Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
If this has already been addressed here, could someone please send me the link to the post, I haven't been able to locate it.
I've installed Apsona before several times and it's great, I am currently trying to help with another site that is having a problem with the install. This version of ZenCart uses the /manage folder to start the admin site instead of the standard /admin following the URL. I've tried installing Apsona into both folders one at a time but neither one will show the apsona shopadmin link under the 'Tools' menu.
The Zencart version is 1.3.9h and the site is hosted on Hostgator which I've used many times with Apsona so I'm not sure what the problem might be so any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

Hi, I am having problems here. I have uploaded lots of products and the special price is not showing up on my site?? I have another site, and I've checked that I have put the figures in the correct column when uploading so I am a bit stuck now as to what it can be?
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Hi, I'm new to this so I'm sorry if this has been asked before
Is there an easy way to upload mass images?
My distributor gave me an excel list with the product description, prices, model, etc but no images. I already uploaded the list with apsona, there's like 4000 products.
That's a lot of products to upload images one by one =/
Thanks in advance.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Category Question:
I am using Apsona and have used it to download a current copy of the websites database to use as a template for adding several hundred new products to the site.
If I enter the new categories:sub-categories in the same format as in the downloaded template (Main:Sub1:Sub2) into the new database file and upload it, will it create the new categories/subs that are needed or do I need to go into ZenCart admin and add the new categories first before I upload the new database?
Thanks

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Still loving Apsona, but would like a little more info on how to make a sales report, a bit like the "Sales Report" mods shows.
I can see there are loads of charting and graphing options, but I'm simply after making a weekly or monthly total sales bar chart.
Should be easy, I'm sure it can be done, but the solution is evading me!

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Just another quick thing - when importing products via Apsona, to make those products searchable in admin I find I need to go to store admin and update all product sort options, master category etc.
Until I do that, the product will still exist but won't show in admin-side searches.

How can i get this i joined and download the link in the email sent and it says there is no archive. Or the zip file is empty.

We tested and it actually created huge amount of identically named categories (of course we had several products in a category with the same name). The categories were also named like "categories: sub-categories" instead of making parent and sub-category.
Also still didn't find out how to update products in several languages and how to make / keep linked products.

Apsona: Are there any plans to incorporate special pricing into Apsona. This feature would be very useful when doing special (end of seasons specials, etc) pricing for hundreds of products.

Anthony H - We're definitely supporting Apsona ShopAdmin. We've just been a bit quiet lately because of lots of other work. I'm not sure why you did not get an e-mail, though - did you try sending e-mail to us through the contact-us page on our website?
Thanks.

Can you perhaps spell out a bit more detail about what you want? I realize that our documentation is a bit sparse, but we'll try and put together a tutorial on our website.

Make sure you have the space after each colon. If you don't have one, Apsona will treat the entire string as one category name.
Hope this helps.

Oops! I didn't see your reply until I'd figured it out myself.
Finally, I think I have the hang of making reports in Apsona, and it's very powerful and very easy to visual stuff. Really good.
If anyone has a report they want to make but don't know how, just ask on this thread. As there are no instructions, it took me a good half a day to figure it out, but trust me, it rocks once you know how!

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Is there any way of making the div which displays the data much higher?
I want to be able to print a tall page of horizontal barchart. Or implementing the print function?
I can override it manually by using the developer toolbar to untick the style
PHP Code:
.sf-report-run .sf-tabcontent {
height: 470px; < untick this
overflow: auto;
padding: 0;
}
in apsona.1103152126.min.css but the option of a tall display would be nice too :)
Apart from that, all good, and I can even workaround that one so no rush.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
I’m having a problem with Apsona I’ve never seen before. I’ve been using Apsona since Jan. 2011 and its been working great.
When I started using Apsona I was on a shared hosting account and Apsona ran great.
I just moved to a VPS setup and re-installed ZenCart and Apsona. I had to changed the rights on a couple of files after the install but since then it has worked just fine.
I used Apsona to create 19 new categories in the store and there were no problem with that.
The problem starts when it goes to import the products. It just sits there with the timer running, but nothing is being put into the DB.
I’ve checked the Server error logs and there are no errors. Checking phpmyadmin there is nothing going into the DB.
My host doesn’t know anything about Apsona and since its hosted on Apsona’s servers they don’t have a clue what to look for, and neither do I so does anyone have and idea what might be causing this?
-
Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Here is a bit more info.
I know for sure that Apsona is adding the new categories to the DB during the import.
Apsona is checking the DB to see if the import is a new add, or an update. After that it should add the new products, but that is where it stops.
-
Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
My Host has completely reloaded my VPS system. I did a fresh install with one template, Product Fields, and Apsona.
Same results when I tried to import new products. Apsona created the categories, but would not add products to DB.
Now that I'm sure this isn't a conflict between Apsona and another addon it has to be a Server setting.
Does anyone know what the Server Requirements are?
-
Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
All Fixed! Apsona support figured it out.
They had modified their code to allow me to use an extra field (product fields). When the code was modified I was on the old Hosting account and the "zen" prefix was used.
The prefix wasn't used with this new install. So, the code was hanging when it got to the modified code that was expecting the "zen" prefix.
The fix was to rename the tables with the prefix and all is working.
-
admin, products sort by price not working
In admin-> a list of products you can choose the displayed sort order via a pulldown on the top right.
Mine works apart from sorting by product price+ or -.
In the products table I find that all the products I have created/imported via Apsona do not have a value in the field for products_price_sorter.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Just downloaded and installed on a test site. I seem to be having trouble exporting data. When clicking EXPORT, and automatically opening in Excel, it bunches all the data together into one row. Is there any limitations on what type of data can be included in a Product? Maybe QUOTES in the title or description? Or other character limitations?
I've also tried saving and importing the CSV into Excel using Delimited with Tab and Comma, but still have issues.
Anyone point me in the right direction?

Nevermind... Figured it out. I had my "Region and Language" setting for List Separator set to something other than comma. Put it back and I was back in business...

admin, products sort by price not working
To repair the empty price sorting field in the products table after importing new products:
1) check that all the products in the table have a master category id.
2) Go to Admin->Store manager and run Update ALL Products Price Sorter

in loading up attributes, Zen first needs Option names then the Option values.
Is there a way to enter these in bulk via Apsona Shopadmin?
PS simply cannot do without this program for entering, changing items, prices etc

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Hi all,
Ok I have this installed on a Zen 1.3.9h and everything seems to be working well except when I try to export the products and really starting to get aggravated. I am setting up a store to where I am selling products at Retail priced and setting up a store for wholesale (same products, categories, description, etc. when I try to export the products from the Retail store and it asks if I want to open or Save I have tried both and this is what is showing in the products.csv file -
{"error": "/get/data/product.csv: No query given."}
Now I have tried to select various different Filters when I am looking at the Export Selected Records box and keep getting the same thing.
Help would be greatly appreciated as I NEED this feature as the Retail store will have over 1,000+ Products that I will need to import into the wholesale site.
Thanks much in advance.

I've never seen that problem.
In the top right of the Apsona window is a feedback link you should use.
Apsona support is very good.

Are you still having this problem? I know that some hosting services have unusual rules about parameter transmission, and I'm wondering if that might be the issue. Please do drop us a note via our website if we can help.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Hello,
I have a customer who wants the available quantity on his 11,600 products updated regularly from a data feed supplied by the supplier. At first glance I thought this would do that. In looking at the documentation and watching the videos I am not sure this is a part of what Apsona does. The feed is constructed as a url that returns an xml file that looks something like this depending on the query.
<products>
<product cwr_sku="10001" mfg_part_number="1930.3">
<price your_price="900.00"/><description short="ACR RCL-100D REMOTE CONTROL SEARCHLIGHT 12V"/>
</product>
And goes on for (in this case about 1000 records)
The contents of this file are url dependent as to what gets returned.
He wants to pull the update several times a day automatically.
Is this something Apsona does? or should I be looking at some other thing?
-
Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Lenpilot - we don't (yet) support automatic data feeds or XML. At the moment, ShopAdmin is a purely interactive browser-based system.
Regards.
-
Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
No problem,
I actually spent the last two days writing a script to do this and I finally have it done. I am grabbing the csv version of their feed parsing it to the Zencart table format and running a "while loop" to throw the results to a preview page. (not needed but it makes the customer feel good) then when he has that warm fuzzy feeling that everything is going to be fine, he clicks the update link. and then: where product model =XXX update Quantity happens. Ultimately spitting out Success for each line updated! Or a whole bunch of nasty fail dialog, (which hasn't happened yet).
I would have liked to put this in cron but it won't let me grab the external feed... Maybe I will put it in as "include quantityupdate.php" (not the real name btw) in the front of the cart. I haven't decided yet.
But thanks for your response.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
I have a fresh copy of Zencart 1.5 installed and tried to install this app
1) nothing shows up under tools that says apsona
2) when i run http://localhost/surplus/apsona_index.php i get a blank screen with a blue header at the top with this in it " ShopAdmin for wils tv " where ever that comes from i have no idea.
3) trying to run any other php file is fruitless.
4) I have e-mailed Apsona and haven't as of yet had a response, guess they are to busy to support their product.
I am figuring this utility doesn't work in V 1.5 or has somebody been able to get this to work ?
Thank you

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
If it hasn't been upgraded to use the new v1.5 admin menu system then it won't show in the menu.
There are several support threads discussing the change, which developers can use for updating their mods.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Thanks DrByte
There is such a massive amount of topics, pages to go through it's almost impossible to find, would actually be nice if the forum was broken up into smaller chunks with more specific topics. I'm not complaining because there is a lot of information here, just a thought
:)
P.S
Would be nice if Apsona were that fast to respond LOL
-
Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
LOL - the forum was separated into about 80 different sections at one point, and everyone complained that they had no idea where to look for something let alone where to post, so it was consolidated into fewer broader categories. :)
If you're not into developing mods, then the programming instructions for that probably won't be all that useful to you.
-
Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Hello all,
I have read all the Topics and I can't find information about:
- I would like to import and export products in two languages but I can't find how to do it.
Can anyone help me?
Congratulations to Apsona for this beautifull program ;)
Regards

-
Using a second language
I assume you have already added the second language to your shop.
In Apsona, choose english, export the products with the fields you want.
In Apsona, change to the second language, export the products with the fields you want to a second csv.
Open the first csv with Openoffice to ensure you use the correct character set.
Save it in the Openoffice format. Save the file, now that's your working copy.
Open the second csv and copy the columns into this OO file..
Now you can arrange everything as you like using the common ID, model number as reference but with the language-dependent columns for name, description, meta tags etc.
You can rename the columns as you like as you can map them to the correct database fields during the import.
When you are ready to import, save the file as csv again.
In Apsona, choose english, import the csv. It will probably map the columns correctly but you can check them.
In Apsona, choose the second language, import the csv. You will probably have to map the fields manually for the id and the second language columns.
No doubt you will get errors flagged on the way but they are self-explanatory and anyway you wont be doing this on a live database will you!!!
regards
Steve
P.S. They are looking at 1.5 compatibility at the moment.

Folks,

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Hi, I was wondering if this capability has been added to Apsona... basically, have a report like this:
Product Name | Order Date | Customer Name | Attribute 1 name/selection | Attribute 2 name/selection | Attribute 3 name/selection
(with the attribute name/selection concatenated)
...or something like this:
Product Name | Order Date | Customer Name | Attribute 1 selection | Attribute 2 selection | Attribute 3 selection
So that each order with attributes is in a single column.
If that functionality is not yet supported, what is the likelihood of it being added anytime soon?
[[[
In my current version of Apsona, the (Ordered Products) report creates a new line item for each attribute of an ordered product, like this:
Product Name 1 | Order Date | Customer Name | Attribute 1 selection
Product Name 1 | Order Date | Customer Name | Attribute 2 selection
Product Name 1 | Order Date | Customer Name | Attribute 3 selection
]]]
Thanks!

They have not yet released it. I am running their test version and it works well. If you look above they are looking for 1 more person to test it before they release it. (jan 22 12:11pm post) The old version will not work on 1.5 because Zencart made a change in how menus are displayed.
Btw - I also use GoDaddy, and they will allow you to install any version. They only distribute 1.5, but you can get older versions in the Zencart archives, and install it yourself.

I did request to be added at their website this morning and yet to get e response from them. Thanks for the heads up on the older versions but I would like to keep it simple with the current version the GoDaddy is installing. I am sure that it wont be long.
its Just that the good Dr references that you can do it now based on older posts and that is misleading and time consuming. I don't mean any disrespect just that info like that makes peeps start searching with no results and that is a bummer.
Thanks

Apsona ShopAdmin for Zen Cart 1.5 using a local configure.php
Note that if you are using this locally (Xampp for example), and are using an additional /local/configure.php with local settings, the ShopAdmin page may not load.
In apsona_svc.php
PHP Code:
include ('includes/configure.php');
if (file_exists('includes/local/configure.php')) {
include ('includes/local/configure.php');
}
loads the standard and then local constants. This only partially works with not all the local defined constants replacing the normal ones.
I made this change to choose one or the other, which avoids the problem:
PHP Code:
if (file_exists('includes/local/configure.php')) {
include ('includes/local/configure.php');
} else {
include ('includes/configure.php');}
And for those confused about getting ShopAdmin in the first place:
1) Register at Apsona
2) Get the files
3) Get the 1.5 update files

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
If you already have an existing Apsona installation in your cart, tied to an Apsona account, you should only need to download and install the update from our downloads area. If you don't have one, though, you can sign up for one, in which case you should get a package containing all the files you need, including the ones for Zen Cart 1.5.
If you are seeing any anomalies, please let us know and we'll fix it.
Thanks!

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
I have signed up and downloaded the package but there is no read me file or any instructions as to where these files are supposed to go, which if i may say so, you didn't really answer my question ........... Where do they go ?
Thank you

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Okay i installed the add on and the update and when i select the tools/apsona shopadmin i get a blank screen with a blue bar at the top that says ShopAdmin for wils tv ( i have no idea where the wilstv comes from) also when i select the account info or feedback link nothing happens. I have attached a screen shot. I have also installed the mod from torvista and that didn't change anything. This is on a local host. Any suggestions besides going live ?
Thank you

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
I am having issues getting OPTIONS VALUES to import correctly into a 1.5 store from a 1.3.9 store
I have imported OPTION NAMES and PRODUCTS and even PRODUCTS ATTRIBUTES
The end result is that the OPTIONS VALUES seems to import properly, and even seem to be attached to the products, and I can see them(Values) in the apsona tab, BUT in the Zencart admin options_values_manager.php shows no values, I cant edit or use them via the admin pages at all, It seems broken......
Should I toss this whole idea?

I have not heard back from Apsona yet, but I didn't contact them until today. Since this was dealt with already I expected someone to point out the solution, but not.
Anyway here is another wrinkle to add to this. I was able to get around the error today by only updating 1000 products at a time. I don't know if that will work the next time I have to update, but it worked today.
Also, for every product I updated another De-Activated product was created.
So, I started out with 6000 products, and after updating 1000 of them I ended up with 6000 active products, and 1000 de-activated products.
This is getting stranger by the minute.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gary

I typically update over 9000 product prices at a time, in under 2 minutes. When you are updating, are you sure that you have the accurate data in the column that you have selected as "lookup by:". If this is inaccurate, you may be creating new files instead of updating the old ones.
Regarding the inactive products, are you including the "enabled" field in the update file? Check the headings of the file to ensure that it is not updating the enable file with a "0". This would deactivate the product
Finally - Is Apsona showing you any errors in the popup box?

In the Lookup by: window I'm using "Model". I understood that when in the Update Mode Apsona won't validate a product if it doesn't find an existing product to update. If that's not right let me know.
All the inactive products are products that were updated. Its just like it de-activated the original product and created a new one. That's new and it wasn't doing that before. The total active number of products stay the same, but the de-activated total increases by the number of products I update.
I'm thinking Apsona maybe timing out when I do the updates but its hard to pin down. Sometimes I can update 2500 records, and it's fine. The next update maybe 300 and I'll get the Server Not Responding error.
This is beginning to look allot like its both Apsona, and my Hosting company. I'm in the middle.
If you've got any ideas I'm all ears.
Thanks,
Gary

It sounds like you are doing the same thing that I am doing. When you upload the file, and go to the next screen(2. Set up Fields), does Apsona think it is updating the "Enabled" column? In other words, Apsona identify any of the columns listed as Enabled?Which fields are you trying to update?

I'm not sure what you mean by "enabled". I have to match each input field with one that is already in the DB.
http://yourneighborhoodstore.com/step-1%20copy.png
I hope the image shows up, never tried this before.
The next page it Validates each field. The next page after that shows how many are ready to be inputted and how many are rejected.
http://yourneighborhoodstore.com/step-2%20copy.png
All that is left is to import them into the DB. Today I was able to import 2200 new items without a problem.
This is just too weird.

I am having the exact same issues! It is very frustrating!!
My host reports everything is fine as well. Has anyone figured this out yet?

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
I started out by exporting my existing database out from Apsona as a csv file, which I then make into an Excel file. I then make all of my edits for my database from that file, convert it back to csv and upload it via Apsona. That way all of the column headings match the field titles in Apsona and in my database. Most of my updates are prices (I sell items made of silver which have volitle pricing.) Since most of my updates only involve price, I just update the columns that need updating.
When I add a product, I use the same Excel file, fill in the info in all of the columns, export just those new items to a csv file and import them into my database via Apsona.
One of the fields in your database is "enabled?" If this is set to 1, it is enabled. If it is set to 0 is is not enabled. Something has to be changing that parameter. I would look to see if you have a column in the file that Apsona thinks is the enabled field. Your screen shot above does not show all of the field headings, so I am not sure.
In the example you have above, I am not sure why you have so many columns the say "Do Not Import". I think if you do what I suggest above, have your update file only include the fields that you want to update (plus the identified field , such as model or product), and use the same titles in the update file that you have in the file, it will work smoother.
Try this, if you are still having trouble, post again. I will continue to work with you both if needed.

One of my issues seems to have cleared itself up.
Yesterday and today I’ve been able to update existing products and it did not produce de-activated products. I don’t know what has changed, only that it has been working the last two days.
That only leaves the problem “Server Not Responding”.
I’ll be adding about 3000 new products to the store this afternoon and I’ll update everyone on how that turns out.
One possible reason for the Server Not Responding error is that Apsona is time sensitive, and if the Server does not respond in a certain amount of time it will throw up an error.

I have noticed that Apsona seems to stop if I navigate away from it to another tab (I use Firefox).
I also wonder if it has anything to do with the timeout settings for the admin cart in v1.5. Before you start the upload, navigate back to the admin page, do something to reset the timeout clock on the admin page, then navigate back to Apsona and initiate the process. The other way to get around the timeout on the admin page is to go to "Who's online" and set it to refresh every minute. That will reset the clock.

I think you maybe on to something there. At least for most people getting that error. Increasing that time out setting could fix most of the time out error.
For me I think its because my host has setup an Abuse Monitor so we can track down what is taking too long.
I'm sure it is the way Apsona accesses the DB. I opened Apsona and it opened normally. Clicked on Products and it showed all the products on the left hand side of the screen. All normal. Then I searched for a test product and Apsona started its search. The search gave me the Server Not Responding error. At the same time I started the search in the store Admin area I started a search for the same test product. It was stuck on searching until after I closed Apsona. Apsona did not return a results for the search instead I got an error. In Admin the search did return a results, but not until I closed Apsona, and the search took more than 275 seconds.
To get around that I stopped doing searches in Apsona.
I was able to update 2715 products with out an error, or de-activating any products.
But on a test update I updated just 2 products and it was successful, but now they can't be found in the store.
They were showing in the store before the update and now after the update you can't find them. I found the problem by finding them in the DB. They don't have a Category associated with them. The update deleted the Category information.
The updated information was just Model, Name, and Number of items in stock. The two items are:
Melon Shell
Large Murex Shell
They are both in the DB and enabled but have no Category listed.
I have tried to recreate this and so far have not been able to. I updated 2700 products since then and it looks like all are still there. So, maybe it was just a hiccup.
I'll let you know more later. I still plan to add 3000 new products. I just hoping there are no issues with that.

You may want to insure that those two are the only 2 that do not have category info. If you create a filter in Apsona to find all of the products where category is empty, you can then use Apsona to add the category info.
One additional thought. Are you running on a linux server? If so, make sure that all of the names have the correct case. Linux is funny that way - lots of things seem to be case sensitive.
Is there any possibility that the file that you are uploading includes a column labeled category or master category and has a blank or a space in that field?
Good luck. It seems that you are getting closer

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Just to update everyone on how this is going I’ve found that Apsona is importing the new records and updating existing records. At least until it shows the error message, and then it stops.
The problem is in the Category field. It is not being updated or set with new records. All the other fields are being set or updated.
It appears that Apsona must be waiting for some kind of acknowledgment from the write, or update process and it never comes so it throws an error that the Server Is Not Responding because the process has not completed.
I’ve decided, for now at least to move the store. Although the speed of the site is outstanding, I believe this problem is connected to the Server.
In any event I’ll know once the site is moved.

Ok just installed it.
The first page of Apsona "the dashboard", the reports etc are showing in US date format, is there a way to change that?

Tonight M. A. Sridha from Apsona and I did a screen share to check out Apsona to see if we could figure out why the ‘Server Not Responding error keeps popping up when updating or importing new records.
Using Firebug to watch what Apsona was doing while doing an import of 10 records shows Apsona is doing what it should, or at least it did tonight.
The Test file only had 10 products and they were imported as new records. Because I changed the Category in the test file Apsona created the Categories and imported all 10 as normal complete with categories.
After that I went back to the original file which has 251 products and tried to import. The import failed after importing 110 records and all of them were missing the Category field.
I deleted those and changed the Categories just enough that Apsona would see them as new Categories. Using the same file all the Categories were created but none of the products were created, and I got the ‘Server Not Responding error after 100 records.
I'd have to say the SQL Server is not working with Apsona. It has been but now something must have changed.

The testing I did today and using Firebug shows Apsona is running into a 500 Internal Server error.
I've passed this along to my host and hopefully they'll be able to figure out why.
In the meantime I'm looking for new hosting.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Just an update to let everyone know how this turned out. The store has been moved to a new Hosting account and it and Apsona are working well together.
I have no doubt my old hosting company will work out the kinks in their sql server. They just need more time to tune it to work with high demand applications.
Yesterday I was able to upload 5k new products with any problems.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
I have a ZC139h and Apsona ShopAdmin version v1.07.1-b1103152126
Earlier today I did a product update. The file I uploaded had only 2 columns: Prod ID and META KEYWORDS.
This added all the keywords, just as expected. But for some reason all my meta prod titles got switched off.
So I restored the backup, all my meta titles came back. Then I repeated the same update with the same results (titles disappear).
I am completely stumped. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
The products table requires a 1 in the metatags_title_status and metatags_products_name_status fields.
Perhaps your Apsona import just requires that you supply values for those fields in order for it to import a non-zero value, instead of resetting it to 0.

Wow... great idea! I'm trying it now. I added two column, values set to 1. Current import includes:
Product_ID, Meta_Keywords, Meta_Tags_Title_Status
Though I made a column of 1's for the Product_Name_Status, there is no matching value for it in Apsona!
Grrr.
We'll see if it works. Do you know of a way to add fields to Apsona?
NOPE! All my titles get switched off again! I bet it would work if I could add Product_Name_Status to Apsona.

You could use a Firefox plugin named Firebug to see what is happening and maybe see why it becomes unresponsive.
Just install Firebug and start it just before you start your import. Hopefully you will see when it stops responding and you'll have more information you can take back to your hosting support or here.
I hope that helps.

No.
It used to open a new window for the interface but that's not possible in 1.5, so you have to duplicate the admin tab before opening the Apsona link.

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Hi,
I am having a problem importing customer records into a ZC 1.5 store. The data I obtained, was from the customers table from my zc 1.38 store which I am migrating.
The problem apparently is that apsona will not let me import because in this table I do not have the customer country, street address and city in the table. It appears that the address, country and city is in the separate address_book table in the ZC 1.38 database.
I don't mind copying that data over the import table, the problem is that the address_book table seems to contain both shipping and billind addresses, and the rows would be out of sequence with the import table - twice as many rows.
Any suggestions as to how I should proceed?
Thanks

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Sorry, I mis spelled, it's "...contain both shipping and billing addresses,..." in the above, not "...contain both shipping and billind addresses,..."

Oh, one more question...
When importing customer data, I noticed that in the customer table from the database, that the customer's password is encrypted in the customers_password column.
Will the customer still be able to log in? In other words, does the new installation of Zen Cart know how to read their password, once the table is imported?
Thanks.

Why not upgrade the old database through zc_install?

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Because the old store is live, and on a different server. I am migrating it to a new server, and wanted it to get new store ready before DNS changes to avoid interruption.
Plus the new server has latest version of PHP and MySQL. My current setup is outdated server software, did not want anything to break in the upgrade.

OK maybe I should ask the question I posted in this thread on 14 Mar 09:48 AM (above) another way, since no one seemed to have an answer to the above......
For Zen Cart 1.3.8, the address_book table has multiple customer address entries.
Am I correct in assuming that the first address showing in this table for a specific customer, is the billing address for that customer? And any addresses following that first entry for that same customer in the table, is a shipping address for that customer?
Is this correct?

Re: Apsona ShopAdmin - a free tool for import/mass update/reporting
Hi,
Gift Certificate option required.
Can any one guide me for one following modification.
When you go to Customers > All Customers, there under Customer Details tab I want one more option i.e. Gift Certificate.
I not only need to view that details but also edit so that I can directly add/edit the gift value instantly to any customer.
Thanking you in advance.
