgiving Menu LOL

There 's no need to choose "facebook's user or pages installation" during app's creation, cause fb have deleted this option.

The consensus of opinion after reading through the thread seems to be that the mod no longer works, or does anyone have a solution to the problem?
I recently installed this mod.
It works......
But it only sends to FB the newly created products that are actually created from a blank "new product" form. When we create a new product by copying a current product and then change info to make the new product then these new products don't show on FB. Not really good because we almost always create new products from old product pages.
Any solution to this?

I have tried resettingup the ap and i experience the following problem, when i try the facebook_autorization.php it returns back to my site without displaying the token as it did before. I know that it works as i have done this once before and it was working flawlessly. Now i cant even generate a new autorization code page.
Is there a particular method to reinstalling that i am missing, as all i have done is delete the files and repeat the process in the instructions.

5. Agree to the terms
6. Create Application
7. Fill in Security words if prompted
If success then you will be sent to the main application page

1. You will now be on the About Page - Make sure everything is the way you want it mainly the App Name and Email address is all you need here
2. On the left click WebSite - fill in the Site URL Ex; http:// www. yourdomain .com/ without the spaces of course make sure the trailing slash is in place
3. On this same page Site Domain fill this in with example.com of course using your own domain no trailing slash
Ignore FaceBook Integration this is not needed unless you know what you are doing
Ignore Mobile Devices it is also not needed unless you know what you are doing
Ignore Advanced Tab leave everything as is no need to change anything here

- Click Save Changes

1. Take the file facebook_authorization.php fill in all the blanks as you have done before
A. Application ID
B. Application Secret
C. Make SURE the address of the facebook_authorization.php is correct before trying to connect if you have it in a sub directory other then your root directory be sure to list it in this file
-Save File Upload to your location specified in this file
2. Make sure you fill in the same fields required in the admin --> includes --> modules --> update_product.php and use a fresh file to ensure it is not the twitter code messing with the app secrets and keys.
-Save File and upload
-If this works you can always add twitter back in
3. Now go to the applications page you just created and allow that application post to the page of your choice either an existing or a new one
4. Now in another window or tab but the same browser go to http:// www. yourwebsite .com/facebook_authorization.php or whatever you have it uploaded and see what happens if done correctly you should get FaceBook Allow Access Page, Click Allow
Then you should get your Page ID and Key.
Hope this works for you and every one else.
If this does not work you can try the lite version as I mentioned earlier

Open admin/includes/modules/update_product.php find the code below and move it just before the zen_redirect right at the end of the file. Now when you add new products or update a product it will update facebook. You can do the same thing for twitter.Quote:

As it works now anytime a change is made to a product it is sent to FB. Correct a spelling error and it is sent to FB, correct another spelling error and it is sent to FB again, change the price and it is sent to FB.

Does anybody know how to limit how many product update is posted to FB? For example, if we add 300 new products today, we obviously don't want to post 300 updates. I have brought up this issue before but there's still no resolution.

The advanced script does not have this feature (unless I missed something somewhere) the lite version may have this feature not to sure as I have never used it with to much success.Quote:

One of the sites I use, the page token gets changed every second day for some reason and then it gives me error so I have to change the code.
