I am having the same error message with showtrail and hidetrail errors. What javascript file are you referring to? I have had some irregular large images from my distributor that I have loaded lately.I thought that might be the issue. The error message is on my main page.Quote:

I'm sure I am just over looking something but i just installed the Image Handler on my site. The problem im having is all my categories and my layout boxes on the right side are gone now just on the index page. When i go to admin and remove IH from database all returns to normal.
I have searched the forums and havent found something relating to this.

Question for the gurus.
I have different lines of products with categories, subcategories, et al.
I put my images inside the images folder, and try to reproduce within it the actual folder structure of the site, in order to avoid confusion.
Now, when entering images into IH2 it saves them all to the root of the images folder.
Not that there is a problem with that, it's only that it could become confusing as the site grows, and some naming conflicts might also arise.
Any ideas?

I am having some problems with Image Handler. PLZ help.
I recheck my installation and everything is there.
Do I have to choose one image type in admin? Right now I have it on the zen default.
I have the apple zen template.
The hover is not working in my product info, I have no water marks on images in the product list or main page, and the water mark isn't working on the "large" image of the product on the product info page.
This is the test items I installed and configured with image handler.

When a page fails to load correctly it means the a file needed is broken, just need to find which one.
I ask before, have you check to see that you upload "All" the Image handler files and that they are in the correct folders?

Not sure why but if I upload addtional images for a product that image will resize to the larger image with a watermark. But the main product image on my product info page does not have the watermark on the larger image link, the image is not in the cache folder.

I don't remember moving anything, how ever I have to admit I wasn't the most organized with the first few pictures.. I didn't quite understand how the names would cause some additional images I didn't intend. So I erased all pictures and uninstalled image handler.Quote:

Ok on the first item picture I uploaded from image handler....
Pop-up large still has no water mark, it's set to one in the admin.
I see it's not in the cache. I did un-install and redid everything - checking each file. :(
Second attempt ..... still not working on large image or on the product listing page. seems like the only place my water mark shows in on the product_info page on the main product image listed there! :frusty:
I know it can not be this hard.... geez I just can not see it... What in world did I do wrong?

ok this is what I found so far.... if my main picture for a product has the suffix for the LRG or MED in there name (MED looks better) IH will put the watermark on the picture in every view.... ??

Top hand i've been tring renaming files and addinf the ones from zencart directly. It seems not to work whatever i try. If you just click in one of the categories then everything works fine. I don't understand only the first page not working.

Please have a look at the site now IH is activated and you see the sideboxes are all gone. But then click on one category on the left side boxes and you will see them appear.
IH uses GD libraries or ImageMagick (server side) to process the images. On large files GD libraries or ImageMagick can choke (server times out) which will create a corrupt image file in the bmz_cache folder. So with IH on when Zen Cart tries to load the image it fails at that point. Did you check for that image that is in a bmp format? I think I saw it was 5 megs big.Quote:

I don't mean to step on your issue hachaliah. It is much worse than mine.
I was attempting to load images to a product and the IH page disappeared. When I highlight the product in admin/tools/IH2 manager and click "display", the page goes white, nothing. I have to nav back. the entire category is also gone from the website. If I remove IH2 the cat is back on the website. I followed post #1836 which seemed to be similar but that fixed didn't help. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
IH2 is off but here is the page that goes missing with IH2 on, 1.3.8,

IH uses GD libraries or ImageMagick which is on the server to process the images. BIG images can cause GD libraries or ImageMagick to timeout which in turn creates a corrupt image.
Page(s) will fail when trying to load a corrupt image.

I have the same problem as Beer Bender. Image Handler does not seem to be resizing my images. Interestingly, on the Image Handler preview page, the PNG file is not being displayed ata ll (I need to check source file exists but I am sure I have installed IH correctly - all the configuration options are available and the hover function works).
Does anyone have any ideas - I am going to keep pluging away for now.
Am I right in thinking that the hover image should be large than the thumb on display? See f u n a d u l t c o s t u m e s . c o . u k

Just to give you some more info, the preview image admin/images/ih-test.png does exist so I do not fully understand why the 3 png files do not show in the IH Admin-> Preview Tab.

Darn it there is more - I asked before but my images aren't being resized in the IH/Product page where it displays 3 versions of each product image, namely Default Size, Medium Size and Large Size. The dimensions and sizes seem to be getting calculated and displayed correctly but all three images (for one specific image) are all the exact same image on the server.
Sorry for repeat posts - but I will get this to work and publish my findings!!!

I am beginning to wonder if there is a bug in the script.
Let me explain what I have.
I have a product with 3 images, called p.jpg, p_b.jpg and p_c.jpg.
When I look at the images in IH/product info I get this table

Is this a bug? Does anyone else have the same problem? I have a downloaded an old version of the file even? The file in question is admin/image_handler.php and the version info is

Ignore my table above. I was playing with _MED.jpg and _LRG.jpg suffixes. What are these anyway? When you ahve them IH shows a delete button? Can anyone send me some links explaining this?
With regards to IH/product info always showing small images - well I have fixed this in the code if anyone wants it? But is it really a bug or was it by design? Every image was going through this call with the 50 and 40 hard coded (albeit through a define)
get_resized_image(50, 40, [generic]).
THis was producing images 24X20??????

so hover works great
However my additional image sizes are too small

Thats an interesting one! When you hover over your additional image you can see that it is trying to display the large image file
images/large/MG15BMain_01_LRG.gif
Does this file exist? As when the image loads it is displaying
images/MG15BMain_01.gif (which presumably is the 53X80 image)

I've taken another look at my site - my pages also try to load
images/large/xxxxxx_LRG.jpg and they don't exist.
That is when control gets handed to IH to generate an image and a picture from the bmz_cache folder is displayed. Your site still displays the images\xxxx.gif file leading me to think IH isn't getting the opportunity, or failing, to generate your image. Are all the files there? Are you folder permissions set correctly?
Could be to do with something in Configuration -> Images but that would be beyond my knowledge.

Firstly I would like to thank those responsible for Image Handler, it has been such a useful contribution for me.
I currently have the pop-up images activated and they look great, however I don't want the text indicating the product's name to appear above the pop-up image. Does anyone know how to get rid of it so that it is just an image that pops up when you hover over the small images?
If anyone could help me on this I would be very grateful as I have looked everywhere for this to no avail!

The image being displayed is the sample image to show that the file works, click on that row will now display the medium sized image to the right and then when you click that image the large image will pop up.

How can I increase the size of the hover image to 250px while keeping product info images at 80? Ive spend much time researching and cannot find the answer. I can see the larger image when I click on "larger image" but I want the larger image to appear in the hover too.

I would like to change the size of my additional images without changing the size of the small images site wide.
In the includes/templates/mytemp/templates/additional_images.php from row 84-95 there is this

It works fine but it also breaks IH2 small image handling. They no longer pop up on hover.
I also tried SMALL_IMAGE_WIDTH/2, SMALL_IMAGE_HEIGHT/2
This works too but once again. . . broken IH2.
How can I do this without breaking the IH2?

I have fixed the problem of the broken page in the index now i have got another issue which is the category products do not open in the IH format. There si no resizing.

Great script, I had it working Ok for a few days, but somehow the images are not bieng zoomed on the main page in the center columns of New, specials, featured products etc. :ohmy:
The zoom is workimg fine in all the scroll side boxes.
It does not work on the category pages, but it does work on the additional images on the product info page.
Just in case it helps, the zoom sign "+" is also not showing, it used to show earlier
I've cleared the cache... and also uploaded all the files again, but no change, please help

I have installed the Admin product images contribution which changes the admin/includes/modules/categories_product_listing.php file to display the product image in admin.
With large images I'm trying to make image handler intercept the zen_image function like it does on the front and show thumbnails rather than the full product listing.
No matter what i seem to do, image handler will not work in admin even though I have tried copying the code for zen_image from the includes/functions/html_output.php file and even manually calling the image handler code that admin/image_handler.php uses to display thumbnails in admin itself. Image Handler php works with thumbnails but nothing else does. It is driving me crazy!
I'm at a loss as to how to make it work - there are no error messages but Image Handler always returns the full image when called from admin, not the bmz_cache path. Has anyone made image handler thumbnail images in admin and if so can they please explain how to do it? Any help would be much appreciated! Hopefully I have posted this question in the right forum.

If you are getting a blank page, install Dr Byte's debugging utility. For admin, just copy the file into admin/includes/extra configures and then look in the cache folder of your site for an error message file that will point you to exactly where your problem is - it's great for debugging blank page errors in zen cart.

Think I have realised what it is:
jscript_imagehover.js
is the file which wasn't in my includes/templates/classic/jscript >> folder
Is this what everyone else found? I followed the intructions correctly, its just that installing lightbox broke it!
Just want to say I love the mod.
My recommendation is that it should be added to the stock Zen-Cart. I dont know how it go's on servers with out GD libraries or ImageMagick but probably just makes the system default back to the old image resizing method.

I'm having an issue with the hover images displaying too high on the page. I found a few posts where this was discussed but the link to the fix is no longer working. Can someone help with the fix for this?

There are 8 products, all of which hover perfectly.
However, in the New Prodcuts box at the bottom, all 8 products appear there too which is fine. But the hover on the last 2 float far away from the mouse cursor. You may not be able to replicate this is you are running at a different resolution to me (if that affects the coordinates????)
Just wondering if anyone has seen this before?
I have incidentally just applied the IE PageY null fix.

I suspect this has sometihng to do with there not being enough space BELOW the mouse cursor to display the image. I have attached a picture.
